The Xpro1 is not weather sealed, but your lens is. The Xpro2 and Xpro3 are weather sealed, but only when paired with a WR lens. I agree, the Xpro1 files are pretty spectacular and it is still a fantastic camera. When I got mine I totally stopped using my Canon 5Dm3 on the streets and eventually sold off all my Canon gear and got an Xpro2 and a couple of other lenses.

Haha it so funny, this kind of videos became a tradition. I bought mine after watching the same video a year ago. For me, it was a return to digital photography after a very long pause. Before that, I had different DSLRs and they were gone, only film cameras from lomo, 135 to medium format Hasselblads were left. And my returning never was so comfortable and creative. Everything about X-Pro1 is right, it feels right in the hands, it feels right while shooting, it always amazes when you opening raws at the end. I mean what even can be wrong or "upgraded" if you already have sensor which still close to the film most at the moment. It not about megapixels, incamera processing or autofocusing speed. If you learning about creativity and know about how limits can became your best friends, unhurried ascetical thoughtful style of shooting suits you, then X-Pro1 (at todays ridiculous price tags) can't be wrong. It is a camera for a living.

Ivan, man your comment is what I was looking for or better put hoped to find :-) I am thinking of getting an Xpro1. I already have an x100t since 2015, brought back the joy of everyday shooting, especially documenting life around me, family etc. a few weeks ago I bought a 40yr old Nikon FE with the 50mm for half nothing. Man what a feeling, transported me way back when I was a teenager and took photography lessons at school and we also developed the films..wonderful. Now film isn‘t really cheap, and with two small kids at home I rarely have a spare minute nor do I have a spare room trying to develop my own film. Doesn’t matter, I will keep shooting a few rolls of cheap kodak color film every now and then...makes me happy. It is all about the experience! Thhis brought me to the idea of an used XPro1. Trying to get that ‚film‘ experience with digital, that ad you said inhurried aestetical mindful style.... of course I can do that with the x100t. For sure. My idea was to use the vintage lense(s) from the Nkon and pair em with the XPro1. I do practise shooting with the OVF only on my x100t as I think I will likely do that with the xpro1. As the EVF isn‘t really good. Up until recently I used the EVF only....I shoot jpegs only and do no post. I like to nail the shot in camera. Maybe I just frame them a little different when printing, but that is about it.. Are you using old glass too? How is manual focussing? I was thinking maybe the XT1 would be better for me as I do rely on the EVF, but I know I will not love it as I would the xpro1. En alternative could be the xpro2 but I would need to sell the x100t. I really think the xpro1 would make me go out of my comfort zone, make me think about taking the shot more, I would need to learn the basics again, shooting manually...all of that paired with a camera that has character and sould....and all that only for my iwn enjoyment...man I think I would love it! I d like to hear your experience so far, how do you shoot? You using vintage lenses? Thanks a lot man, really appreciate your feedback! Cheers from Switzerland!

@@michel559 Hey Michel! Thanks for a kind words! What a story I glad you shared it. I absolutely support you idea of using XPro1 with an old manual lenses. This is actually the way I use it. I use my XPro with an old Canon FD lenses, I didn't choose them on purpose, they just was in my collection and I decided to try them. And they work wonderfully! From this moment I’ve only use 28mm FD lens most of the time. I bet this lens willn’t pass any modern scientific test at optic perfection and this is why I love it. It imperfections somehow makes photography so alive and deep. Manual focusing itself has became important part of my method too. Those mistakes often leads to happy accidents and all this in conjunction makes the process very organic. About OVF on X-Pro1. As much as I would like to use it, as same it for me practically unusable with manual focusing unfortunately. I’m using EVF only, it not perfect but I have used to it and it never stays on the way of photographing, I know that what I see will even better at the end : ) Michel I like your mental charge and wish you good luck on this way! Cheers!

I bought one last fall for about $300... it definitely still stands today for real-world photography. I bought a few cheap Chinese lenses and adapter for some old LTM lenses I already owned. I liked it enough to grab a 23mm f/2.0 Fujifilm as well. It's not going to replace my regular system, but it often tags along when I visit a city.

This camera is totally viable to shoot events professionally if you put it on a flash bracket with a flash gun and either an LED panel or a flashlight with a pressure switch to aid with low-light autofocus. And the threaded shutter release lets you put it on a flash bracket with a cable shutter release. I had no problem delivering files at ISO 6400.

I agree with every word you say, I bought one for just under £300 from a well known online dealer and its mint. My only negative comment is when using old glass on it, which was one reason for buying it, the focus peaking, in white, isn't that easy to see. But the feel and ease of use, I use mine manually except for ISO which is left in auto, is lovely. It's like using a film camera in both looks feel and to a degree in operation. I only shoot jpegs and they are fine for the type of photography I do.

I own an X-Pro1 since last summer, paid about 200€ for mine. It is absolutely worth it, and i one is willing to really learn using a camera they can get it and put a vintage lens on it and they will have a great camera for an unbeatable price. Actually before I got the Pro1 I bought an E2 (got it for 175€) which made me learn manual mode as I did not want to buy a native lens and started out with a Russion Helios on it. Manual focussing is incredible fun and with an EVF on a mirrorless body you see what you will get. Just turn all those dials and learn how the effect your picture. Having the Pro1 after that was a kind of downgrade as it is missing the WiFi which I used a lot for processing on my phone. Plus I felt underwhelmed by the OVF as parallax gave me some trouble with the framing. Also I think the EVF on the E2 is a bit better, not sure about that at the moment. However although being a bit disappointed first I could not let go of the Pro1 as it is just a cool camera and lots of joy to use it. I gave the E2 to my father a couple of weeks ago to try out and have hardly missed it since. With the Pro3 hitting the market I was hoping for a good drop of the used prices of the Pro2. But being around 600 to 700€ for the body alone I can not justify upgrading. As I like to travel without having a wall outlet near all the time I really miss the ability to charge either Pro1 and Pro2 via USB. The double card slot and the ISO dial (which I happen to like) plus the upgraded VF are arguments for the Pro2 though. Maybe if it comes down in Price. At the moment if I wanted to upgrade I might get an E3, especially for travelling and when using manual lenses. This one is USB-chargeable and has a greater resolution (not that this is the most important) and can be had for just about 400€. That saying, I can not picture myself ever giving the Pro1 away. It is so relatively cheap that there is no point to it. And I am sure I would want to have it back anyways. So, have fun using your X-Pro1, it is a great tool! Oh, nearly forgot: AF speed can be a pain sometimes. End of last year I took some shot at an event outside and in the dark. I realised I would have been better off with a manual lens as the AF did pump a lot often not focussing on anything under these extreme conditions. One more reason to go into manual mode. Also I am more proud of pictures shot with MF (and in manual mode) as I feel I contributed more to it, especially when it was a difficult situation, and also it is my fault if it is out of focus. Too bad the native lenses are no good for MF as they are focus by wire. Sorry for the long rambling but I seem to get pretty excited taking about that camera. :)

I would love to have an X-Pro1 as when I tried one alongside my other newer Fuji bodies I always found I chose to pick the Pro 1 up first. However as already mentioned before the big problem is getting hold of the correct diopter for the eyepiece even a Nikon one which is compatible they are so hard to find so I let it go. I have worked hard and bought the X-Pro 2 graphite edition which is not only fast and brilliant it is lovely to look at. It Included a graphite 23m F2 lens both in mint condition for total of £1000 or €1100 half the original price. Just love it. My X-T3 is now my back up body. I really enjoyed your pictures at the end of the video! Thanks for giving us your thoughts on this camera. I just got an X-Pro3. It’s my first Fuji camera and I love it. It is excellent in low light and focuses extremely quickly. Like you said, those are probably the main advantages over the 1 or 2, but, most importantly, it’s such a fun camera to use. Especially in black and white I’m comfortable shooting at high iso because the grain structure is actually very pleasing, if you don’t need a super sharp image. I might need to find a cheap X-Pro1 too. For the price it seems hard to beat this camera in so many aspects. Cheap, fun to use, and good results, what else could you want?

Hey Greg how are things? Thanks a lot for your video! I am considering buying a Xpro1. It is a feeling from the gut and a decision from the heart one could say 😉. But now the mind comes in between..😆. The only thing holding me back is the EVF. As I rely on it for manually focussing and as a jpeg shooter I do use the EVF a lot on my x100t. But I d like to get a more film like aproach, like with my Nikon FE, but with the digital convenience. I was thinking of an XT1 as well, getting closer to the Nikon SLR style...that would be the head deciding. Mainly because of the dials and the much better EVF......maybe the XT1 would be the better companion to the X100T. I think if I get an Xpro1 and get on well, that I might sell the X100T, and use the money for a lens or two. Maybe not so with an XT1. I did start forcing myself to use the OVF more on my X100T. Hi Mitch! Thanks for your comment. I am doing well, how are you? I am still using my xpro1 but I only use the fuji AF lens 35mm F2. To be honest the EVF if not very good on the camera and I’m not sure if I would recommend it for manual focusing. Maybe the XT1 is a better buy. Actually, everything about the XT-1 is better. The only reason to buy the xpro1 is if you enjoy the rangefinder style body, and the unique sensor (said by many people, though I don’t know how true this is.) The X-Pro1 does have focus peaking but it’s only in white color and very difficult to see. I think you would be happier with the XT-1 for manual focus ☺️

I picked up a X-E2S last year for a vacation trip. I love it because it is so compact. I picked up a X-T2 last month at a incredible deal (like insane I would have regretted not buying years from now). The X-T2 is great but I find myself using the X-E2S because it so compact and quality is great. I did not get rid of my Nikon gear (I still use it for any studio or evens). When I shoot with my D750 I just can't over how great the quality is but because it is so big I just don't carry it around anymore. Right now I have room for both systems.

I haven’t used the x100s but if you care about using different lenses then you should go for the xpro1. The x100s comes with a 23mmf2 which is not very sharp. They fixed that on the new x100v. I would personally go for the xpro1 based on that alone.

Have all 3 Xpro's but hands down Xpdo-1 has most organic look. This is one of the few digital camera's which comes as close to film as it can. It is not for everybody, and to be honest now day's it is fast compared to when I bought first one back in 2012.You have to try faster glass on it, and some lenses like 16 f1.4, 23 f1.4 do have pre-focus (zone) scale. In no particular order 16 f1.4, 35 f1.4,56 f1.2,80f2.8 and 90f2 are producing different images then f2 fujicron lenses.

Hi Dirk, I have no experience with those cameras so I can't give you an answer for that. Only thing I can say is that the X100 series has a fixed 35mm (FF equivalent) lens, while the X-T1 can mount different lenses. I remember reading that the lens on the X100 is not very sharp. Personally, I think the X-T1 would be a better buy but you should ask someone who has experience with those cameras.

I had a xpro 1 for a while. The picture quality was wonderful. And yes the images were on par with my canon 5d MK III. But the EVF just wasn't on par with the xt3. In my opinion. So I traded it in and got a xpro 2. To be fair, yes for the money, an xpro 1 is worth the picture quality.

Hey Greg, Fuji actually made film as opposed to Nikon and Canon, that's where their expertise on film simulation come from. Do you know that you have the possibility to record up to three film simulation each time you take a shot ? It takes more time to write them, but I find it really useful. See ya!
