i dont care about 1440p, i dont care about 5 min less charging time, i dont care about better touch sampling or faster wifi, i dont care about 0.000000% better camera .... but i want to put my phone on the wireless charger in my office like i do with my 4 y.o. current phone .... LMAO

It felt more like a discussion on wireless charging rather than a comparison. It would be better stated with shortcomings on both the devices. For OP11, it’s only IP64 rated and USB 2.0. For S23, its lack of faster charging rates and lower Screen on time, 1080p panel rather than 1440p. User experience matters a lot and very little mention about that and also cameras are better on S23 because of better processing algorithms. Also: UFS 4.0 is not available on 699 model for OP11 and only on 799 model, same for S23, not available on 128gb model.

Marques did come out in this video as a fanboy who's using spec sheet to compare phones. Like I've seen bunch of camera comparisons of the OP 11 vs other phones, and it's above average at best when compared to the competition. What happened to speakers, software(especially that he always complain about OP's new software), suddenly he has no problem with curved screens, didn't mention speakers, the better software support you get with samsung, the better costumer service, and bunch of other stuff that he didn't talk about. I felt like I was watching a discussion about wireless charging, not actual user experience of both phones and why one is better than another

Two quick thoughts: 1. Am from India and I rarely see people using wireless charging here. And I’m sure this is true for most Asian countries, which make up the majority of OnePlus’ market 2. People get used to these minor UI quirks pretty soon - they use the same phone for 3/4 years and aren’t switching between phones frequently like you guys do. So unless it is a major annoyance which affects the users significantly, I think they’re fine :)

Not true for most asian countries. China, korea and japan have free wireless charging spots in alot of public places and people often use it.

Yeah but the S23 is still better. Gamers in India will get Iqoo 11 as that's better. The cameras on the S23 will improve significantly with updates because Samsung have streamlined their computational photography work by making the main camera on the Ultra have exactly 4 times the number of pixels as that on the regular S series. So updates will make the camera much better over time. Oneplus in recent times are bad with updates not just in terms of regularity which is fine but the quality of the updates. Things like battery life suddenly get way worse. It is not at all clear that Oneplus will fix the UI glitches and sus benchmarks whereas it is a sure bet that the S23 camera especially will be crazy good in six months time. And of course, Samsung have vastly superior customer service. I can see gamers rightly preferring Iqoo 11 but there's not much of a case for the 11 until it drops significantly in price to about 50,000 rs fairly quickly

The one thing thats making it difficult for me to switch from OnePlus to any brand is the fast charging.

It charges 0-100 in 27 min. Who cares that it doesn't have wireless. Literally only needs to be plugged in for 15-20 min a day. Get over it. it's 699 and I would rather they skimp on that than the ram or chipset or screen.

Definitely looking forward to daily driving it when I receive it... Too many people think if it's not an iPhone, pixel or Galaxy phone it's nothing and those are all great phones but News bulletin People, there are OTHER just as good and even better phones than those

It has 80W charging, which really makes a difference and so I would take it over wireless charging, since charging wirelessly is a slow and inefficient process

I'm charging my 1+ 8 pro with 30w wireless charger and it's the only, convenient way I charge my phone so for me non-wireless charging phone is a no-no.

I barely use wireless charging. The main concern is the speed of the charging. As someone said in the comment section, its basically a first world obsession. Wish the op 11 had the same energy efficient screen like Samsung and Iqoo tho!

I agree, but wireless charging is faster now. 50w for One Plus, but I don't dig the heat they generate. That degrades the battery quicker. No thanks. I'm not one of those dudes who buys a new phone every year. I need my phone to last a long time lol

Never had wireless charging, never needed it. Plus, I kinda love just old-school feel of plugging in the cable to charge. Feels mechanical. 😅

In a lot of other countries, wireless charging is still not a norm. But I can see why its absence can be annoying once you start using it.

My phone has wireless charcing too, but tools are a bit expensive here, a cable and adapter is way cheaper and sometimes ever more useful. And I use the phone with a cover that I dont like to remove often.

The S23 has wireless charge, Samsung Dex, extra Samsung exclusive features, way bettering front facing camera, smaller form factor (some people appreciate that), better more consistent updates, video lock screen, better fingerprint scanner, ect.... Marques is really trying Soo hard to find the good in OnePlus when this brand died years ago...

@@NukedAbe Well I never used Dex and never saw someone who uses Dex either. Samsung exclusive features are not things people wanted that much. Bixby routines are awesome,notifications and that custom themes are so stable and great too but no one would sacrifice 1440p 120hz screen for those. Smaller form factor isnt a good feature either, even iPhone 13 mini is cancelled and replaced with a Plus model. To me OnePlus made a good hardware, but software can be the dealbreaker for this phone. But thats all. If it has all the features you need, thats the phone to get Marques says.

Why is wireless charging such a deal for people? Takes half a second to plug a phone in, and at least you know it's plugged in, it's usually faster, and can easily use it while plugged in too

for me oneplus 6 was the peak phone. Every phone i used after that I felt lacked something My requirements for a phone are good battery life,fast charging , decent camera , good support when there is some issue, storage ,good sound quality and call quality. All the gimmicks are useless to me. but no company makes all of it in a phone. Not even oneplus anymore feels sad . Waiting for oneplus to come back with a bang

My OP10 Pro has wireless charging . Never used it or considered it to be a deal breaker on any device, as its a feature that has no significant impact or benefit other than "convenience". That whole deal really does have a first world problem feel behind it.

I have a OnePlus 9 Pro with wireless charging, and I prefer cable charging. It's faster, and allows me to continue using the phone while it's charging. You can't use the phone while it's on a charging pad. And even when I do wireless charge, it's so slow. I understand why they ditched it. I'm sure there is OnePlus user data to support that decision.

You're missing the point of wireless charging. It's not a wireless replacement for wired charging. It's a different feature. Wireless charging is passive, while wired charging is active.

Perhaps... but I doubt it. It seems much more likely it was a willing sacrifice to cut costs rather than a calculated response to customers not using it. If there was significant enough data on that, then every other company wouldn't be pushing it into their phones (especially not Apple). OP has honestly lost their touch, and the internal issues of the company really reflect this as each iteration for the last 5 years has missed the mark in some major way.

Maybe you don't like wireless charging and it doesn't work for you and is slow. The fact is that nobody said that wireless charging is fast or superfast, but having wireless is convenient to have. I like that I can set my phone down, add some additional charge to the battery anytime while I'm home or the office...while saving wear and tear on the USB port. And with some of the new device and vehicle mounts from companies like ProClip USA, you can actuality charge your phone wireless. Wireless charging is about convenience and nothing else.... If you've had it, you don't want to give it up. OnePlus continues to disappoint, in having a crappy camera, using cheaper version of Gorilla Glass and eliminated the USB-C charging cable setup (which has become industry standard)

No, he's not missing the point. With that much fast charging, you're never gonna use the wireless charging anyway. In under 15 min, you'll get 50% charge.

Yes even while it's another and additional feature, with 80w to 100w charging it simply won't be needed when you can charge 0-100 in at least 30 minutes. Less if it already has some juice in it.

It is interesting how it comes down to wireless charging, as apple doesn’t even include a fast charger in the box . I like wired charging as time wise . Phones have become so boring. I barely use wireless charging on my pixel 5

Fast charger is something you can buy later on. But you can't easily add wireless charging onto a phone, if doesn't come with it.

@@deltadom33 that's not the point I'm trying to make. I'm annoyed at companies like Apple and Samsung removing the charger from the box (no matter what stupid justification they give). I'm just saying, not getting a charger in the box and not having an inbuilt wireless charging coil is different. One is fixable the other isn't. If wireless charging is important to you, you just have to frgt about the one plus completely, but if you don't have old charger at home, the iPhone or a S23 is still an option you just have to spend extra for a brick.

If they bring something like wifi charging on whatever where just waves charge the phone, you'll start thinking wireless charging was inconvenient. @𝖎𝖙𝖆𝖈𝖍𝖎 Yes after a threshold, the increase in tech is not proportional to its use. All tech isn't equal. The shift from horses to cars was a big shift. Shifting from normal wheels to alloy wheels isn't a big thing. Not all tech changes are as useful as the companies which make profit claim it to be.

swipe to dismiss and even notification expand/one touch music player jump all seem to work fine in Oxygen OS 13 (Android 12) so not sure why the newer version seems to have lost this functionality. poor planning and testing?

I'm the same with the iphone. Reason I don't use an iphone is because of the back navigation. Having to reach for the back button to go back is the worst part of using an iphone. I love the back navigation on Android. Quick flick from the side and you're done 👍

I think there's going to be huge difference in camera department. Even if oneplus has better setup, they lack behind in computational photography.

@@cedricol I forgot which phone it was, but it could just do a no shits straight photo with the built in module in a mode. And they looked really really good. Considering that I've done solid photos on my old Xcover2 with an 8Mp camera with probably 0 software. I'm pretty sure current cameras aren't gonna be that bad. Espeically with Samsungs' newer 50-200Mp cameras, the files will be huge, but they have enough pixels for the right detail.

I just bought an S23 after ditching my old OnePlus 7. And while I understand these "hard facts" I still don't think I agree. What had bothered me most on the OnePlus over all those years was, that it was just too big. The S23 is phenomenal just because it is an upper class option in a compact form factor. A breed that is nowadays not easy to find. The second most important thing for me was wireless charging, which was introduced only with the OP8 Pro and is still not available for the non-pro variants. Also, yes, OnePlus might promise good Android updates support this time, but I still got one update less, than I initially thought I would get. Therefore I do not trust into OnePlus' strategy here and I am really, really much more happy with my S23 so far than I have ever been with the OP7.

That's why I bought the S22. The best form factor that's big enough (bigger than iPhone mini) but small enough to be an easy one hander and very convienent. There are a dwindling amount of small (ish) phones that actually have great specs - battery aside :(

It's just too big and wireless charging turned out to be more important for me in an more active lifestyle I have now. Having your phone dying on your bike equipped with wireless charging is more than just a stupid inconvenience.

@Patrick Hanft I get that you prefer a smaller phone. But with this battery and chipset, I think you may have been ok. Being on a bike, I'm assuming you aren't using the screen (unless you are using GPS an inordinate amount of time). So all you'd be doing is music streaming?

I only had wireless charging in one phone so far - the Huawei P30 Pro. The wireless charger was included and I used it maybe 3 times. It was slow and it wasn't really wireless since I needed a cable for the charger lol. I see no point now with my Oppo that has 65W charging. I really don't get why people get so annoyed if a phone has no wireless charging with the high speeds of charging available on phones nowadays. BTW. I miss that amazing zoom camera from the P30 Pro. I wish they focused more on that now. Am I the only one using the zoom lens a lot?

I'm using Huawei P30 till now. You are right, the zoom features is so useful not only in photography, but also to see something far away like a food menu or something. Sadly, you would probably have to pay for $1000 for a phone that could perform a good and far zoom now.

My s23 ultra has the best zoom capabilities I have ever seen on a phone.

I bought this phone but im still frustrated with no wireless charging. In my experience my charging ports dont last long. Maybe I suck at plugging things in, but my last LG charging port lasted 1 year and i had to charge it wirelessly. Im scared samething will happen to my one plus and im stuck with no way to charge it

I charge my phone for like 10-20 mins while I get dressed in the morning and I'm good until the next morning. I rarely need to charge outside again or at other times of day. I tried to like wireless charging on my Nexus 4, 5, and 6 (Google ditched it for 3 years after that), but I just couldn't deal with the slow speeds and inability to use my phone while it was charging. Nowadays, wired charging is too fast to justify slow charging, and with electricity rates up nearly 40%, I'd rather not be using 40% more power to charge my phone via inefficient induction coils.

But hear me out. Every time you're not using your phone, with some effort, you could be charging your phone. All you gotta do is place your phone at the right place. Effectively your phone will always have a good charge at home unless you've been using it.

I would love for you guys to look into thermals and wireless charging coils. A friend of mine had a theory that devices with wireless charging coils hold more heat than those without. Idk how that theory can be put to the test but it makes a little sense.

Good idea, it's like another layer where a vapor chamber could be. You could have better cooling without a coil in the way. The coil is *insulated* too. That doesn't help cooling either

I own the S23 Ultra for 2 weeks now and I've been wirelessly charging it for at least 8 days in a row (extremely convenient when getting home with a low charge level and quickly putting the phone away or trickle charging it overnight with a Bixby routine). Both the battery and CPU NEVER exceed 38 degrees celcius even under the highest loads (games, installing or updating apps/system), under normal load it's between 26 and 32 degrees. It has both a wireless charging coil and a large enough vapor chamber which distributes the heat nicely and evenly across the touching surface, these 2 are NOT shared in the same surface. I can confidently say the heat claim is BS.

@@zaka2630 the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a really efficient chip and it runs extremely cool. But in all fairness, the only way to really test it out is to somehow have an S23 ultra that does not have a charging coil and see which one runs at cooler temperatures.

@@antonio_luis the test will be completely irrelevant. The S23 ultra at this state already runs cooler than any other smartphone I've ever seen. Removing the coil will change nothing, I would still see the extremely cool temperatures while using the phone normally.

I have the 30w wireless charger from the OnePlus 8 pro. I rarely use it on my 10pro. The 65w charger we got in NA is perfect. 80w on the 11?? Even better. Plus that giant battery. Insane.

Eu version has 100w. It takes for me like 35 minutes from 0 to 100. Maybe even less manufacturer is telling that it takes about 25 minutes

You can swipe away notifications to the left too. You just have to swipe all the way across the screen. You're right about not being able to expand notifications the same though

As someone who went from OnePlus to samsung this year, specs are not the only thing that matter. OnePlus lacks a lot when it comes to user experience.

But if they can't make a solid a54 or 44, I'm switching to the pixel7 despite it lacking the 120Hz screen. Because the Pixel7 offers wireless charging and doesn't have some exonys chip from 3 years ago. And then hope google develops a cheap-ish heart rate monitor ring.

@@Daniel-dj7fh I think the only thing lacking in the A53 was QC and the processor. I have an A52 rn, and I'll probably upgrade to either an S23 or a Pixel 7. Still quite on the fence though.

I'm personally still using my OnePlus 7t pro. It's still fluid, good looking, no complaints. it's the sixth smartphone I've ever had, I've never used wireless charging. Last year, i thought I would never buy a OnePlus again, but this smartphone changed my mind. Now it most probably will be a Google pixel or a OnePlus.

Even the regular 9 had wireless charging. I am kinda used to wireless charging but when you have 80w charging I have no complaints about not having wireless charging

In Europe we have 100w. It takes about 30 minutes from zero to hundred.

I have the 10T, I absolutely love it. I know the camera it's not the best but that's not the reason I bought the phone. Believe me, once you try the 160 W charger, you cannot go back to traditional 40W. It's so convenient you cannot imagine. Besides the fact that I can easily see when the battery gets around 85% charged and I can disconnect it, just brushing your teeth and getting dressed gives you enough juice for easily half a day, we're not even talking about taking showers anymore.

Every phone I've had has had wireless charging, I've never used it once. I'm in the majority that doesn't use it.

See, I mostly agree but I actually really like OneUI. It feels like Samsung does a better job of carrying the Android spirit of total customization than Google and by extension other OS's based on AOSP. I also think 6.7" phone is just way too fat. If OnePlus made a 6.1" or 6" version for $599, I would cop it in a heartbeat.

On wireless charging, I never use it mostly because I don't have a wireless charger and I really don't visit places where they have wireless charging available to customers. But, I would love to have a wireless charger once they are affordable.

Would have bought it, if it had USB 3.1, and a bigger primary sensor. Thinking of buying the Pixel.

I've never had wireless charging. I ended up getting a killer deal on the base model OP11 (only $559 after tax), so I upgraded to it from my OP8T. I really like the phone so far.

If I had to get a phone right now then it would probably be the Vivo x90 pro (after checking the camera comparison for global variants). It has a better ip 68 rating vs Oneplus's IP 64. However, Oneplus has longer software support (4 on OP vs 3 on Vivo). The S23 also has a certain appeal as a compact phone. I am also considering the upcoming Techno Phantom Fold (depending on software support).

I'm currently rocking a Vivo 80 Pro and won't be buying another Vivo for the foreseeable future. Out-of.-the-box experience was extremely buggy for the first 6 months of use, until SW updates gradually corrected the issues. It's OK now, even if the UI is a little juttery at times, but battery life is awful. It's a miracle if I ever get to 5:30h SoT. Vivo makes great camera phones (the camera on this phone really is amazing) but the overall experience, for heavy users, lacks a lot of polish IMO. The X80 Pro takes AMAZING pics, they really fine-tuned the camera on that one. For the X90 Pro, I get the impression they haven't spent enough time adapting their algos to the new sensor, so if I were to get another Vivo, I'd probably wait for the X...100?

@@travsformation1 Rocking the Vivo X60. Not a fan of funtouch OS but can't complain about the performance and SoT as a heavy user (4:30 to 5 hours) given the battery. No lag or UI jitter experienced in 2 years of use. Had some issues with updates cand call drops though which have been resolved. Vivo/Oppo do not offer an unlocked Bootloader which creates a planned obsolescence. May consider Moto/Samsung/Nothing for my next phone.

@@ihsanmb Yes. Unfortunately, the pro plus is China only. Vivo should offer 4 years of software/security updates without gimping the performance.

I don't get the hype around wireless charging. With a wire it's faster with most phones, and you don't have to buy a wireless charger. Also it's not hard to plug a cable into a phone. Also the little things he brings up are so nitpicky.

They're trying to market the "next big money maker" that's why and it starts with hyping it up wireless charging is dumb because most people want to be able to use their phones while charging

Does the One Plus 11 Pro work with a Verizon Sim? And also, is it IP68 water resistant?

Help pls! Took delivery of my Oneplus 11. Big problem, unable to answer any incoming calls - the screen remains completely black. When I remove the TPU case I purchased then the problem does not happen. The case is good quality and all cut outs etc are accurate and not impeding any sensors. The case is not squeezing any buttons. Double tap to wake the screen also only functions if the case is removed. Very strange. I’m guessing it’s related to the curved edge screen profile.

I'd still choose the S23 over the OP11 as it's smaller and so fits in my hands better

I think Samsung might be expensive but give a little wait and u will soon see discounts and exchange offers and all that which eventually lowers down the price quite a much. Also OneUI is better than OP-UI.

Pretty much never use wireless charging.. My last 3 or 4 phones had it and only used it when I got some water in the port and it didn't allow me to charge with cable for a while.

My phones have wireless charging but I find I plug them in to charge more than I charge wirelessly. It comes in handy in the car, but if it went away it wouldn’t be a big deal. I guess I charge more on the go or at work and wireless is impractical in those cases.

So let's say if OnePlus, before launching 11, had taken a poll on Twitter: 1. 80w Charging brick inside the box. 2. 50w Wireless Charging capability. Which do you think would have won? I'm pretty sure it would've been the first one.

@@itachi333 Well that's you. I'm talking about the majority. Most people don't even know wireless charging exist. US is not even their biggest market. It's countries like China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, basically mostly Asian markets. So they have to set their priorities right.

I never used Wireless charge. Bought the OP11 and loving it.

The ui or ux is the one thing u interact the most with on a smartphone, so i would gladly use the Samsung even if its feature less and more expensive than the oneplus than having to put up with an annoying or inconsistent ui. Also the Samsung is a better camera than oneplus bcos of better software algorithm. Overall Samsung is a more consistent smartphone than the oneplus and i think it is worth the extra $100

Ive always had wireless charging phones but just because it has doesnt give it a plus. Currently on my pixel 7. its still hella slow to charge plugged or wireless. Id rather have a feature like fast wired charging thats well implemented than a bad implemented wireless charging. Or even vice versa. Its less about the feature, but the implementation.

I have a OnePlus 11, it is not a perfect phone but they have already made the software changes that you mentioned, it would be interesting to hear your opinion of the phone now or at least in a few weeks when OxygenOS 14 comes out!!

I just got the new one plus 11. It's pretty good so far. Being a long time samsung user, I have to say the software is much better in samsung but one plus has the best specs and hardware.

What’s the use of wireless charging when it heats up and makes repairing complex?

How is the call quality on the s23 and op11?

Sounded like Andrew and David were really just running circles around the phone not having wireless charging... Is that like the only con? Isn't there any other feature of the phone that they wanna talk about. Not everyone needs/prefer wireless charging and I think even if a consumer wanted wireless charging they would like understand that OP had to cut prices somewhere.

I feel the same about the Pixal 7 Pro vs S23. Pixal is 749 and it has a lot more features for less money. Same goes for the OnePlus. I would buy the OnePlus or Pixal 7 Pro over the S23. Your getting screwed buying a S23. It's Ultra or another company. If you don't buy a top of the line Samsung then they aren't worth the money for there other lines. Great video

yeah but the s23 doesn't look goofy, oneplus does.

I have a Oneplus 9 which has 65 watt charging, which is really fast, and 15 watt wireless charging. I use the wireless charging all the time. I use a magnetic ring sticker which sort of mimics iPhone's MagSafe. Once Qi2 comes out, that will be a standard built into all phones. There's just no way I would buy the Oneplus 11 knowing that Qi2 is coming later this year/next year and having that convenience, especially since wireless charging is getting faster too. I'll wait to see if there's a Oneplus 11 Pro with wireless charging or just wait and see what the Oneplus 12 has in store.

I think its interesting you don't like the way notifications work, to be fair I've used a one plus phone for 4 years so I am used to how it works, but I like being able to quickly pull up the notification settings with the left swipe.

I’m looking at upgrading my iPhone 7 sometime soon because the battery has finally started degrading to a point where it’s impractical to use the phone. The two I have my eye on are the OP 11, and the Pixel 7

@@finechina1312 i have a Pixel 7 pro myself but the OnePlus 11 is a much better phone and I know cause I own it. With my OnePlus 11 it's way faster and the battery life can last me for 2 days and I got like 8 hours of SOT as well and on top of that it has way faster charging too. Also my OnePlus 11 works flawlessly on T-Mobile and Verizon. The OnePlus 11 has Esim so I have TMobile and Verizon on my OnePlus 11 and I get excellent reception everywhere I go plus it has longer updates than the pixel 7 pro so it's better to choose the OnePlus 11 over the pixel 7 pro. You're getting a better phone that's guarantee you to last 2 days and can keep it for years thanks to its years of support

I recently switched from my OP5T of 6.5 years to S23 Ultra. I knew I was missing on a lot with respect to OS advancements but man I was blown away. I was waiting all these years for a solid phone to switch from op5t because 5t is that good. It is still with me and it'll still be my secondary phone. But yeah you can swing with the s23 ultra or even s23 , you'll love the interface and the battery, Samsung has improved a lot.

Brother u didn't speak about OnePlus 11 not having ip68 rating which is also a negative point and which is there in s23 so can u pls give a brief explanation about this that atleast OnePlus 11 is splash resistance because I'm planning to buy OnePlus 11 but hesitating because of not having ip rating.. so do make a video on this

Hi All techie’s or phone enthusiast over here! Can you suggest me a recommendation please ! I’m using iPhone 12 right now and was a oneplus user in past from OP2 to OP7 then switched to iPhone 12 just for the experience, now want to shift to android back! I think what hurts the OnePlus is lack of trade in incentives. A LOT of carriers are pushing the S23 with really good deals. I managed to get on for a base model for $350. OnePlus has lacked some consistency and while the spec sheet looks good, it lacks the polish and overall experience of a Galaxy device. Wifi 7 hasn't been widely opted and is a high price of entry

Well right now the Oneplus 11 isn't on any US carriers and yes there are very few incentives to buy it, except the $100 off on the 256gb version. There are no incentives to buy the 128gb version that I know about. I think that is by far the best argument or criticism I've seen on here. I might be tempted to buy the 128gb version if there was an actual deal on it that I could use.

And when you try to trade in your current OnePlus phone to upgrade to a new phone, I've found that none of the cellular or phone companies will give you much in return. My awesome OnePlus phone for example MIGHT fetch me a $20 trade in credit if I'm lucky, and many retailers don't want the phone at all. Their phones have very little trade-in or resale value

My wife and I are using OP8 Pro and we love the performance and how consistent the phone is. Now we are getting the OP11 after 3 years of using OP8 Pro and are exciting to get the phone delivered soon. Read a lot of reviews and I truly believe that OP11 would not let me down.

I would have loved wireless chsrging but the op11 has such fast charging i rarely need to put it down to charge. Id say heat was a major issue with wireles charging.

its crazy how techies requirement for the latest and greatest changes over time. now wifi 7 over wifi 6 is not a big deal whereas back in the day every little advance implementation was required for it to be considered a flagship killer. not only for a killer but in general, requirements from the regular buyer to a enthusiast buyer has changed so much

I love OnePlus 11, it's smooth as butter and fast too. There's hardly any lag in my day to day use which includes emails, messages, social media and photography.

I had a Pixel 6. I missed Oneplus charging speeds on the Pixel more than I miss wireless charging on the OP11.

I never used wireless charging. Is it so needed ?

Is this a cultural thing or something? Coz I'm from India and I've NEVER seen wireless charging here. Personally I think it's stupid to choose the convenience of not having to plug in a cable over ridiculous fast charging. I never bothered to get a wireless charger even though my phone supports one.

Wireless charging is dumb. Hear me out. It is less consistent, causes battery deterioration faster, can’t use phone while charging and charges slowly. Even if I have all phones which support wireless charging, I will use the wired option since I have cables plugged in everywhere and all I use are iPhones. Also, I think apple’s magnetic wireless implementation makes more sense than the qi charging which generally comes, but still, a wired charging cannot hurt at all. Wireless is, for now, overhyped. You can include this in upcoming waveform trivia. Edit- oneplus also targets markets where wireless peripheral sales are low, i.e. India.

Never used wireless charging, seems bad for the ecology from my understanding. But Sammy def has better ecosystem: dex and much faster security updates. Also flat display, which I consider a feature nowadays. But 1+ is back and all power to them for 11th one- great phone.

This year oneplus11 misses the usb 3.1 support. Am I correct or not?

I have a Oneplus 8 pro. The UI isnt really good anymore. My next phone will be Samsung, I like the UI more and I have longer software support.

Getting the OnePlus 8 pro was the worst phone purchase in recent years. Went to the s21 ultra and am way happier

So what do we know about the s23 battery life right now?

How is the performance? And camera?

Why aren't Android's UI components modular, so you can install any "Notifications launcher" or whatever so that many 3rd party features are available, and everything is super customizable?

OnePlus put out a poll, asking users if they'd prefer ultra fast wired charging or fast wireless. About 80% of users who participated voted for the ultra fast wired charging option. OnePlus didn't forsake anything - they literally listened to customer desires.

This phone is 900 euro for the 256gb version is it worth? Or should i go for the s23 256gb? Wich is 1k in belgium

If I were to buy the OP11 and just use a normal charger and charge it overnight, is that a wee but better for the battery in the long term? My dad was telling me the other day that he'd rather just buy a regular charger and have it charge all night vs having to unplug it before bed.

The charging technology has come a long way with OnePlus. It won't degrade your battery much with fast charging. They control the thermals pretty well. I've used and abused the fast charger out the box on my op 9 pro for a year and only down to 97% battery health.

I think OnePlus 11's price is very aggressive and for that price it's a great phone. But OnePlus cut the cost in some key areas compared to Galaxy S23. No IP Rating No Wireless Charging USB 2.0 No 4K video recording in front camera Gorilla Glass 5 Optical in display fingerprint scanner.

Technically it's IP64 rated, but I get your point there. I think only the no 4k front camera is the only real valid argument.

I pre-ordered OnePlus. Tired of Samsung ridiculous pricing, not giving my region Snapdragon in the previous years and ditching the charger. Don't care about wireless charging, but worried a bit about IP 64... Well, the wireless buds in the pre-order sealed the deal for me. We'll see how it goes.

As long as you don't drop your phone in a pool/lake, you'll be fine. I've owned smartphones since they came out and never had an issue with water damage.

I have owned phones that has wireless charging for 7 years now and I have never used it. I always prefer wired charging because I can use my phone as it is charging. Also, it connects faster to android auto via wired connection. So, for me, that's not a concern and you spent almost the whole video talking about it :D For me, a 3.5mm jack and a microSD card are waaaaay more important. Even an FM radio or an IR blaster would be (which I never use) would be a more useful feature than wireless charging :D Man, the fact that it has a charging block THAT fast IN THE BOX is way more impressive than wireless charging.

if they placed the camera on the middle for symmetry it wouldve looked better, also they shouldve added ir blaster,sd card,jack,brighter sharp quad hd screen,louder speakers, and better UI optimization and upgraded customization.

The speakers on the oneplus are suprusingly crisp.

I have had two phones with wireless charging but have never once used it. For me it doesn't bother me to plug my phone in for about 20/30 minutes. Not a heavy user though. I'd go with oneplus probably.

Speaking of the awards, it would be interesting to have something like a Grammy for phones. Like, MrWhoseTheBoss, Dave2D, MrMobile and possibly people working with them as well as other phone content creators who will vote for the different awards.

The Wifi7 implementation comes with the Snapdragon SOC. It's implemented from the CPU, and that's why other 8gen2 SOC phones have the same Wifi capabilities.

Can anyone tell me what is good about wireless charging. Used to have it: it fucks the battery life, is insanely slower than the regular one, you cannot use the phone at the same time. And since it is USB-C, it takes no time at all to plug... Used to have it on my old Galaxy and used it only when the micro usb got broken and changed my phone mainly because I couldn't stand wireless charging ^^"

I don't understand this love for wireless charging. I've had many phones with wireless charging and I have a wireless charger. I don't like wireless charging. It charges at 10W or sometimes 15W. That is slower than all the wired chargers. If I have a wired charger that does at least 20W (even though the S23 Ultra charges at 45W or the OnePlus 11 uses 80W charging or the Realme GT Neo 5 has 240W charging) then I'll definitely use wired everytime. OnePlus has the AirVooc 50W wireless charger which seemed great to me but it only works with a specific set of phones. And reverse wireless charging is even more useless to me. I'm sure some people use it but I don't and haven't had a need to. But I''l take it, I'd rather have it and not need it. That's while I'll stick with my S23 Ultra. So many bells and whistles. I don't know when I'll use WiFi 7 because I don't have a WiFi 7 router, but I have the feature ready.

For me the bigger deal is no IP68. Surprised that wasn't mentioned.

Ip64 is good against rain and dust but submerging under water is not.

I had wireless charging on a Samsung some years ago before switching to OP. I'm personally not a huge fan. If you want to use your phone while charging then wireless charging isn't really feasible. To me, it takes an extra quarter second to unplug or plug in your phone vs setting it on base. Just not something that's a deal breaker for me. Ive had the 7t pro since September of 2019 and it's been a stellar phone. Considering making the upgrade to OP 11.

But is One Plus really more reliable than S23 long term? On some YT videos S23 beats iPhone 14 in camera tests...But i'm leaning towards to One Plus 11 though if the cameras are really better than iPhone 14 & S23 in real life...?

Wireless charging still seems like an absolute first world problem mostly in the US and even then its rare here. Canada? Not really Europe? From my experience and from what I've heard from friends not really here as well, Some of the eastern asian countries maybe but it's overall still kinda niche just a nice to have still.

The *ONLY* reason why people (including me) *LOVE" the S23 is all the great things in such a *COMPACT* size. 6 INCH SHOULD THE STANDARD SIZE OF MOBILE PHONES TBH!
