Majority of pictures are deceiving when buying or renting. Going thru a realtor can sometimes be a good idea. Remember nothing is worth more than you are willing to pay, goes for anything. Born and raised Floridian.

Oh yeah I know that you can, but mostly a studio, or with a roommate. I have found apartments near the beach 2bd for $1500 and much further away from the beach for more than that. It just depends on your taste and what you are willing to give up in amenities like (gated, assigned parking, security, w/d in unit, etc.)

Hey what’s up. I am surprised you haven’t jumped on buying a property. Also I laugh when you posted their apt prices. I live in NYC Brooklyn. A 2 Bedroom in my area anywhere from $3000.00 to $4500.00. You go into Manhattan forget about it. My girl and I are looking to move to South Fl. I am looking at the West Coast Northport, Punta Garda, Fort Meyers area. She likes the East Coast, Miami,Miami and Miami. Although we look young and socialized I am trying to convince her that the Weather Coast would suit us better. We are both past 50. We both have substantial income coming in so money is not a problem. However, we both live simple. Other than our vehicles and clothes we live a simple life. What do you recommend.

Haines City, Davenport, Winter Haven, Lakeland, Ocala, and Deltona are safe and nice places to live. but of course they are in central Florida. In south Florida west side look between Ft Meyers and cape coral. on the east side i found some nice places between Lake Park and West Palm beach. seek, and you will find...Here is some advice because your over 50, the healthcare is not on the level of "mindset" that you have on the east coast. My doctors and hospitals in Philadelphia are great and they are on "point" with work ethic and efficenicy. Down here in Florida (i lived here for 10 years before i moved back up north) if you have heatlh issues like heart disease, or whatever, the mindset from nurses and doctors are not that great. The healthcare and hospitals are poor down here..I cant explain it, they just don't "mentally" have it..well, hope you find what you are looking for.

I used to live in both Palm Beach and Broward counties years ago. One critical thing to account for is traffic. Interstate 95 is the major road that most people traverse in the region (the rest are on the Florida Turnpike). So if you move too far west of I-95 you will have a monster commute. The East/West roads are mostly local routes. If you move to West Palm Beach to save on rent, that will have a huge impact if your job is in Ft. Lauderdale. They expanded I-95 to handle the congestion, but it's still a problem. . . as for the rental costs, the prices weren't that bad until the 2005 housing bubble. The area saw many low cost rentals converted into condos around that time. Before that you could find a decent apartment for under $600 in a working class neighborhood.

We vacation in Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach. My uncle lives in Boca Raton. From all my trips down there and "house hunting", you pay more (much more) when you buy/rent East of I-95 and as you get closer to the Ocean, the cost of real estate skyrockets.

If you are talking south Florida where I live then you have a multitude of people from other countries with a huge Spanish and caribbean presence. Read some of the other comments and you will start to see how many people either want to move here OR already on their way. By the way, there are MANY people here from NY

I’m from New York City and pay $1650(NOT fixed) for a 2bedroom but we had to move to the cheapest borough in New York in order to pay that cheap. If we moved back to Bronx or Queens we’d be paying $2000+ for a 2bedroom alone and that’s with no amenities other than MAYBE a laundry room and in neighborhoods that aren’t even the safest. Miami would give us a hell of a lot bang for our buck long as we can find work in our field where we can get paid enough to sustain it. I’d prefer to live near a city since I am a city girl and enjoy sights of buildings and convenience. Thanks for your videos I love them

Tina, it's a catch (22) if you know what I mean. Miami is huge, but people who are not from here associate cities in Dade County as Miami. Depending on your career background, yes finding work that pays the bills and then some..... may be a challenge! Check out my (1 year experience of living in South Florida) and you will see what I mean. I love to see us being successful, but I got to keep it real, you gonna have to have some thick skin if you decide to move here because Florida will present some different challenges!! Adam, I would say that the homeless rate here in South Florida is probably not as high as some states. If your only hustle is to work from 9-5 on minimum wage, then you may be hurting. From what I've seen so far people have all kinds of hustles going on down here in South Florida to make money if you know what I mean. Look it up, you will be surprised.

Briana, to me West Palm Beach is probably the sweet spot. I've heard several people say that it's a really nice place to live up North, but a little pricey. However I have a feeling that those high home prices are gonna drop in a few months.

Rents have actually gone way up since coronavirus because many people from up north can work from home now on their computers and they are moving to Florida in large numbers. $1600 is the going rate for a one bedroom now. Pretty soon we'll be talking New York prices in the next couple years with NO rent control!

It just depends on your situation. In my opinion I've owned a home before and there's nothing like having privacy, your own space, front, and backyard. In reality a condo is nothing more than an apartment building that has been somewhat updated meaning (higher end appliances, etc.) to give more of a homeowners feel. You are still gonna have those annoying upstairs neighbors jumping up and down, and banging on the walls for whatever reason. Good luck and Choose wisely!

I’m a fan of your channel but why is it that all these videos seem to have a negative slant? It’s as if the youtubers get off on knocking Florida. Rarely do these youtubers make videos talking about the good things about Florida. I just think it’s interesting. I mean rent is high everywhere but it seems as though there is an overwhelming amount of videos knocking Florida. Look at NY state... highest taxes in the country.

But this is south FL, we know whats good. Show us what is real and what people that have never lived there might not know, or might be shocked about.
