The BC license plate says "Beautiful British Columbia " and I get reminded of it once in a while. Southeastern BC is my favorite corner.

Thanks very much! I hope to keep improving my "adventure" videos and make them more and more engaging. I welcome any and all feedback please! and yes, we carry bear spray and we make a ton of noise while hiking - singing, yelling and banging stuff so we don't surprise any bears.

This deserves more views.

theres some pretty good products for keeping mosquitoes not only off of you but away from you, havent used any personally just load up on the deet myself but i seen realistic tests on youtube of some and it can change from thick swarms where you cant even stand still to one or two buzzing over and immediately taking off

Enjoyed this video so much. You make me wanting to move to Canada where you can be safe and and free! Best.

Up until recently Albertans had a LOT of cash to bring, the amount of money Albertans were raking in from oil revenues made them look VERY rich, for instance, when I worked at a luxury lodge in BC in 2005 near the Alberta border a group of oil industry middle manager office workers stayed there and tipped the dining room server $100 each, that is plus the cost of the food and liquor, there were 10 guests so the server made $1000 that night on tips from that table alone, and I have heard many similar stories. Now that the oil industry has crashed, it is not quite like that anymore, and I think the "bring cash" phrase comes more from Asian investment in Vancouver driving up real estate prices there.

This is northern bc and there oilfield there so they get that Albertains are not Ritch. Not like central and Southern AB . They charge the red plate way higher and think there heros doing it ... been in BC and AB for 45 years its horrid how they treat the red plate good nabour that works hard for there oilfield money . For some reason lower BC thinks the oilfield throws money at you and you don't even have to work for it .. I wish iv worked outside in the cold most my life and hard for it ...

We carry bear spray when we're out, and make a ton of noise while hiking so we don't startle them,

I love and hate how you censor the names of these places. This looks like one I'd really love to visit when the border opens up again. What a lovely backpacking trip it would make.

@@TheRoadChoseMe Yes indeed. It took about an hour of googling and image searching, but I did find it and it's only about 4 hours from me. Once that border opens, we're going! (so...probably next year). I added a reminder in my calendar for next summer.

These days I'm running Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires which I love. A bit more aggressive than the BFG KO2, much quieter and cheaper too!

@@TheRoadChoseMe nice mate.. I'm doing a build on my JK right now. I was thinking of going KO2's 33x12.5. What are your thoughts on a 33 inch tire that's wide? I live in the Rockies in Alberta. I've heard that sometimes wider tires don't hold up good in snow because of flotation. Thoughts?

Doesn't it suck waking up to a tent of condensation dripping down on you and running down the Walls. And then if you're not in the right climate it doesn't dry out and the next night it's even worse or if you have to fold it up wet then few days of that and they get kind of stinky.

The condensation is not ideal, and it does become a problem with snow on the ground. Lighting a small candle helps a lot. It takes about 5 minutes to fully dry out in the sun.

Yes, or use bear containers, or bear lockers (which have been built at this place)

Curious question for Dan, If the timing/weather is right and your border opens to the US as expected, would this hike be one you would consider doing solo with dog? Avid Outdoors woman asking, as this hike has been on my radar for a while….. I too am a remote hot spring hunter. Thanks in advance

Absolutely, yes! The trail is easy to follow, and if you go on a weekend there's guaranteed to be other people around. Your dog will be excellent as a bear warning.

9:27 looks like Grizzly territory. I would not be worried about mosquitos..

Hi mate. you need to move to Iceland for minimum of 5 years. If you intend to enjoy all the hot water springs there are available to public. Now is the chance of moving in, the currency is cheap so today you get the max for your dollar! I will drop you comment on Facebook and we can connect from there. But my advice.... those wonderful clips from Africa I watched. They could have be 4x larger with content. Forget about the books.... KZread & private film making is the future!

Make sure you fill your long range fuel tank with your favourite alcoholic beverage before shipping the Jeep to Iceland:-). It will be a bit more expensive than Africa...

For Africa I had a clamp on the drivers side mirror so I could easily reach it to turn it on and off. The adhesive pad has been there since South Africa.. so something like 40k miles and a few years.

On my way to South America I spent a week touring hot springs in Idaho and LOVED it! I can't wait to get back down there when the border opens!

The funny thing is that the government thinks it belongs to them when in reality it belongs to us, and the government is there to serve us. They have to make it a park (confiscate it) so that we can be made to follow rules and regulations.

if i seen "parks" workers destroying stone pools with no excuse other then "public safety" itd quickly turn into a fight.. they like to put no trespassing signs up around here on popular trails and swimming holes which are crown land and the publics right to be on.. they know better then to come out there in person on a nice summers day though

These are ecologically sensitive areas. Mother Nature will send her rocks to block people. White man never knew of there until the loggers came in the 1980's. This area has been closed for protection world sensitive ecology.
