I was like "oh, sheeet that movie is huge in the LA Chicano community. I asked who he was and she showed me a picture of Popeye!! You missed the most insane part… Emilio was played by an extremely Caucasian man with a wig and brown contacts… that’s why this movie caused a huge uprising. He also sings the song at the end. Absolute insane of the film makers to make these decisions.

This movie had a good story line. 🤷🏽‍♂️ good enough for back then but Robby Benson was a poor decision. For me the way he talked was annoying. Whispered throughout the entire movie. His role was more of a characacher. It’s like having Supereeego the cholo play a serious role as Supereego.

My grandparents lived in Lincoln Heights and I spent whole summer vacations and weekends there. There’s no movie theaters in Lincoln Heights, so we had to take the RTD bus to get around 👽
