My heart sank for you when you stripped the paint off the outer sill only to reveal more filler and another patch; and when you removed that, still more rust on the inner sill that needed to be cut out and replaced. As always, you got on and did the job thoroughly. It would have been nice to see the car primed up, but sometimes time runs out on you and we all need some sleep - even Ryan.

Awesome work. When I read Opel Manta, I had hoped maybe it's the A and not the B. Still is a fantastic built and restoration. I used to own 2 Manta A, one in Germany in 1992 and the other in the UK in 1997 - 99
fantastic work steve. good to see the man with the exceptionaly large biceps operating the bead rollers
Discovered the channel yesterday afternoon and have already binge-watched the entire Opel Manta resto. The level of skill and attention to detail is top-drawer. I've managed to maintain my old Renault Clio Sport myself, but if it ever needs fabrication work, I wouldn't hesitate to give you a call.

AWESOME VIDEO AS ALWAY'S and im really looking forward to bringing my Mk4 Astra Gsi to you guy's so you can see what you can do with it.
Always blown away by your ability to piece together multiple layers of body work that have just disappeared into dust. You use upol for weld through Dave who is building a MK 1 escort Mexico has been running a long term test on weld through & Halfords with its high zinc content seems to be the most resistant to the moist welsh climate
@yorkshirecarrestoration

Yes I have seen that thank you, upol seems to work well for me as it's harder to flash off, guess it's all down to what temp you weld at or how long you stay on the trigger :)
Looking good Steve! One question- if you are using fiberglass filler on the top side to cover pinholes, couldn't they rust out from behind if you don't use fiberglass filler on the bottom side of the arch also?

Love this car. You’ve certainly worked your magic on it Steve ❤
Nice and fast work Steve👍🏻
I like the effort in returning it to its former glory. Looks great. I noticed you didn't put the seam in where the rocker and the rear quarter meet. Is there a reason you didn't build the inner rocker and lap the quarter over the top as it should be? More curiosity than anything. The car looks brilliant regardless.

Steve, wish you would indicate some idea of the hours you have put into the work involved in these episodes. I know this does not take two minutes to do and I appreciate the awesome work you do. If I get the time I will but it's all we can do making these videos as they are, me and Ryan are streched to the limit just getting g these videos out in the current format and still trying to keep them entertaining. Ryan is working 7 days a week and every hour he has free and editing one 20 min videos takes two days, even the royalty free music that feels right for the video takes hours to find. We are however always trying to improve our videos but it's a slow process as we are very limited on time :)

@@yorkshirecarrestoration i appreciate the time that goes into it Steve, I don’t know how you do it all. It would just be nice for everyone to understand the hours involved as you watch a 20 min video and it’s like by magic all done and I know from doing bits myself it eats up hours. Appreciate all you do keeping us entertained and the craft and skill you have. Keep up the good work you’ve become my favourite channel, I could watch you for hours. Poor old Ryan it’s going to wreck himself if he keeps on at this rate…… but don’t stop him banging out the videos or I’ll get withdrawal symptoms if I’ve nothing to watch as I hardly ever watch normal tv anymore. Ha ha that’s gold I was just thinking as you started sanding down the arch out a mask on that dust fibre dust is really awful for your lungs… Then hey presto … not just a mask but goggles too! Love watching your work.
Very nice. But a question: Why don't you use rust preventive paint before you apply the glass-fiber?
@yorkshirecarrestoration

No need, water shouldn't be getting under there fibre glass and if it is no form of rust protection paint will ever stop it rusting. :) 👍

Watched a guy - Sylvester Customs - Steve - he does bodywork. I do bodywork all day every day same as you do - I've an Escort Mexico just finished for a customer - rust repairs. That Escort went out with bodywork straighter than George Clooney due to learnings from Sylvester Customs. I had it all primed - somewhere else is painting it - I painted one small bit to see how it would look. Absolute glass.. You'd like his videos - don't care how great anyone thinks they are, what they know, always be learning. I know you're a bright guy - check out a few of Travis's videos - the guy has different ideas to the usual. He can teach even old dogs new tricks that bring extra money to the table.
After watching all the great videos and amazing work that have gone into this Manta, I’m really hoping we get to see the car after paint….. please 🙏
Hi Steve. As usual the devil is in the details.
Normally Opels in the UK are labeled as Opels subsidiary Vauxhall. Why isn’t the Opel Manta a Vauxhall Manta though? Is that car from mainland Europe or Ireland?

@Tobi-In9xr @yorkshirecarrestoration It's from the days where Vauxhall and Opel products were sold in the UK side by side. Some models didn't ever get a Vauxhall badge. It's probably a UK spec & registered car. There was a Vauxhall badged coupe version (with a slightly different front) - the Cavalier Sports Hatch. Superb work, and as always, a fascinating watch, by the way!
PLEASE...PLEASE...sort some proper PPE out for yourself and Ryan...and some basic dust extraction whist working. .those dust masks are usless.. I work with GRP and filler, so know a bit or two, and the dangers. Even a Henry with a decent filter is better than nothing...and think twice about using blowers it just moves it on for the next person to breath in !...Ryan is only young and has to spend the next Zillion years finishing the Z !........Rant over....really loving the show....CHEERS
