Is the South Road Properties ready to hold the One Cebu Island Sinulog 2023?

Preparations for the Sinulog 2023 Festival on January 15 at the South Road Properties are underway but many residents and even Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia have raised concerns over potential traffic and weather-related problems that can strike at the new venue.
Rappler Visayas Correspondent John Sitchon takes us to the venue to see the construction progress and what the Cebu City government is doing to address all the complaints.

Sa lahat ng taong hindi nka gusto ng venue hayaan nyu kpag naiba ang mayor o kaya ako maging mayor nyo ibabalik ko ang venue dati at hinding hindi na mapunta kung saan nlang magpakaylan man isa na ako dyan sa taong hinding sumang ayon ng venue ang layo at maputik pa.
Wala ko problema sa venue kay mainitan gali ko kong gigutom ko mo-check-in lang ko sa nearby hotel. Gutom? Wala problema dagan ko sa SM Seaside. Layo? Wala problema naa ko air-conditioned off-road Ford Raptor. Parking? Park ko sa SM Seaside. Usa pa nga OK ra nako ang SRP kay aron makakita ko sa gipasundayag nga moonscape sa SRP. Ole` Sa sunod Sinulog 2024 ang paplanohon ang mga Indian sa Call Centers because they are extremely brilliant in planning to implementation. Walang kapalpakan.

nah... the dumbest mayor by far and probably the most corrupt. He's been in the govt for a very long time and yet could not even organize a simple sinulog festival well. Couldnt imagine how he handles complex tasks or problems of cebu city.
Pwedi lang mayor dili lang jud pugson ....naapay sunod tuig ...pwedi ibutang sa naandan Muna ...Mayor Rama

No amenities. Bring your own amenities. No Restrooms. No sidewalk vendors selling refreshments. No shade. Not enough public transportation. These amenities are only available at SM Seaside.

Sa Abellana mga bakya crowd man gud. Sa SRP gi-showcase nila ang mingaw nga mga establishments labi na ang kamingaw sa SM Seaside ug mga casino ug hotel sa paligid
Sto Niño para sa ulan kaya lagi umuulan
so sad. makawala ug gana gyud. impossible to possible, good luck.

I think he was compromised to do so because of business and economic purposes. It is sad that this religious and very meaningful event after the pandemic would have to go thru this. Having experienced and seen the very first sinulog this is ay bigger but I would not say this is far better. Sinulog lost the essence of what it is supposed to be. It is now more commercialized and it is no longer about Sto. Nino. This is probably why it always rains during Sinulog. Wa jud malipay ang sto. Nino ani. Nanag away na man hinuon ang mga tawo when this event is supposed to bring us together. But whatever it is, we have to keep the faith. We will continue to pray and celebrate Christianianity. I hope in the years to come di na manginlabot ang gobyerno sa Sinulog. Let there be a dedicated committee for this event na objective and walay ilang kaugalingong agenda. Viva Pit Senyor!

How in the world Filipinos celebrate Sto Nino when the bearer of Sto Nino, Ferdinand Magellan, was garroted by Lapu-Lapu that Christians celebrate and adore? Scratching my head.
