I think Zero is really good for solo queue within the lower ranks. He's the jack of all trades operator in a sense where he can fill in a position your team needs while also being sustainable. The issue with zero in higher ranks is that higher ranked players are more cooperative, so why use zero when you can just have 5 hyper specialized operators doing their jobs all at once? Support operators like Twitch, Brava, Lion, Nomad all get info so much better than Zero does. Hard Breachers like Thermite, Ace, and Hibana will get the wazll open 9/10 times. But if you want more player agency which is obviously more valuable in lower elos, Zero becomes great. But when everyone knows what their role is and what they want to do, Zero then becomes less powerful.

twitch cams are more counterable than zero's, though. they can be denied via muting or mozzie pesting doorways, whilst zero doesnt ever have that problem @@katama_1

I would agree with you if top level players didnt still pick characters like Ash, Nook and Iana on the regular who have worse guns than Zero and are only used for entry dragging, which Zero may as well also do.

Travelling around the entire map like that takes A LOT of time, and you also need to clear small tower, dining, bottom white, kitchen, and green hall all while being aware of your flank and while trying to pressure kids. Doing this all on your own is EXTREMELY risky at the high ranks and soaks up all your time. Personally don't think it's very strong for my rank.

@@Poxonlox while I agree with you, I play with a competent stack most times, so I guess that does add value inherently. Getting zero cams in main lobby and bottom white isn’t much of a hassle. A pre placed dining cutoff drone and a buddy pressuring white helps w the final one. Surely you can find the weak spot in the hold with that info and minimal effort in communication

The thing about all this is that a well rounded stack already has ops to do all these things, but do them better. Flank watch? Use ur drones like you're supposed to, or bring a nomad who not only watches flank but actively protects it. Getting rid of wall denial? Maverick, impact emps, any other better op with gonne, etc.

i've actually learned a lot from these videos, think the biggest thing was just how important patience is to practice. There have been so many times that I can now remind myself that Pox would push here, so I should wait a few seconds longer

Fisher will get rid of that kaid claw with ease using a sneaky cam to destroy it.

He has 5 cameras including his drones, he can get the wall, and he has a great primary weapon. I use him aggressively and passively. If you can’t rely on your team to do a lot but they are still reliable to call out and watch cameras he is great. He is basically the same load out of buck but the more passive ability. I’m not saying he’s S tier but calling him a D tier like you did is way disrespectful.

Definitely a high B low A. I’m typically hard breach on my team but if I’m getting shot in the back too much I swap Zero and make someone else do it. So many rounds won just bc I know where they are and they have no idea I do.

In all honesty you undersold Zero, no vertical play with the cams, its great utility clear (Mira, Goyo , Mute, Wamai, you get the point. Not to mention shooting multiple cams in late game give a lot of info not to mention it can apply pressure if used right. Truly one of his downsides is if your team is not using cams & or not working together, but with that being said if they aren't working together it was gonna be a battle to win to begin with.

As someone who plays in silver and gold, and solo queues a lot, zero is an amazing pick. He’s just got a ton of utility and can cover for so many unknown factors if your team isn’t good or communicating. His primary is the best attacker weapon in the game imo, and I use a silencer because the damage and recoil isn’t bad. The gonne 6 is the best secondary for extra utility. I bring hard breaches in case the hard breacher dies before getting the wall open or to push an alternative way into a site. Then I try to make the most use out of the cams. One thing is they are simply set up for flank watch and the post plant. Another is to sneak them into the site without defenders realizing early on. Sometimes I shoot cams through a floor if the site is below and defenders won’t look up a lot of times. On top of all this the cams can act as a twitch drone and can also get around mute jammers better than drones. If a wall is muted, I will shoot a cam at the top then look down and shoot out the jammer, then hard breach. I can also help my team better if I’m dead and have all these cams when there aren’t many drones left in good spots. Finally it’s simply reassurance to use the cams while your drones can remain in your pocket. It’s like the logic with Brava, zero in a lot of ways has like 6 drones. I do wish his cams got a couple buffs though, because I can see how they become weaker at their job against better players. It’d be nice if they were even quieter and maybe didn’t light up as much when players are using them.

I like the comparison to Capitao at around 7:00 minutes cause that’s actually who I fell back on after a couple months of solo q. Even now that I have a fairly reliable stack, I play a lot of Cap as I just find him super versatile

Zero’s worth in game is based on him and his teammates reacting from his gadgets.

I have a teammate used a loud gadget so i can pierce my cam above or below, then i just yellow ping and play vertical. As long as you place your cams in a spot they're unlikely to see naturally, you'll likely succeed. I'll drone out where i want to go naturally, like I'm playing buck or sledge. And use most of his ability on sight while they're being pressured by my team.

A simple question for melusi, why putting the melusi at the head level and not feet level, is there a reason I am not aware of? I like to put it at the feet level if I can, since it make them aim else where and give you a bit of an avantage against the enemies when they destroy it. If it's at head level, it will let them just flick at the same level of head level and it's a bit easier, I think, for them to flick back at where you might be at.

Zero is what I classify as flex op. He can help roam clear with his cams. Not the best until use but still using it. He can help with breach. He can watch defuser post plant. He is a very flexible op is just u need to find the right people. If ur solo q. Maybe not the best but if u have a coordinated 5 stack. Zero is a really strong pick.

i playing zero for soloque every time in emerald rank. maybe he is not that good in diamond,but i think the cams helping alot to ping enemies and shooting thorntraps,beepers or other stuff like that. so its very useful for hole team

The main reason why I love zero is his ability to be a “Swiss army knife”. His gadget can have multiple purposes: site intel, flank watch, clearing electrical gadgets, and even for distracting an enemy so your teammate can swing him(works more often than you think). On top of that, he in most cites can clear the bandit/kaid and open a wall by himself, so if either your teammates get spawnpeaked and you lose your hard breacher, or they don’t care about the wall and pick ace for the AK-12 rush, you can single handedly open impactful walls without any help. He also had a gonne-6, so he can open hatches(soft and reinforced ones with the can opener)and clear out shields and bullet proof utility. It’s also really easy to sneak cameras in key areas for intel. Once they know they’re being watched, they either have to go find the camera, distracting them from watching an angle, or hope their aim is good enough to win despite being yellow pinged. Top that off with 2 powerful guns, which with 4 cams and 2 drones makes him a powerful entry, as he can gather as much info as he needs before entering, so catching him by suprise rarely happens. Basically, no matter how bad or disjointed of a team you have, zero can adapt to any scenario and still be useful. He can be your back up for every role, his intel is very crucial in a meta that is swinging extra defender heavy, so attack needs as much into as possible to have a chance, and overall he’s really fun and can do a lot of strats, either independently or with a coordinated team. Maybe at the hugest level, he isn’t amazing, because at comp level you need ops that have more garunteed value and hit harder. Obviously he can’t hard breach as well as ace, or cover the flank as well as nomad, but he can do their jobs good enough, especially for ranked play. And honestly, Ive started to move away from ranked, due to not having a stack that isn’t toxic, and in standard he cooks people. He’s not necessarily top tier, but I think he’s very versatile and is great for solo queuers who can’t find a group to play with, and he’s pretty fun to play and is a great op for players to learn new strats and become better at gathering information. Zero actually has some niche uses on Kanal for a scuba push. He has claymores to watch the flank from 2nd floor roamer frome skybridge. The cams to check the corners, even if immedately destroyed gives info that he's right there. The lazers dealing chip or destroying util that other ops cant quite get. Aside from Flash bangs right, hes a slightly worse Iana and in your professional champ opinion, isnt Iana the best solo que op in r6?

personally, i use zero as an operator that can overwhelm the enemy with trying to deny info if you can get near, over, or under the site, you can pretty much fire all your drones. if your opponent looks for them, it takes time and your team gets control. if they dont look, your team gets loads of info. naturally this strat is countered by solis

I used to play Zero a lot, but he is just too slow to collect intel in this meta. If you don't have a stack, randoms won't even watch your cameras, so sometimes it feels like a waste to use your gadget and you can't do everything alone. I'd rather pick Twitch for a similar job, 4 drones is more than enough and you can clear utility much easier + 417 is a beast.

i run iron sights with zero and i use his cameras to peek ill hard breach then shoot cam whe4n it blows

I have someone who I play with that mains zero and I can confirm that most zero players play him wrong which is why I think he’s bad because the way most people play zero is more passive and they use him for flank watch and some people use him aggressively and that’s not good also you want to play him support for intel and flank watch not primarily one and zero solo queue is not good because nobody can watch your zero cams 100% of the time he is the best I duo queue because if your teamate dies he can watch and if you die you can watch and zero if he is alive or dead as long as the cams are down then you can watch them for flank watch and intel and leave your teammate that your queueing with to bring the clearing and play making utility not having to worry about being flanked and if you get zero cams in site then you have intel and the person with the play making utility has intel

I think the ceiling for Zero is one of the highest in all of R6, in the hands of a very coordinated 5 stack he could be broken, but in practice (ranked) that potential is rarely scratched and his cams are barely used when they could be amazing intel/flank watch. The other time he could be good is for solo queue as his tools enable self sufficiency. Regardless he still is a 3 speed with a great gun and gonne 6 so he’s never terrible.

I have been ripping zero a shit ton this season and it’s working, I like him just cause I can most of the time get info discreetly.

I think its at least partially dishonest to have a round like the basement attack and then call it a failure of the operator. You had free info, just lost a long range gunfight. I also do not underatand holding it against an op for finding out an area is defended and having the option to rotate? This game is literally based around getting intel and attacking weak points. Some tips I'd give are: -The AR has 50 damage and high fire rate with extended barrel. It DELETES. Very curious how the recoil was giving you trouble as I find the gun one of the most stable guns in the game on a controller even. -Dont shoot your cams to initiate your push. Use your drones as normal and check common spots. If clear, shoot a cam there, and when enemies inevitably play it, profit infinitely. -Use cams for flank watch like your last round. You have 4, and you dont need to spend one every time you enter the building. Set and forget. -Pocket a one or two cams for attempting to sneak one in or near site late round, usually as an execute is starting is best due to stimulus. -Make use or the fact your came go through surfaces. Shoot them from safety and just wait to flip them until your reasonably sure its a good time to. It also works through floors, so you can literally get a cam in the middle of site many times. -Zero isnt meant to "shoot cam, check cam, see guy, push guy". Hes best when you use your cams intelligently, then keep your gun up and play some good siege. You can dip into your intel at any time. (And hopefully your teammates do). Again, his gun is statistically amazing and hes a three speed. He can frag. -You do gotta rotate with zero. I dont know how else to put it but if you play a character with the weakness of not having offensive utility, you cant know that, take that type of fight anyway, and then call him bad because of it. You do have a gonne 6 and can zaps, so if you identity a path, you arent completely at the mercy of site setup. No ones saying hes a good as the upper echelon of ops, but hes at least as good as Ash, Iana, Twitch, Nook, Zofia, with his own set of trade offs. It feels like people are allergic to methodical gameplay even while complaining that TDM meta is bad for the game. Totally understandable to not like the playstyle but at some point people gotta admit they dock points from ops if you have to think too hard. Every op is propped up by good 5 stack comms, and other ops weaknesses are covered over by a 5 stack. No ones calling Ash bad because she cant open hard breach and doesnt have flashes. People accept that other ops are gonna do the mechanic-based stuff and shes gonna go spend one charge on an outer doorway and the other on the doorway to site with utility before she enters. She doesnt even have flashes and she was top5 most picked attacker at SI. Its a team game.

Zero appears super good at face value and he is super good in a vacuum, I suppose. However, in practice, I agree with Pox. He's really over rated, way too slow, doesn't provide as much value as you'd expect tbh. He's not really an entry fragger and not really a support op and there are better flexes.

I think he's very versatile with an AR SMG 5/6 cams claymore HB. One downside of him is people don't watch cams so that is the it bad part I can think of

Zero is def one of the best ops no matter the rank. If you have a 5 stack he is amazing. Especially once someone on your team dies you get so much more information then you nrmally could

I like Zero because I love Valkyrie, I love the information gameplay! I disagree with Zero being good on Bank tho, to me Zero is good on maps with a lot of soft floor and/or walls. Kafe, Nighthaven Labs, Villa, Chalet. Then again, like top comment said, I'm not top ranks, so my opinion might change eventually

Why pick zero when Twitch Brava Nomad and Gridlock can fit 95% of scenarios that zero can and are generally better than him in all of those scenarios.
