I have this car in fire orange and just love it. I think the car is quicker than what the stats say. Gas mileage is way better than the numbers say. And the simplicity of everything makes the car easy to clean inside and out as well. The front skittle tray can also be the official star bucks frappuccino holder. I easily fit two grande's side by side the other day. Not the vente though, the vente will squirt whip cream everywhere. Thanks Joe and Lori for another great video.

I went with the Corolla. Unbelievable reliability and great gas milage….but both nice cars….I wanted a civic but they wouldn’t budge off the price. So Corolla won out for me….

Great review. But the Refreshed 2022 Kia Forte LXS is currently smaller than the 2022 Hyundai Elantra Sedan.

I own the same exact model and its 2024 now. Here in Florida on these long flat straight roads my highest mpg was 52.4(Thats with about 75 lbs of tools in the trunk!! 0 issues with the vehicle. No check engine light, I replaced the engine oil at the same dealership i bought it from every 3-4k miles until ~24k. Just went back and only thing they recommended was an air filter change and cabin filter change! SUPER DURABLE AND RELIABLE FOR A GREAT VALUE OF STYLE

this a very nice lil car especially the infotainment display and the dashboard, the only thing I’m zonking is that extra large handle on the drivers seat.i think this a very nice buy a 21K

The best thing about a brand new Kia is that you know a previous owner hasn't "busted cream all over the interior" 😉

I love how he compares it to other cars. This is my 1st time watching this guy and I loved him already!I've been looking at new cars/newer cars! And hes also funny in his review though the Arby's and Twinky 😅 comment is funny!

Definitely no-frills in this trim, so I think it's a good match to the lower trim Corollas in that respect. I'd want something in a better equipped version, but I have driven these and they bring the value. My impression is that these are smoother, quicker and better looking than the Corolla. Taste is different for everyone though. You can't even edge it out with Toyota quality anymore, as that's not as big a bragging right as it used to be. The Forte was my second choice after buying my '21 Elantra.

@@Vikasslytherine Elantra is a ground-up redesign (CN7) for 2021+. Forte is an older design. They have very little in common, which I can confirm having test-driven the older Forte first.

Just got one last Friday! 2022. I love it.

I have to tell you that there is something about this car. I am a car guy and I only get top trim for myself. I had couple Audis, Hyundai's and currently have a Atlas SEL Premium because my family got bigger. I was looking for a brand new car for my mother, base model at around $21k. I considered Kia Forte LXS, VW Jetta and Elantra. Ended up getting same exact trim and color combo as on the video for $20600 plus tax, doc, title and registration fees. I always hated on base models but I put 90 miles in this vehicle and I feel in love with it which is weird. I just love the interior styling, the new logo, infotainment screen, wireless CarPlay and white and red dash light. The seats are comfortable and the active lane assist is really precise on keeping the car centered in the line. Oh, did I mention the warranty? This car was a no brainer for me and my mom. Replaced license plate and interior lights with LED and that gave the car a nice refresh. I love that they used projector lenses for the headlights so I got the LED bulbs and they light up the road at night much nicer than my Atlas of previous 2018 Q5 Prestige. It is really weird that I said so many good things about this car ;-)

What are the headlight bulb sizes I can’t find them anywhere!!!

I should add this in. If you live in an area with some rough roads, the Forte's rear torsion beam suspenion might be way too uncomfortable and jarring over broken pavement for some folks. I rented a 2021 and put about 400 miles on it...the rear torsion beam routinely gave out over bad pavement. It was basically a deal breaker for me. Such a shame, because Kia got the rear torsion beam tuning down just right on their Rio. I also found the front seats in the Forte to be a bit too stiff for my liking. On the plus side, the infotainment was intuitive and easy to use, the fuel economy was EXCELLENT (43-45 MPG on the highway), the CVT mimicked its fake shifts to the point that I couldn't tell it wasn't a traditional automatic transmission and the car was generally pretty quiet. SavageGeese (a well known car reviewer on KZread) echoes a lot of the same thoughts I had on the Forte.

I have a rental of this right now and I hate it!!!!! It is so cheap and the ride is rough as hell so I agree with you 100% you feel every bump …allot of hard plastic but I guess for the price it makes sense. I cannot wait until I get my Mazda6 back

@@acolbert91 Yeah, I totes agree with you. I know Kia tried to make the car look sportier with fancy-ish wheels, 16 inch tires and sculptered body lines. That's great and all and I did appreciate all of the technology, fantastic ergonomics and instrumentation display. However, at the end of the day, the Forte is supposed to be affordable, cheap and low-maintenance transportation to comfortably transport 4 adults. I would much rather that Kia downgrade the infotainment system, install 15 inch tires with simple-looking wheels, perhaps eliminate the dual climate feature and dial back a few other things, and reroute the cost savings in those areas I mentioned towards installing a more compliant multi-link suspension to make the ride quality a lot more comfortable. What good is a fancy infotainment, lane-keep assist and automated emergency braking if I'm going to be utterly uncomfortable, the moment I hit a bad pothole? I'm not expecting a Mercedes E-class air suspension; just something I can reasonably tolerate when riding over bad pavement.

I have the LXS and I wish they hadn't done the fake shifting on the CVT. Mine changes rpm for no rhyme or reason and it's just overall obnoxious and unnecessary.

I drove both cars, the new Forte and the Corolla because, of my job it allows me to try out different vehicles. The Forte does handle a bit sportier than the Corolla. Also something note worthy what consumer will like about the Forte compared to the Corolla. The mpg is way better. The Forte gas Range starts at 411 on a full tank, as the Corolla gas Range starts at 323 on a full tank. Also this is the first economy car I drove that has Duel climate control something you would find in a high end car like a Audi or a BMW. The driver can have it warm on their side and the passenger can have cold on their side. Whereas this feature isn't available on the Corolla. One notable safety feature I liked about the Forte were the Collision Detection feature. You can set it to, when your car gets to close to a object or a car slams on brakes and the driver has bad timing. The car will beep and it will help depress the brake pedal for the driver. While the Corolla only beeps and the driver is responsible for saving their own dear life. The Corolla on the other hand has better night time headlights. It has a better seating material compared to the Forte. The Forte seats front and back feels kind of dated. The Corolla has a Premium audio system with it's Apple Play, compared with the Forte okay Audio system. In my opinion, the Forte is a better platform compared to the new Corolla.

@@randomvirus6747 Definitely swap out the speakers, I have an Optima (love the car but hàtè the speakers that came with) and changed out the speakers to JL Audio (it’s a huge improvement). Also, JL speakers sound great but are definitely pricey, another great sounding speaker that won’t cost a lot is JBL.

From the side view...the Mazda 3 is a bit boring looking. I think the Forte looks better but thats just my opinion. The civics are really nice but tend to be a bit pricier. Especially if you go with the SI.

Plus I got to give this guy credit he takes pride in his job and he knows his shit there's nothing more frustrating than somebody trying to sell you on a vehicle when they don't know a damn thing about it I've been purchasing a new pickup truck and I go to the dealership the salesman tells me that the brand new 2.7 liter turbo that is coming out later this year to dealerships is the same 2.7 motor that Chevrolet was putting in their pickup trucks a year ago and it's absolutely not the entire bottom end of the motor is different crankshaft is different you can't buy a 21 2.7 liter turbo in a Chevy truck and get the same amount of power that you're going to get out of the second run 22s with bolt-on parts because it is literally an entire different motor I had this gas sitting argue with me for an hour and finally the manager of the dealership comes and says hey wait this guy is right and I mean I knew I was right I've been researching this big time because putting a 4-cylinder motor in a truck a full size truck is such a New Concept and I haven't driven the one that's going to be coming out at the end of 22 but folks I'm here to tell you the power and torque look good on paper Chevy made a huge mistake putting that small motor in their trucks our Kia Forte feels five times more aggressive than one of those trucks I test drove one and I got less than a mile down the road and turn the blinker on and turn around and brought it back I know this reviews about Kia's but I just wanted to throw that in there in case anybody made me purchasing a truck

Probably not. But on the other hand, the quality of Toyota and Honda is on its way down, be it from parts shortages, bad suppliers or just worse engineering than the older models. Kia is definitely almost caught up to them.

I think it will be as reliable as least as Honda(going down in reliability) or else Kia wouldn't offer 10 year warranty on their powertrain. I had a 2012 Sorento V6 for 4 years and I never had any single issue. So regret that I sold that Kia.

@footballcoreano It's really slow. You really have to put your foot through the pedal to get it to move. The one I test drove had a really soft brake pedal too. Also, in 2022, it's not much to ask for a button starter.

Don't listen to this troll... Buy a used Corolla and forget about getting Android Auto and Apply Carplay(which is a big demand)..that feature wasn't implemented until the 2020 model. In essence, you're just paying for the name. My advice is compare feature to feature. I was going to buy a 2017 Corolla. But decided to get a 2017 Elantra instead. I was gonna pay $3000 more for a car that had less features. 4 years later, my Elantra is still reliable.. And with the warranty I have, it gives me a peace of mind..The value of my car even went up due to the chip shortages. Dealers are trying their hardest to sell my car to them.

Not having rear air vents and an armrest/cupholders would be ALMOST a deal breaker for me, but not having any backseat connectivity at $21k is where I would draw the line. This backseat is way too sparse for a new car today, even a fairly cheap one... Hell a 2022 Chevy Spark which starts at $12k has at least one outlet and cupholder in back.

I've sought advice about this as well, and my general takeaway from a few sources is they're reliable cars but you can't ignore routine maintenance. Don't drive too hard and be on time with oil changes, transmission fluid changes and all other maintenance and you should be able to get 200,000 miles.

The GT Line is really nice
