Got my wife the original black and white model, pretty soon.....5 other fam members wanted a Makita vac! I swear, as a Commercial contractor, Makita is always the first choice in tools we purchase.

Reliability and comfort makita nails it .. just got one of these for quick pickups in the cars and to help maintain our stairs and not have to lug our corded vac up the stairs
I have this same vacuum for 4 years now and its still held the same power! Amazing product by Makita!
Thanks Clint great video. I have the Milwaukee M18 Teapot vacuum and it is great for your house, workshop or car.
With a cyclone you can vacuum water on the low level... Its awesome. Dishwasher failed and i cleaned it out.
I bought mine on a whim when it was on clearance for $50 as a kit (crazy I know!). Love it.
Thanks for the review!
You can cover the filter with a piece of panty hose like most other vacuums. I haven't bought a new shop vac filter in many years (and have several shop vacs I use often). Give it a try. It's a very, very old way to save money on filters. While Desert Shield made that old off-road trick famous for vehicle air filters it also works on computers and other electronics used in dusty conditions. The Makita filter is shaped like a drink cup. Pull the foot cut from panty hose over the filter and tuck inside the filter support frame, then install filter as normal. I also clipped my Pelican LED flashlight to the nozzle holding clip included on the inlet tube for use in dark locations.
Currently in the market for a vac. Thanks for video
Cool video! I have the Hitachi. I swear it is identical. They have to be designed or made by the same company and just rebadged. I got it for 40 dollars a few months ago which makes it well worth it.
Nice informative review Broski @ToolReviewZone
I got the cyclone attachment, really everyone needs that too!
I love mine. I also got the cyclone dust separator attachment really makes the filters last so much longer.

I just cover the stock filters on all my shop vacs with a piece of panty hose and never have to change filters. The Makita arrangement makes it especially easy.

Great video. I work at a Makita authorized retailer and we have had one for over 3 years. We don’t have the issue with the delay that you were mentioning. The see-through green plastic piece is a weak point (at least ours broke) but we seem to think that the white version is a better plastic so we replaced ours with such. I’m watching this to see if there’s any tips or tricks I may have missed and I’m also considering getting one for myself
I want to see a cordless car vacuum, can’t wait to spot one high quality brand, mid to high quality would serve the purpose on my van & suv
I've also had it for 4 years, with the reusable filter. Awesome product. Now I am getting fade in/out on the motor (loses power, then comes back, then falls off again.. intermittently). Sounds like the brushes are finally going - I don't think it's the switch but maybe it is. The "delay" you talk of could be the brushes, not the switch. Looking at getting the brushless version now but twice the price and the filters are different. Wondering whether to just get another the same.
The kit is on sale for $99 on Amazon all the time
Need a vacuume like dyson makita for mom in the kitchen . We all got the batteries
I plan on getting that vacuum
My mom works is in the house cleaning service and she is super selective about vacuum cleanes, i work in construction and i needed a small vacuum to clean after i service something in the houses i do repairs and this vacuum popped for sale and the price was very good. My mom one day asjed if she could borrow it, after she came and asked how much does it cost because she is impressed.
I have one of these.. honestly it's only great if you do mods. I removed all the exhaust filter material and the flap you mentioned. Flow is much better and it actually sucks now.
Makita tools amaze me I bought a cordless drill set basic home depot kit in 2015. Since then I bought A replacement pair in 2018 because it was such a good deal around Christmas. But I wasn't gonna use it until The 2015 cordless hammer drill gave out. Fast forward 5 years and it still works. The past couple years I've purposely beat the s*** out of it and used it in specific situations where it probably should not have been used...plus a few months ago I couldn't find it and then I realized that I left it outside on my front porch for 2 to 3 weeks in which time it rained multiple times with no cover. I couldn't believe it but it works fine a little WD40 and it sounded new. As of 2023 It's Still fine and working great. I haven't touched its replacement for 5 years lol . And since then I bought like 20 makita tools Including this vacuum which I also have beat the h*** out of And it still works pretty good
Found one of these at Tractor Supply on clearance for $64.99, picked it up immediately

Very good info Thanx.🎉🚀👍 Im liking the look of the Miele Triflex HX1, what you reckon? Good 👍or Bad👎
Have it/love it. Best part --the kids love it too and they use it (big bonus score there)! Don't know where/why you paid so much for yours. Mines the original brushed model and it was like $75 tool only. I think the new BL model is around $180 and I'd agree that's too much. Gotta' love how handy they damn thing is --I use it all the time.

You pay more for a bigger motor, higher cfm rating.
I was having the same problem with the trigger too. i took it apart, couldn't find any reason for a mechanical problem but put it back together without the trigger and it worked fine thereafter

Hey there Clint! How's it going buddy! I think your vac might be the XLC02ZB non brushless model that retails at the depo for $89. The brushless model would say BL on it and brushless

Yep. This thing is solid. The rubber flap did fall off so I replaced that. Other than that....no issues. I use it daily. Power does not fade and no suction lost. Just replaced the 1st filter after a year of use.

This is the brushless one. I got the regular one on Amazon for like $89 over a year ago.
Just got this video suggested. Are you cleaning a lot of fine dust like sheetrock? Mine was doing the same but it took it completely apart and blew out the dust and cleaned with compressed air. Works just like new.
@ToolReviewZone

A lot if finer wood dust on the CNC. Ill rip it apart and see if that works. Thanks for the feedback bro👊
Is it better than the Eureka and Kenmore cordless stick vacuums? They're in the $120-150 range.
The vac still got warranty, if that delay on start will get to you. Of course, if you registered the tool after purchase on Makita website. The tool on Home Depot isnt the same as yours in the review. That $179 ignoring the higher price you pay for Makita tools in the US, is brushless where Im guessing yours in the review isnt. It would have BL logo or brushless said somewhere. In Poland (EU Market) only brushless vac of this type is the Makita DCL280FZ, which is brushless as well having same specs. Price is $114 for bare tool. Even on german Amazon its $120 on the tool. The tool you own is around 45-50 bucks.
Could use it as a corner cleaner for the house

Yeah buddy 👊
These blue translucent dust collector bodies have cracking issues around the nozzle. Mine is only 2 months old and has many cracks already.
Mine also has switch problems
I have this vacuum, the trigger switch doesn’t work. Ow, I’m wondering where I would buy a new switch so I can fix it myself.
I am replacing my makita vacuum for that exact reason my switch broke twice and it finally took a dump. I purchased another one with a different switch system.
@ToolReviewZone

My switch ended up breaking as well. I opened it up and put a fab of hot glue to help make contact with the power button. Seems to be doing OK now
Is it dry and wet?
Does it perform well as a household vacuum? Does it stand a chance against a Dyson?
@joeking433
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Eureka and Kenmore make a Dyson clone for around $125 and I was wondering if that would be a better option. My Dyson kicks ass with great suction but they've doubled in price to the $500 range and I'm not paying that.
G'day mate, I think thats the XLC02ZB grouse review anyway mate....
My trigger started pausing like yours and now outs out more than 50% of the time. I’m looking for a new trigger, or replace altogether.

Amos Cardoza also the brushless one is different than the one he has in this video. So I’m 100% sure he has the brushed model he just mess up during the review because the old video he did on this was definitely the brushed model. So I think he must have mistaken it as the brushless one.

I have what is probably an earlier version and it is absolutely useless, battery and charger great, the vacuum just takes up space. I love Makita tools I have a small battery screwdriver that I use constantly, this vacuum, I got robbed good on a yard cell table
