Good luck and have fun Marty! - One of the reasons I have trying different motors is as much as I love my NSR cars, there is an inconsistency in the NSR motors. I have NSR 21K motors that are faster than my NSR 25K motors!?!? I tried a couple of Piranha 25K motors, nice but loud. I got my first several Predator motors (22.5K & 25K) and finally got them installed yesterday. Really liked the 22.5K and as you said really smooth, but not much breaking. The 25K, very nice, much quieter than the Piranha, good braking and very nice acceleration. I see more Predator 25K motors in my future. Thanks for another really good video!

Chris, you nailed it. I have the same experience. This 25k motor is sweet!

I think anything over 25k is a bit much. Good to see you testing new motors out. There are big performance differences between same rated motors I find and even between the exact same motors. The more laps you have on a motor the better they seem to get. The slot. It motor range is designed give lots of options. Torque and breaking on bigger tracks is going to be important. Good stuff Mr.Ford. I burnt out a NSR motor about a week ago. Shot can that came in my GT40 , being that it was done , I went into it. Dirt and dust was the killer being my set up is on the floor. I cleaned it out , but one side the contact brush was worn-out more than the other , but it ran fine . Truth be told , better than before , but I'm still getting that Predators 25k Ball B motor. Thanks for the info .

Motors are cheap and easy upgrade. The 25kBB is fast and smooth.

Thanks Marty, that's useful info for us all :) Seems to be a versatile and 'sweet spot' motor and good luck for the racing tomorrow. Remember to run your own race - I do know how difficult this is when there are other cars on a close vector in neighbo(u)ring lanes

Good luck today with your racing, let us know how you did with the new motor. Were you able to keep it in the slot, seeing how you had only practiced on your track where the mag effect helps?

Hey Marty, didn’t know a predator 25k was available, I’m intrigued to try one out for sure! I already have a predator 22.5k motor that I’m planning on using soon, what do you recommend for breaking in? Does the process differ from other motors?

It is a new release! Slot Car Dude recommended oil the bearing periodically and run at 6volts for 2 hours, then 9 volts for 30 minutes.

The break in done before you install the motor? Are just letting it sit in the table. New territory with motor swaps som I’m curious of the process.

@@dortiz1968 I have been breaking in motors and running the gears in at the same time.. install the motor, get the gear mesh set if you can adjust it.. some polish compound on gears.. run at 4 volts for 1-2 hours.. and turn up to 9 volts last 20 min.. smooth and pretty good break in..

Have fun Marty, but truth be known, most of us are placing our bets on Dusty.
