There is so many little clues in this video to the story at hand. It makes it not just important to hear the song but take visual clues as well. The world is dark for Vessel right now. He is being tormented by a being that gave him everything and now he has nothing. The colours are the world around him and they are dry. They are bright yet they don’t affect his darkness. And it seems the brighter the world around him is THE DARKER he becomes. All he can think of is who he’d rather be or be with. Sleep is withholding herself. She is asking him to prove his devotion by being completely lovesick for her. Whole again, as Sleep comes to him in his actual sleep. That’s how she chooses to come to him. In the first album they were actually together for an extended period of time after he attempted to kill himself (imo). She now gives him little pieces of herself sporadically to make sure he is fully committed to accepting the fate she wishes to give him. Time, lived again is him finding his way in the real world after being placed in this proving ground Sleep has made for him. He’s fully her plaything and he has no idea. The guise is Sleep is a parasite feeding off her host. Vessel is that host and the darker he becomes the better a meal Sleep can have (whether that be emotional Or spiritual energy or dissonance the more intensely felt the emotion the better for Sleep and the stronger it becomes) The make up going on the plastic wrapped face is alluding to the fact that Sleep is deceiving him. The beauty is surface deep. The “love” is surface deep. And Vessel has no idea. This may be where the mask is coming in. The first mask is to hide his face (probably at the command of sleep itself). Making him nothing… further cementing his already dismal view of himself. And when we get to Nazareth we will see just how desperate he is to reunite with Sleep.

Extremely underrated song nice to see someone go back to the old EP’s 💜

Always interpreted these lyrics as someone mourning the loss of a loved one. Visually and sonically I tend to imagine the softer and unmasked bits as him "whole again" maybe in his Sleep where he feels like himself. When it gets heavier and his mask returns maybe the mask could represents his yolk with which he bears the weight of his pain and what his waking hours feel like to him. Sleep Token or Sleep to me has always represented an escape from reality

It is praise and worship music. Thats why followers say worship 😅 Any who, there is a message in the " fall for me " Video, there is a live performance with a recorded message, and there was a recording during the 2023 tours. You can find them if you look and they add to the lore. The beginning of the lore is Vessel had a dream about an ancient entity they call Sleep that said if vessel did what hes doing now, and spreads the word of sleep, Vessel would get what he wants. If you take the music literally, it seems to be about a toxic abusive relationship, limerence, and the outcomes of the craziness that happened in that relationship, although this can be applied to Sleep also. So the band is a Sleep Token. Tokens being offerings or vouchers traded for goods and services. The music and people are all tokens for Sleep.

"I am caught, tangled in Wrapped and quartered tripping up and over Time lived again for just a moment Missing pieces find me" I think this is a reference to him dreaming, him stuck on something that happened in his past. Our memories fade over time, but every once a while we remember another detail about a particular event that we might have forgotten about In the context of Sleep Token, I interpret it to mean a conversation or moment he had with someone he loved. He was transported back to that moment in his dream, and keeps replaying it, feeling whole when he does

I totally agree with this. Within the lore, I interpret this as Sleep luring Vessel with these sweet dreams where he gets to relive past memories of a past lover. Vessel is giving in because he’s so desperate to re-live it. In return, Vessel gives up offerings of himself (his flesh, hence the biting).

The EPs are thought to be vessels introduction of the deity sleep and the beginning of their relationship. He's falling in love with this toxic being that only shows him love at their own discretion. Hes breaking. he's traded his already fractured heart for broken promises and essentially sold his soul. The deity only visits him at night in his sleep. He longs for the night to encounter the deity despite the toxicity.

You gotta watch some of the older live performances of this and other songs

I interpret the colours as being a reference to Holi, a Hindu celebration of Spring, love, and renewal. Where people gather together and celebrate by playfully throwing brightly coloured powders at each other. Sleep Token like to use imagery of real world religions (like the apple and serpent for Christianity) and blend it in amongst their own lore, so I think they're doing the same thing here.

Funny thing is you said it sounds like gospel music . If you watch the DRUMEO of the drummer some of the questions he answered that he is heavy influenced by gospel music…. As a matter of fact you should do some videos on his DRUMEO that would be awesome he is such a badass drummer and very intelligent human being.

My own personal interpretation of this whole catalog of music this far is about his first love and the first time he ever opened himself up to another. He fell hard and deep for her and she either was playing him from the beginning or she just didn't love him back. I think the God or the sleep deity is made up to keep the interest and add mystery. Each song just about can either be looked at as the failed relationship or as the "deity." And it even seems to me sometimes the girl and sleep are the same person. Vessel gives clues throughout the music to be able to find out who this person is. I think the whole worship thing just allows them to capitalize on the lore the fans themselves have made up. I think it's a genius strategy. Give the bare minimum to a collective people and let them do the work for you. Work harder not smarter. Just my interpretation

I love this song. The harmonies give me goosebumps too. Don’t forget about his cover songs! I believe they released the cover of Hey Ya after One EP? Someone else also mentioned the Drumeo interview with ii (the drummer). ii also has some drum playthroughs on KZread that are amazing. You should react to those!

That's not plastic over her mouth trying to put lipstick on. It's clear tape. Remember that, there's a line in Nazareth that references that scene in this video. Nazareth is my favorite song off this EP. The thing about ST is Vessel lets the Listener decide what the music and lyrics mean to them. So many people can relate to a bad breakup and toxic relationships. As for Vessels vocals, the man is amazing. The pure angst and emotion he sings with is what really draws people in. This is definitely a band that's so worth the deep dive. Keep em coming. ❤ Worship ❤
