I just ordered a CX-50 Turbo Premium in machine gray metallic with terra cotta interior. The Meridian first caught my eye, but it lacked a lot of the features available in the premium model. Not a fan of cylinder deactivation in the base engine, but the i-stop in turbo models can be turned off with the flick of a switch on the dash. Been driving Mazdas for years, going back to an 1979 RX-7 that I purchased new. I have almost 500k miles on three different Mazdas over the years with no forced maintenance other than a failed A/C compressor on a 3 and failed sensor on 2014 6. Extremely reliable vehicles.

GREAT VIDEO--- the drive shows up better in YOUR video than most I've seen.. which is GREAT... Under $50k?? Wow-- that's up there- but worth it I think..

I love the cx50...i currently own a 14 cx5 & a 21 cx9. I'm almost@200k on the cx5 I'm hoping it can still hold up until the cx50 hybrid comes out and i hope it doesn't change with the driving dynamics and style in the future.

Sometime this month in November!

My parents just recently took delivery on their 2024. I haven't driven it much yet, but only complaint is because I'm a bigger guy and my leg feels a bit cramped against the center console. But if that touch point was actually cushioned, I imagine it'd solve it

I saw someone say on reddit a few months ago that they’re also tall and got a cushion off amazon that can stick on the side of the center console. will probably do the same when i get mine.

That's a big reason I have a truck. The center console in most SUV's and cars doesn't give me enough leg room.

Picked up a 2023 meridian Cx-50. The steering is great but have wished it was lighter on long road trips. Braking feels more progressive than other brands. I think my dogs appreciate that though 😅

That Machine Grey Metallic paint job is AWESOME! I OWN a Mazda3 in Machine Grey Metallic (so you'd think I'd be used to it by now), but it looks REALLY sexy on this one! ...and why do you blur your speedometer?

I have the 2024 CX-5 Turbo Premium in Machine Gray Metallic. I agree, it is an awesome color, especially with the black trim and wheels.

Just traded in a 2021 CX-5 Signature for a 2024 CX-50 Turbo Premium. Love both, but I give the edge to the CX 50.Great driving ,comfortable cars.

I haven't driven a Macan yet! Love the way they look though. I do know even the base Macan can tow more than the CX-50, but it's heavier overall so handling nimbleness and feel could be affected. Tough to say if you'd be able to feel the extra weight though. Not to mention starting price is quite a bit more.

Well done video and refreshing to see a content creator did some homework. I’ve watched dozens of videos where it is stated that the ‘24 models have the updates you spoke of but no mention that it’s coming later in production (Mazda says cars built after November) so 2024 vehicles on the road right now do not have the updates. Where did you get the info on the brake boosters? I can’t find that anywhere?

Thanks! Info came from our contact at Mazda Canada who gave us the car to test for a week. Hoping to drive the updated one at some point, but can only do so many videos on the same car haha

Hopefully, it was built in November 2023 or after, otherwise those changes/updates were not implemented.

Look on the sticker where the vin number and production date is stamped... It will tell you on the top corner when it was made. It's a 2023 if the production date was before November 2023.

They really need to give the turbo specs the all black interior. That brown stitching is subtle, but kind of an eye sore. Love the car, and it'll probably be my next choice, but that's my one complaint.

They already made the changes in November…

I've heard all the changes are software. No hardware changes have been made.

If in my Country Mazda have introduce the turbo version probably I would gone for it.

i have just got one. at 65 mph, i get 31 mpg😊. if i drive aggressively, super bad mpg. if you like to drive fast on the highway mpg gonna suck. parking lot speed bumps YIKES/CRINGE! but that is with the big wheels on the turbo premium plus. the seats are a bit hard in the seat area but great for small driver! bose premium sound system sucks. cruise control-awesome in stop&go traffic but no good steering control

They need to finally redesign their infotainment system. The screen needs to be larger, touch screen optional from the moment you start the car. Also, their GUI is at least 10 years old and needs total overhaul.

I own a 23 cx50 and 21 CX5. The cx5 is superior in every way. Ride is better, seats are better, build quality is not even close. The cx50 is feels very cheaply built compared to the CX5. And the pano roof barely opens in the cx50. My recommendation would be to purchase a CX5 with the turbo which is what I have and save about $5,000 compared to an equivalent cx50.

cx5 is for grannies 😂

Too large & boxy for my personal taste, so went with the smaller, sleeker Mazda CX-30 instead. Also prefer the CX-5 over the CX-50.

I drove both, I loved the 30, handled much better, this Is so trivial, but my drink cup won't fit..dumb design..my only complaint..

Nice looking car.........But the roughest riding car ever built........Prepare for daily shocks as You drive........CX 30 in similar catagory.........Mazda's are mechanically vary good, But NOT designed for comfort...........Paul

I didn't have any issues with the ride the first time I drove it but in the category it can be a bit on the stiffer side. I drive a lot of modified and performance vehicles as well, so my baseline for spine comfort is much lower. I'm looking forward to driving one with the updated suspension.

Then buy it.

I have a 2023. horrible seats. firm bottom and leg cramps. If you are considering this car, spend more time in the seats before you make your purchase.

I have the 2024 and I love it. Also super comfy. Try lowering the front of your seat to take pressure off the back of your legs.

@@jamiehicks8971 thanks! Ya I’ve been trying different positions for most of the better year. I can get it tolerable but never comfortable. It’s always fix one part of the body and the pressure gets move somewhere else. Do you find yourself sitting higher than other cars? I feel like this car even though it feels low in the cabin you still have to sit up higher and straighter like a SUV.

Yes I agree I have a preferred plus. The transmission sucks, idk what they did to it, I’m constantly adjusting my seat this is the third Mazda I’m still having to do that. And the sunroof is disappointing
