Is “The Younger, The Better” True When Learning a Language? | Hao Nguyen | TEDxYouth@AISVN

In language acquisition, there's a prevailing notion of a 'golden period' for young learners to attain English proficiency. However, research presents an intriguing twist: Vietnamese adults often outpace their younger counterparts in mastering English. As an English instructor, I've witnessed firsthand these remarkable advancements. My TED talk aims to explore diverse learning paths across ages and illuminate the factors that empower adults to unlock rapid language acquisition. It challenges conventional norms and showcases how age can truly be an advantage in the pursuit of fluency. Hao Nguyen is a dedicated TESOL-certified ESL educator who brings extensive experience and a passion for empowering Vietnamese learners. She has guided many individuals on their journey to master English, witnessing first hand its transformative power and believing in the potential of everyone to excel, regardless of age or background. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
