Is there a Fifth Force? News from the Large Hadron Collider (CERN LHCb): James Beacham & Phil Ilten

Is there a Fifth Force? News from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN with James Beacham & Phil Ilten. A new result from the LHCb Experiment collaboration was just announced, hinting at physics beyond the standard model and maybe even a fifth force or even a 'dark photon'.

Drs Phil Ilten and James Beacham (of CHASING EINSTEIN film fame) discuss new ideas in experimental physics, as well as the need for a new, $20B 'Future Circular Collider' at CERN.
What does it all mean Parity violation and more could result -- some mesons containing b quarks may preferentially decay to electrons rather than muons. #CERN #LHC #LHCb

I love her video's. But over time I've gotten the idea that her conviction is that if you can't directly observe something or direct effects of it, that it isn't science to dig deeper for explanations. She's grounded for sure. But I think she lacks the capacity to let the imagination stretch very far to theoretical places. Unless she's changed her views, she believes a bigger LHC would be a waste of money and time. Sometimes she comes across like a grumpy stick in the mud. She often undercuts scientists who stretch too far for her comfort level. I like far stretching theories, then testing to see if they hold up. She's incredibly good at explaining what is. This is just my personal opinion.

We need new hugely more powerful accelerators, Sabine doesn't know what the heck she's talking about. Also all phenomenology ought to be kept in abeyance until we have a smoking gun, the thing that we need to do right now is to achieve 7 sigma on these measurements that will then inform the building of the next generation of colliders as James and Phil said. In the meantime we should figure out whether things such as the hierarchy problem are due to working in the wrong framework of QFT and whether there are ways of getting round it.

The likelyhood of that being done is exceedingly slim. I kno I’m the engineer. Recently, there was an experiment done with. Dot 25 grain. The rulers an monarchs erased it an put in dot seventeen. Start off did humanity seeing structure as we gazed into infinity, see we patterns that lead to us seeing the tilt of earth as it cycled through the great year, see we cycles in the procession of the galaxy, great and greater cycles saw we over countless millennia did we, now James the boy has the answer for we, give me a break, if there is a 5th place to see, James has only one place in our history, the effort to see a 5th reality behind 3d and time. Much more subtle is the 5th place, blowing up reality is opposite to the task of understanding the forbidden infinity.
