One setting that tends to add weirdness in the details is FRACTALITY. It will, for example, put dog-head motifs in a dog's fur. I usually keep that setting below 0.

I wish Magnific would release a version of their upscale tool that we can use on our PCs or Workstations which have beefy GPUs.

JPEG artefacts: If your source features jpeg artefacts, avoid using the SHARPY model, which will invariably exaggerate them, whatever the other settings are. This does not happen when using SPARKLE or ILLUSIO. Also, I've had success running the source image through Photoshop Jpeg Artefact Removal neural filter *before* bringing it into the upscaler (that applies to other upscalers as well) 32:53

I am sure magnific is based on stable diffusion upscale together with control net tile , that is what used behind , so charging 90 usd per month is simple scam

Its terrible for anything you want to actually upscale. Its good for things you want to invent. Because its what it is. It takes your image, runs it trough stable diffusion and generates something similar, and that is what you get. Its a scam company along with terribly unimpressive process. If you want to upscale something and preserve appearance, like people for example, forget it. Completely useless. If you are like yourself who has no interest in anything of substance, just making this videos about any kind of images, than it works.

You can also achieve very good results with portraits by using "portrait hard" or "soft" optimization and blending the two resulting Magnific jpegs with the original image by placing them on their own Photoshop layers and subtly blending them into the original image. This takes time and of course experience with Photoshop, but you can work in skin structures or any other details that are difficult to recognize in the original. And I promise you, if you do this carefully, not even the model herself will notice.
