I was told you don’t need to remove the clip when putting it in the headband, there is a slot in the mount for the clip to go into

That is correct.

You can leave thew clip on it and put it in the headband holder.

I have two. Fantastic torch, with a variety of uses.

If you’re curious, the led is an osram P9

I appreciate the review. Ended up buying one. Maybe you know this by now but you don’t have to remove the clip to insert in head bracket.

Got the Perun 2 Mini in 5000k, and it is fab. Pretty solid floodlight and attaches really well to bags and pockets. The redlight mode is great for cave exploration or avoiding bugs outdoors.\ Never used the headband as it clips onto other things well with the periscope shape.

Oh shoooooot! That's an amazing point about the bugs and flies in the dark. I'll make sure to add that in future content if lights have that feature.

Another great review. Thank you. When reviewing rechargable torches (and powerbanks), it would be really helpful if you could indicate whether the device will work when on charge; so would this torch turn on when power is applied to the adaptor? Personally I find this to be a really useful feature and wouldn't by preference buy a device if it can't run when on external power. Also, the waterproof rating would be handy. Again I wouldn't go for something that isn't submersible so that it will survive a drop in the fishing pond or whatever. Thanks again!

Hmmmmm... that's a great point about the charging. I've never really thought about that before however I'll make sure to add it from now on On the Dust and Water rating... I completely forgot. 100% my bad. From memory it's like pretty much all of their other lights and IP-X8. I'll triple check, but I'm 99.9% sure it is. Hope you're well by the way buddy. I know it can be charged in the charging case for the BATON4 but I'm unsure of working while charging. The BATON4 does, I'm guessing this will as well.

Less waffle more hustle? Haha! I have the older version of this light, and really like it. Lots you can do with right angle lights. You should check out the Wurkkos HD20 or HD15. I have the HD20 and love it. Its a unique right angle light with 2 different emitters (spot and flood) Great review of this cool light as always!

I need to work on that 😆 Yes, I think my first ever Olight was on the HD20. I was up in Scotland visiting relatives and took advantage of the surroundings.

How come some of the rechargeable energizer head lamps for much much cheaper like 20-25 dollars can produce 400 lumens for up to 4 hours? I’m not knocking this light in any manner I’m just genuinely curious as I did buy one and wondering why it cost so much more for less lumens and battery life. Thanks

It's a very valid question. I think it often comes down to parts and the steps downs. Companies like Energizer don't often say when there's a step down in lumens after a certain time, whereas, flashlight companies for true light enthusiasts know that people want to know that sort of information. I think there's also an element of Energizer selling lights that are definitely in that budget category. If you've spent $20 on a light that dies after 18 months you'll probably just buy another one, whereas, Olight know you're buying a premium product. Could they punch out more lumens? Probably. Could the lumens be higher for longer before they kick down? Probably... however... they have an our look that they want less unhappy customers that don't have to pay $100 every 18 months That's a pure guess though. Brilliant question though. The torch looks worthy of a good look. I do like olight, yes the chargers are thought provoking but I like them . Sorry has no one mentioned any hose jokes !! Backdraft , uuuuummmmm Schwarzenegger nor Devito were in it Kurt Russel Alec Baldwin , was a great hero movie . Did I hear wrong sorry if I did , maybe you said it to see if anyone is listening , think I was 🫣.

It's kinda annoying you can't just charge it with USB c, makes the edc factor a bit limited as if it runs out and you didn't bring the cable you're kinda screwed.

Olight will be ditching their magnetic charging cable soon. With the EU stating everything has to be USB C they've already started selling newer lines purely with USB C. The next generation of this light will have it

I’m really struggling to decide weather I go for the natural or cool-white. Yours must have been the cold-white version as the other one is only shipped in black. Can anyone help? ^^ Btw, this was by far the best review I’ve seen from this FL. Good job!! :)

Sold on amazon at £65 , only 15 quid cheaper then the nitecore HC68 2000L, I just bought ,which weighs in over 3 times the weight. Sure , the Mini is a cracking little light ,but some might say its s tad overpriced.

If u had to pick one dude, would it be the perun 2 mini or the Wuben XO? 🤔

On paper they're the same but in reality they're completely different lights. XO is a futuristic light what's reasonably practical (but kinda not really 😆), whereas the Perun 2 mini is a grounded light that's very versatile.

Seems worse in every way to the fenix HM50R. The fenix has a low mode at 30 lumens that will run for 42 hours. The perun has a low of 15 lumens that will only run for 26 hours…The olight has a bigger and heavier battery, but much worse run times. Proprietary charger and batteries too.

much prefer the predecessor. i returned mine

sorry, will remain on the Sofirn HS10, same quality in my opinion, but a lot better price (20$ shipped from China to the Olight's 91$ which I cannot order except from the official dealer in my country)

Hi Adrian... I though I had that light for a second and then remembered if was a similar one from Wuben H5 (if memory serves me). They're a great form factor and reall usefull. I'll check out the Sofirn model and add it to my list. Hope you're having a cracking week so far

I have a few perun 2 minis and the hs10 in 2700k/5000k/4000k. The beam profile is tighter on the perun. I’m taking them on a 5 night camping trip this week . I bought the olights for £45 in the sales, the HS10’s were £15 including postage.

If I remember back draft had William Baldwin in it. Not Arnold. Different movie maybe? Or are you just trolling us? Lol.

Lol. Nice. You really had me second-guessing myself for a minute. I had to check out IMDb to make sure that I wasn’t going crazy. You basically combined backdraft, collateral damage, twins, and predator all into one movie. Fantastic movie though. And that scene with Rebecca De Mornay……..

i do like my Perun 2 .. but the addition of red light might just be enough to pry my wallet open (again )

that's what i thought but i much prefer the original. i returned mine and will be buying another original while they are still available
