Thanks so much for watching this episode! If you haven’t watched my three episode series on the Milford track, I have the links to all three in the description. Which one would you do if you could only choose one? The Routeburn or the Milford?

Isn’t there something quite spiritual about experiencing pure alpine water cascading off the peaks .. into rivers and waterfalls .. and eventually into the ocean. Always amazes me how water is so unique to our planet. The big blue marble in space. Thanks for recording your amazing journey in life and in the wild. An inspiration for us all. Stay safe.

Great video. It is the first one I have seen on the Routeburn from the Divide end. I walked it the other way many years ago and had similar weather. Blue skys and mind blowing views up to Routeburn Falls. The temperature plummeted and clouds came down the next day. Torrential rain the next day from Lake Mackenzie to Lake Howden gave the benefit of Earland Falls in full flow.

@@ianfisk01 thanks for watching! Isn’t it amazing how fast the weather can change there? I thought the same thing about the rain. It’s what makes the waterfalls magical!

Another great video, Jen! I discovered your channel a few weeks ago while searching for videos about the Milford Track. One day, I will proudly say I was among those who followed Jen from the very beginning. Looking forward to more videos. Best wishes from NZ!

I'm not sure if it's still there, but there used to be a small monument on the track above Mackenzie hut to commemorate a group of school children who froze to death at that point, within sight of the hut , due to being caught in bad weather on the Harris saddle Mackenzie hut traverse. That stretch of track is brutally exposed in bad weather.

@@nralbers oh that is bringing up a memory of one the guides talking about that. Such a tragic story. The Harris Saddle is so exposed and the weather changes so quickly.
