Is The PMP Exam getting harder?

These days many people are failing the PMP exam. Students are reaching out to us through emails and through various social networking channels and we noticed a similar trend that more and more people are failing the PMP exam. Does it mean that PMP exam has been made difficult by PMI?
Maybe but that is something that is not in your control. Things that are in your control are categorized into the top 5 reasons why people fail the PMP exam on their first attempt.
Reason Number 5
Being Lazy or Procrastination
Preparing for PMP certification involves a lot of hard work. People pick up the PMP book but because they have too many things going on in their personal and professional lives or in fact are just lazy they don’t study properly and fail the PMP exam. They don’t take PMP certification seriously.
Reason Number 4
Overconfident
You will be surprised to know that many people are so overconfident that they go for the exam half prepared and end up failing the PMP exam.
Reason Number 3
Didn’t get the right mentor or support
One of the most important reasons why people fail the PMP certification exam is that they don’t get the right mentor support from the training company they enrolled in. They attended a 4 or 5 or 6-day training and the mentor is nowhere to be seen after the training is done.
Reason Number 2
Time Management Issues
Test takers are not able to complete the test on time. PMP exam questions are tough and tricky. They are scenario-based questions and because of that people spend more time in attempting the PMP questions.
Reason Number 1
Did not wear the PMI Hat
Finally, the most important reason is that they do not wear the PMI hat while attempting the PMP questions. They did not have the right PMP mindset for attempting those questions.

Good summary Varun! Having a good mentor is crucial for success at PMP. Points 1 and 2 are major factors in failure and a good mentor would surely point them out before it's too late!

Great Video Varun. You are an absolute mentor. Other reasons which i could think are Anxiety, Studying till last minute, Lack of tips and tricks, Lack of motivation, Positivity and not having good rest the day before the exam

Varun by far is the best Mentor one can have to pass the exam. I had failed in my 1st attempt where i studied from other source. I reached out eduhub and was personally guided by Varun and Soumya. I took access to all Eduhub videos and studied the way they suggested. One should study was Task and Process group. I passed PMP with Above target. Exam was harder than 1st attempt but i made sure i got my concepts right from eduhub videos. Thanks Varun and team- God bless you with more success.

Training for PMP in 2020 & 2021 exam vs the current test that there is a significantly higher % of questions that are related to Agile which is more than previously. And more to do with "what should the PM do" (as pmbok/PMI). I have had to get acquainted with Agile and the exam type questions.

Hello Varun, I found your video by coincidence while looking for other resources on KZread. I don't know about others, but honestly, when you speak, I feel that you are authentic. Everything you said here is true. When I was going to take my PMP exam, I wrote down on a piece of paper the following: - Wear the PMI hat - Don't delegate unless you have to, and only after you run out of the options that are under your authority - Don't forget PMI ethics - Believe in yourself👍 - Be a proactive manager - Remember: The questions are scenario-based - Use the elimination/Einstein/Amstrong techniques What I mentioned above, and with your servant leadership, I could pass the PMP exam in my first attempt. Now, I need some tips to pass PMI-ACP please! 😂😂😂 Thank you for your support and commitment to helping more project managers clear the PMP exam.

What do you mean to wear PMI hat? Could you please elaborate as I am preparing for the PMP exam?

  • @EduHubSpot

    @EduHubSpot

    8 ай бұрын

PMI hat means PMI mindset. What do I mean by that is you need to think in a particular way to answer the pmp questions which are not necessarily same as how/what you think in real world. Let me explain you a situation: let’s say you are working on a project and issue came: what will be your first step? In real world, you will immediately try to resolve that issue but in Pmi world you will first think, analyze and follow a process to resolve that issue. This is just one example but there are multiple examples like these. I would recommend you to watch my PMI mindset playlist on KZread. I think there are total of 12-13 short videos explaining about the entire Pmi mindset/hat. Good luck Varun
