    I was able to spawn objects on my table recognized by the quest 3, seeing things interact with real object in my room without even create a digital environment is mind blowing for me! I would like to create some interactive experience in which you can use/touch physical object in your room to activate some behaviour in the digital environment, this seems achievable! Can't wait to see what you and other devs will be able to do with all this!

    Hey. I'm using MQ3 for work, but I'm not satisfied with monitors clarity in Immersed app. Can you suggest how to adjust my set of Meta Quest 3 and MacBook air M1 to have the best quality picture this set is able to provide. Maybe I have to adjust monitors size in Immersed app, or make something on MacBook. Thank you.

    Great video! I use the Meta-OpenXR plugin in Unity. Is there any way on turning on the new room scanning with this component? Or do I have to install the Oculus Integration? And do Meta-OpenXR and Oculus Integration work well together? Thanks!

  • @dilmerv

    @dilmerv

    9 ай бұрын

    The Meta OpenXR plugin developed by Unity doesn’t work well with the Oculus Integration, in fact it causes a lot of problems & conflicts. As for the Spatial features with OpenXR, you can use scene understanding (through AR Foundation) and I know it works but it requires you to have the scene setup model in advance. I remember Unity mentioning a WIP where they will be adding support to prompt your users to initiate the scene setup during app launch, I need to get back to you on that. Thanks for your question!

    Good to know, thanks for the info. Will be switching to Oculus Integration. No big deal as I will be developing mainly for the Quest 3 anyways 😊 Great device. And the room scanning feature (with the upcoming occlusion) is a game changer for me (and my customers).

    Great questions, as far as I know Image Tracking is not supported, there is QR Code recognition since that’s how you paid the headset but not exposed to devs yet. Post processing with passthrough I am not sure, I will find out and include that info in a future video, thanks

  • @ivanaguilar2856

    Great video. Do you know if there is any way to track AR images/markers or 3D objects, similar to how you can do this with the HoloLens or the Magic Leap? Can you integrate 3rd party tools like Vuforia and 8th wall? How about using OpenCV to run image processing to detect things in the camera feed? It would be great to see some videos on this so developers can make use of all of the existing features from these AR tools, especially for professional/business uses.

  • @dilmerv

    Great feedback Ivan thank you. I will look into this in depth this weekend and see how I can answer all this questions. I am very confident that QR Code and object type detection is coming soon, currently the headset has built-in QR Code detection so I imagine is just a matter of exposing that and more to developers.

  • @ivanaguilar2856

    @ivanaguilar2856

    9 ай бұрын

    Thank you. It would be great if you could look into this. Yeah, there is QR code detection during the setup. I hope this can be exposed later on to developers so we don't just get if a QR code is detected and the text information it contains but also its pose information. What I really hope is if they expose the camera feed so we can use OpenCV to do image processing and also expose the depth sensor data to access point clouds. This would allow for a lot more AR use cases. This would bring it closer to what you can access even when compared to other devices like the Microsoft Kinect, Intel RealSense, and the ZED Mini camera.

    Personally I would go with this over the glasses specifically sold for watching movies today, there are many from different companies offered but in my opinion this gives you a completely different experience. You can watch movies, 360 videos, also experience mixed reality which will just get more and more popular.

    Unity is the best for VR/AR, Unreal is good but it still lacks a lot of features available in a variety of toolkits available for Unity so most of the time Unity would be ahead with XR. Libraries: there are many: Unity XR Toolkit, MRTK 3, AR Foundation, Needle Tools for WebXR, and many more but that can get you started.

    What abou fatigue? Can you write code on those virtual screens? What does it look like? Do your eyes hurt after a while, do they get dry, do you get dizzy? I still believe working with virtual screens is fun to play for 1-2 hours, but personally I can’t work with it for longer periods. I wear contacts and they get very very dry when I do it. The image quality is great with the new Quest 3 lenses, not 4K but it is very good and you can read all the text on your virtual screens perfectly. I don’t normally get dizzy with VR and since there’s not a lot of movement I believe you will be fine.
