Is the Yamaha Tenere 700 Suited To Single Track?

Ойын-сауық

Finally got back out on the Yamaha Tenere 700 for some woods riding, single track and a few hill climbs. Getting a feel for the big adventure bike again.

The brakes don’t lock up when you have the abs still engaged…😂😂😂

At what point was it still on? Don’t think I forgot to turn it off at any point? 🤷🏼‍♂️

Your perseverance and days on the KTM are paying off, you look way more confident on the T7. I'd love to take my T7 World Raid up on those trails. I don't think I'd attempt it alone though, only so many times you can pick them up solo 💪For the moment I'll stick to playing in the sandpit. Maybe we could arrange a meet up at some point? Ride safe 👍

Cheers man, felt good but I was very much humbled this weekend 😂 After the rain during the week I think I ended up turning around on every track I tried. Think I’ll pop the Mitas back on 🤔 sand pit was great craic today though

With the rear tyre make sure your not running road pressure. Just drop the pressure a small bit so you can just start to push the centre of the rear tyre in with your thumb then your good for off road and on road. But it makes so much difference to how your tyre flexes off road.

I think for the riding I’m trying to do I need to put my knobblies back on. But you’re right, could definitely drop a little pressure too

Also consider the camel rear break fix and you will have so much fell with the rear break compared to stock.

Got it, it did make a big difference but after riding my KTM for the past few months and jumping back on the T7 I realise what people used to talk about. I didn’t notice a problem with the T7 brake until I had that comparison.

Hey mate, I recently put on Continental TKC80's on my T7 and they are absolute dream on the Hills, I highly recommend them ;)

I’ve heard good things on the contis alright. I have a set of Mitas, e12 for the rear and e13 for the front. It’s an amazing setup, reckon I’ll be putting them back on soon

@@motorbikediaries that is a setup that I seen a lot of people running. I must give it a try maybe somewhere down the line.

Street and dirt are two different things. You have clickers, use them. Find your good road settings remember them then do the same for the dirt. Just change back and forth for what you are doing .

@@motorbikediaries Nice part is the T7 has very adjustable suspension. With the work you've done it looks much better. My Tuareg is going to need the same kind of work as soon as I can figure out which system I want to go with but it doesn't have the double adjustability the T7 does, the Tuareg has rebound on one fork and comp on the other, not the most acuate system but less expensive. I did put a Scott steering damper to help with the head deflection.

@@azlong4596 I’ve got the Tractive Closed Cartridge setup on the T7, it’s been some faff to get it set up properly and I’m hoping it’s finally right now. Surprised you are considering changing the suspension on the Tuareg as I had read the stock setup is amazing. Best of luck with whatever you decide anyway
