Sport Chrono package also gives Auto-Revmatching for the manual and Launch Control with PDK. You also get the Sport Plus mode. Not just an expensive clock :) (except in the GT models).

This GTS has everything I want in a 911.....no more no less. Plenty of power, rear spoiler that raises and lowers, center lock wheels. I love how it looks!

Yeah this is super balanced car. Perfect option and the power is enough. 450 PS and still the acceleration it has made me feel like in 600 PS car.

GTS is the best sounding in the Carrera range!

Took delivery of mine a few months back. Coming from a 2012 C2S, it's very different experience. Very happy with the GTS and agree with your review. I think for those who want a more aggressive daily and look, the GTS is the perfect package. Also like the debadgjng on the door the dealer did, I did the same👍🏻

Hi Tim,good review, detailed description of the car as always!! This model is quite good, it looks beautiful,but probably the only Porsche I'd buy it'd be the "R" version or the GT3 like that you've ordered!! I've been wishing that porsche,very soon will be making for all his models the previous aspirated engine that is more engaging!!

It is really a sweet spot car. not too flashy, but still nice.; sort of sporty but still practical, sort of exotic but still reliable.

The 997.1s feels pretty fast to me. I took mine to the Peak District a few weeks ago and had a blast. This has 100 horsepower more and is considered pretty tame to modern standards. You are a lucky man Shmee.

Amazing car love the way it’s fast as a gt3 on a track and faster on public roads yet can be a daily driver just fine and with options like burnmester stereo it’s just a perfect car IMO

Shmee.. You used to upload later in the day. I'd watch your uploads while I eat supper. Now you upload earlier and I can't help myself so I watch them. I eat my dinner in silence now.

the GTS is more a daily driver due to the turbocharged generated torque in low RPM areas. But it is NOT a daily driver GT3! I have driven both (as you might know ;)). It's a matter of taste if you like the power coming out of the car with high revs or with low revs. Nevertheless you can use a GT3 as a daily driver too!

The GTS is design wise and in terms of the required performance the best 911 model!! The alcantara in the inside, the black details and rims look so attractive :) I wish I will be able to drive the new 911 GTS someday **

Can you turn off the auto rev matching in sport +? Like my brain is hard wired to rev match especially while driving hard.

One thing that the smoking tire as well as nick murray mentioned is that the optional lift system is an absolute must for this car. Because of the lowered suspension, the new front splitter and the long overhangs you 'll scrape everywhere otherwise.

Well I got the drive the 991 119.2 GTS GT3G² X with the optional Flux Capacitor

While I love and prefer the GT3 I think that, in the hands of the right tuner and in the right spec, the GTS will obliterate the GT3 in a straight line and perhaps even around corners. It has so much potential

Great presentation on distinguishing the difference between the 911's three car line up, and great insight on what to expect from them. I will order the GT3 simply because it is the right fit for me, and the fact that Porsche didn't limited it like its siblings, the 911 R or GT3 RS. I've already create the color I want, (Blue) and drive train that I know a lot of people will disagree with me on picking, the PDK over standard. For me personally, the PDK's take off is much faster than the standard. The fact of the matter is that I will never use it on the top end, hitting a fraction of a second slower at 197 mph vs standard 911 GT3's top end at 198 mph. However, I can still be involved with this incredible machine's PDK paddle shifts, thus giving me a clear win :-)

There is no need to justify the specification you choose. It's Porsche's intention that every Porsche will be customised to its buyer and suit them perfectly. That's why most of the features are optional. It's not stinginess or some trick to make you pay more, it's about giving you as much or as little (i.e.: lightweight) as you want.

The GTS is a daily driver car if you want it to be. I have the PDK and I also have an old 997 Carrera S tiptronic, which is also a daily driver car. The GTS is a very fast car btw. Just in case you were going to buy one.

A car can't be to perfect not involving enough is something else entirely in my opinion

Finally a "regular" 911 which surpasses my 996tt in power. But can't touch the torque:450lb/ft. My car was originally $147k. Schmee is trying to make people feel better if they can't get the new gt3.

There is definitely something special about the GTS.

I get the comparison between the GTS and GT3. But how about the Turbo or Turbo S? Price tags aside, would you rather go for a Turbo or stick with the GTS?

This test car should have the sport chrone clock in guards red. I think the Targa GTS is the perfect 911. The only problem is that the price difference with a GT3 with a nice spec is almost non existent. And a GT3 or RS doesn't depreciate that much so in the end it's a better deal.

No-one cross-shops the Targa vs the GT3. Most Porsche people view the new Targa as a fashion accessory while the GT3 is a daily driver for track day addicts. The Targa is the heaviest 911 in the lineup with the least stiff chassis and doesn't appeal to Porsche purists despite the Targa heritage.

Sahil Waheed Depends on budget. I bought a 2014 Citroen C1 Airscape Flair, great first car but is also extremely fun to drive on a tight, twisty road (I was keeping up with a Porsche 911 GT3 a few days ago on a country road)

Think this is worthwhile over the Carrera S? Going to get one of them in December
