Is The Occult real? An honest opinion after 4 years of research

After 4 years of researching the occult I've learned that it is real and it works. In this video I explain the basics of what the occult is and what the occult is not. There are a couple of book recommendations at the end, if you'd like to do your own research. Remember, there's no 'one true path'. Take what resonates, discard what doesn't :)

I am doing the exact same thing as you right now. I am very skeptical and can't help but cringe at all of the atrology, deities, "energies", etc. that people keep talking about. But I am not a lazy skeptic that is gonna just discard it all. I have undertaken long-term training in magickal practice in order to see in my own direct experience what this is all about. As Damien Echols likes to say: "You don't have to believe in anything. You just do the practices consistently, and you will get the results."

I also have a hard time with certain popular terminology, but that's part of my journey to not judge the things that work for others :) It sounds like you're an open-minded sceptic, which I think is the best way to be.

The first time I ever “dabbled” in magick, I made a sigil, and intended for something pretty ambitious. The next day, in the most extreme and absurd way possible, the exact thing I asked for happened. I didn’t believe it would happen at all, and it was a pretty unrealistic thing to expect. But it happened.

@@datdude3074 I wanted to make a good impression with a new client. I work in marketing. Did the sigil. Forgot about it. Went in to their office the next day. By noon, they had already had more orders for the day than any day since their store went live.

I'm glad you brought up the Law of One, it definitely expanded my mind in a lot of ways, but I wouldn't recommend the book to people until they've seen lots of KZread videos or listened to lots of podcasts about it, it's a much easier read if one understands some of the concepts ahead of time. Next to the Kybalion I'd recommend the Tao Te Ching! It's a short but sweet occult text full of wisdom and food for the soul

I clicked because of your name. I thought the Kybalion was short! I am always amazed by how much information is packed in there. It is exponential information of course. Like you, I recommend it as the first book. As it was mine.

Nicely presented. I would also suggest looking in to the 'New Thought Movement' pioneers of the late 19th and early 20th century, which is where everything from 'The Secret' (law of attraction) to 'Chaos Magic' has been influenced. In particular, Neville Goddard and The Seth Material. Cheers! "The Truth is a pathless land." J. Krishnamurti

3:40 i don't understand this. it sounds like he is saying that other people aren't responsible for their harmful behaviour, or that we should not be angry at mistreatment. take extremes, for example: if a child or adult spouse is getting beaten or sexually abused, should they be asking themselves "What part of me is being represented by my abuser?". i've heard this idea before as "anything that happens to you, you're responsible for because you chose it; the person you perceive as harming you isn't responsible".

  • @JupiterConsciousness

Thank you for the substantial comment :) I understand this can be difficult to grasp, especially for those of us who have gone through intense hardship. The person you perceive as harming you IS responsible because they are you. It's not about excusing harmful behaviour, it's about breaking the cycle of self-torture we put ourselves through as a result of "other" peoples' behaviour. Hurt people, hurt people - sometimes we hurt others because we were hurt ourselves and sometimes we hurt ourselves because others hurt us.
