The real unicorn Godzilla's are the very few that were Australian delivered by special order. 30 odd years ago, the ticket price was around $115k. I'll never forget my mates brothers burgundy R32 GTR Skyline and the day he picked it up brand new from the local Nissan dealer in Sydney. She still has pride of place in his garage. Such a beautiful car.

As a young fella saving to go overseas I worked at small telemarketing firm in Melb trying to sell the first 100 (all black?) to select customers on Nissan's books. They had beautiful brochures - wish I'd snaffled one... Loved them ever since tho at the time who could have known what they'd become...
One of the first skylines I first seen and loved one of the best models out in that spec even thoe there are great models this for me is the best model and I remember from the grandturismo game series that the R32 GTR Godzilla came in gun grey metallic that be the colour I'd go for just my thoughts 😆
Legendary ride there Ross, looking forward to watching this!

I didn't really get the Skyline 'thing' until recently going for a ride in a late model one. I now get it!!! They're great cars...... You know..... A lot of people say that Godzilla was banned from racing in Australia but that's not really accurate. The modification of Group A Touring Car racing in Australia back in the early 90's had more to do with the grass root supporters bleeding blue or red blood for the Ford(Falcon) v Holden(Commodore/Torana/Monaro) battle and Ford re-introducing the V8 to the Falcon range of cars. It all just made so much sense to create the new series which ultimately became V8 Supercars. BTW, the Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 had a better strike rate in regards to race wins than the Skyline. The Sierra didn't fade away during the participation of Godzilla either. In the last Bathurst race for these two makes, the 1992 Great Race, Dick Johnson put his Ford Sierra on pole . He also hounded the Richards/Skaife Skyline all day and was in fact the first car across the finish line at the end of the race. Due to a certain rule, the Skyline was awarded the win(it had crashed out on the last lap). The only car banned from racing in Australian Touring car racing was the Aussie made Ford Falcon GTHO Phase 4. A damning newspaper article by Evan Green influenced the Australian Government to 'persuade' Ford Australia not to release it, otherwise Ford would lose Government fleet sales. One production Falcon GTHO Phase 4 and three race prepared Phase 4's made it out of the factory and still exist today, except one of the race versions. Touring Car regulations in the early 70's were then modified with Group C being created. I'd like to see you review the 1 of 1 Production Falcon GTHO Phase 4 Ross. Keep up the good work mate. Enjoy!!!!
My first motorsport memory is of the Gibson GTR, I geeked out over the specs as a teen imagining how my dream car would be.

Very nice👌 I flew from VIC to QLD to buy a very nice black r32 gtr, had cash in hand and upon landing the owner said he'd taken a deposit on it that morning. I was so pissed off, I found the first thing I could buy that took my fancy which was a black S8 FD RX-7 (still have it and is on my channel).. Gtr owner hits me up the next day to tell me the guy pulled out of buying the car and wants his deposit back, I told him I'd purchased another car (with photo attached) and politely told him where he could stick his🤣 Still going to get me a mint black R32 one of these days when I've finished a few builds and have the room😏

I remember in the early 2000's nobody wanted these & they were 25k lol. I can't believe I chose an R33 GTS-T over this for the same price ! 😭😂 Just goes to show how lucky Australia was to get all the JDM cars back then before the USA got their hands on them ! It's only when the USA started to import them that the prices went crazy high and ridiculous !✌

I owned one of these in Melbourne 2007-2009. It had a nice 320kph nismo speedo and went all the way to 9000rpm. I woke up my hungover workmate in the passenger seat......We were doing 263kph topped out on our way to work down Westall Rd Clayton 4:30am haha! Good times!

My "attainable dream car" when I first played Gran Turismo and got a used GTS-T, the current prices make it questionable though - think it's worth it? Keen to see your perspective of a Dodge Viper too, they where my original dream car as a child.
No words for this one. Except wow.. Jealous. Driving one in Australia would be mad. but japan as well. Once in a lifetime.
