On their smaller stations, a long press on the dc power button locks the dc on, which overcomes the low draw of a fridge.

Ah yep. They are a great bit of kit. Do you have any of their power stations?

Strange that you're only getting 60W from your cig plug. Most output 10amps, so X 12.4V = 124W. If you install a dc-dc converter (note NOT dc-dc charger) to your alternator, you can output say 25V into the PS2000's solar input port, which allows max 20amp / 500 W. Then you get 25V X 20 amps = 500 W. That will recharge the PS2000 from empty to full in 4 hours of driving.

Noting the fix to keep the dc power going by turning the inverter on, the down side is the inverter will use a power just to be on. A waste of the stored power. Itechworld need to overcome this problem some other way.

Like wolf666 said, nothing is better than a inverter gas generator. What do think charges your PS2000 besides the solar panels?

Just another prospective and way of doing things. Other products may suit people's needs, this product certainly suits a lot of people's camping styles. I think it's a great product, and it serves a purpose. 👍

Well how about a dc-dc converter powered by your vehicle alternator that outputs 30 volts and therefore produces higher, more convenient and way more consistent power to charge the power station than solar. That would do it . . . . and sure does for me.

Yep that's one way to do it, and yes I've tries that, it plugs into the MPPT Andersson plug and charges at 100watts.

@@prado150outahere Then you are doing something wrong. Power (Watts) = Voltage x Amps. The Victron DC to DC converter (note not charger), outputs 30 Volts and the PS2000 can accept 20 Amps via the solar input port. So, 30Volts x 20Amps = 600Watts. However, the PS2000 solar input is also limited to 500Watts, but that's still way more than the 100Watts you are achieving.

Not sure, all I know that when I plug it to the anderson plug at the rear of the Prado it says its charging at about 100 to 110 watts. And yes, I get more from the 200w solar blanket.

We bought the ps 2000 as the salesman told us it would charge our Dometic 3 way fridge for at least 3 to 4 days we;ve just tested it and its only good for TEN hours at most its drawing 10 % an hour and with a 100 % charge 10 hours is all it can last so how they can say it lasts for days has me baffled ! at $3700 we would have been saving over $1700 buying a top end Generator Really hope I'm missing something here as Im begining to feel ripped off.

Hey mate. Yep not sure and can't comment about that, you'd have to do your sums about how many amps it draws, and compare it to the 160 amp hours of lithium battery on the PS2000. I know that it'll run an Engel fridge for quite a few days without charge. Sorry mate to here that you may have been given information that may not have been correct. I can only speak for myself and for me it has proven to be a good product.

Check the amps draw on that 3 way fridge, I believe that they draw quite a bit compared to say an Engel or 12v compressor fridge

I can't comment about what you've written. I suppose if you haven't bought it direct from them then yeah don't know. However, what I can say is that I use their products and I am extremely happy with those products so far and also with their customer service. Thank you though for your comments and I'll take that on board for next time I'm speaking to Itechworld
