I just bought a Olympus OM TG-7, and for me it is an excellent camera, it is built to take a physical beating and is waterproof. I will be taking my camera on hikes and other outdoorsy-stuff. You can buy an add-on wide-angle lens(down to 20mm) and a telephoto(180mm), but me it is those little plastic doo-dads that enable me to take qualify macro photos. If you need a camera with better photo and video qualities, a Sony RX100-5a is the ticket, it has a bigger sensor and a popup EVF, but the price is doubled at $1,000.

The TG6 isn’t the worst camera and its not the best camera. It is a good small camera that can be used in many situations. Thanks for the comment.

I’ve had no problems with the TG-6 for travel, although my smartphone gets better shots in some respects. I purchased the TG-6 for part-time inspection photography which involves environments that can be rough. This is where my TG shines due to its durability and I can upload them to my mobile devices. At day’s end it’s a matter of choice. Should Olympus bring out a TG-7, I hope it will be better. Thanks for sharing and all the best.

This is Tournon France. South of Lyon.

My Canon G5X ii is better than the Olympus, though not great, at higher ISO, and pretty good at lower ISO than 800. Even 800 is acceptable. Sometimes it struggles with focus, but usually not. It has a pop up viewfinder, so on sunny days or when needed otherwise, I don't have to rely exclusively on a back screen.

Thanks Ted, I have looked at a few of the Canon options. I haven't been blown away by any of them. I have been looking at Fuji as well. I might need to give one of their cameras a shot here in the future.
