Is suction power of V8 enough for deep cleaning? My husband has dust allergy. We have 2 pets also. So i my first concern is suction power/cleaning performance. Is V8 enough for perfect deep cleaning?? V11 seems bit heavy. Now they have introduced 2 more models, V12 & V15. Can u please help me to choose the best.

Found your channel via Dyson content, kudos to you, the channel is amazing. And just got myself V8 & it rocks, purchased Detail Cleaning Kit & Wand Clip as well and together the complete set-up serves my 2-bedroom house with a large hall/living room - the battery life is just about enough. Wish I can purchase the laser attachment from V15 and swappable batteries instead of screwed in ones; at least the laser fluffy head should be available even if its costly for an accessory IMO, but alas then no one will get V15 :D V8 is not just the old one, its a model that has been refreshed for 2023, you can distinguish between the old and the new model from the pre-filter, the long filter has been redesigned in the new one. Overall V8 is great but if you can, go with V11 Refurbished or new; V8 is no slouch but you do have the battery anxiety when you do whole house deep cleaning instead of quick sweeps for rooms or detailing cleaning; you can't do both together, you can do either one and then have to charge it up, wait for 5 hours before you can go again.

The biggest thing people also should consider is the high modes on the newer vacuums are so strong that the roller suctions itself into the carpet and isnt usable. So they negate this with slides releasing or in otherwords decreasing the suction so your right back to the performance of a older model lol. I have a v8 that i use milwaukee 18 volt batteries on and when its on high you have to be selective on the roller head because you can hear it struggle plus its just hard to push. I run a modified v6 slim roller head with a small bar for all my rugs so it doest suck them up but fully cleans them. Big roller head for main carpets and a modified omnipro head for hardwood floors or just quick touch ups. Its actually pretty sweet. Before it was a swiffer vac head i made a adapter for. That definitely extended run times having no roller.😊

Hi Saumya ...m having mi robo ( for downstairs)and a bagless vaccum cleaner ( using only in upstairs) .i need something to clean steps , spider web, car. Should I go for ilife cordless or Dyson v 8 ...pl suggest..i m totally confused.

Hi Shubha, your use is calling for a cordless vacuum cleaner. You can consider this one amzn.to/37VwxUZ. Newer model, lesser priced, equivalent suction power, bigger bin size and a detachable battery - all good. Just make sure you are OK with the weight at 2.5kgs. The LCD screen is extremely useful in the V11 Pro. The one I bought last year doesn't have the option of swappable battery....but have never felt the need for it really

Hey, great video. I'm planning to buy V8. Just had a quick question, is regular mode enough for regular cleaning of floors/carpet? Also, how much does the battery reduce over time, in your experience?

Hi Arunav, yes regular modes are good for cleaning floors, carpets and upholstery requires a higher level setting. I've been using it close to a year now, not reduced at all. Dyson gives a 2 year warranty, including the battery. In general I have read it lasts about 4+ years, but depends a lot on usage and storage.

Hi, I saw in one of the youtube videos, the battery longevity of v8 is 1-3 years and for v10 and v11 it is 10-15 years. Is it true? is that the reason for the major cost different between v8 and v10, v11 models?

Hi KrishnaRaj! There are older versions also that last 10+ years! In genera dyson vacuum cleaners are known to last lot longer than others.

Really helpful reviews. I am little confused to pick V8 or V11? comparing the cost and other technology factors. My purpose is for cleaning mainly a size of 1400 sq feet apartment at max may be once a week. What do you suggest? Will a V8 be more than enough to suffice as V11 comes with a cost factor as well

Hi Saikat, I would consider either the v8 or v11. V10 is somewhat a stuck in the middle model at this time in my opinion. Not much incremental difference. Viewers have mentioned that v8 has good enough battery for deep cleaning once a week.

Hi again Saumya. I get excited when ever you make videos about electronic stuffs and specifically about Dyson. I saw a recent post in some tech blogs stating new releases were maid in UK(V15, Omniglide, Digital Slim). The Digital slim seems to be exactly the replica of V11, but in lighter form factor , Say just around 1.9 kg and with fewer attachments(only 3). And so do the price got dropped. On a offline chat with Dyson sales person(at MARCH), She said they are expecting such models in India by June. But the current situation might delay this for sure. Just thought of sharing this info. I wish your channel gets sponsored with such products to review them. Hope you achieve those mile stones soon!!. Stay safe and healthy.

Hi Vigneshwaran, thank you :) I saw that being mentioned in an Indian express article - they were not clear about the dates. It's launched at $699 I believe, so I think it will land at around the same price as v11 or higher. Being light weight is definitely beneficial. There is another model Roidmi F8 Storm which weighs only 1.3kgs! That got me excited too. I too wish I get these products to do a live experiment :D Should perhaps start reaching out to brands!

Hi Saumya, even though they advertise 60 min of runtime for V11, surprisingly I get 85 min while using the soft roller floor attachment on eco mode with fully charged battery. I wonder if its the same with other V11 users as well. Mine is without the swappable battery but I have never exhausted the battery in one go. It barely takes 3 min for a bedroom & little more time for the living room so if you are only doing the floors, its super quick.

Hi J.s. I too got similar battery performance during my 30 trial. In a single charge i was able to manage about 3 days (for 1200 Sq feet)with out need to change again. Its absolutely super quick.

Here is the story of me who intend to purchase v11 and ended up buying V8 absolute. I have purchase V8 absolute last month at an offer price of 31k and to be frank, I am surprised by the way the machine works. it's an engineering marvel. Another factor I noticed is that, the dealing of Dyson representatives. They are very professional and well educated about the product. I booked a video demo in my mind for purchasing V11 but after discussing with their product expert he carefully asked about my floor size and what are my main point of consideration and suggested me to go for V8. They never try to upsell they listen to your needed and suggest the product. The machine works really well after vacuuming with the barefoot I can feel how clean the floor is. It's almost like the floor had been wiped with a wet mop. It can clean that well. The fit and finish of the product have to be also mentioned; everything snap-in and comes out so easily. Hi Saumya ! I have been using dyson V8 absolute + since December . I feel it cleans better than our regular sweeping and mopping and is very convenient to use. After watching your video I am planning to buy a MI mop P for my mother (as it is difficult for her to walk around with Dyson). I want to know whether it requires Wifi to work ?

Hi Francis, that's great to know about Dyson v8 Absolute+! I think it is sufficient as well at a much lower pricepoint compared to the latest model. Regarding MI vacuum mop - you do need wifi initially to setup the schedules. But once that is done, it can operate without wifi.

Hi Sri Priya! Haha thank you. I have straight-ish hair anyway. Only ends get curled up - which I straighten. I don’t use conditioner as it affects my hair, but post wash i do use a bodyshop serum to smoothen the hair. Thats it, no muss no fuss 😊

Hi Prerana - hmm it's quite an old model with much lower run time, lower suction power and heavier too. Dyson has improvised on their models significantly since v7. I don't plan a detailed review of that anytime soon. Sorry

My neighbour bought it last year, she used it 5-6 times... it's sitting idle since... She can allow her maid use it, but it's expensive and the maid might break it...

How much is the suction power in each of the 3 modes? please give the details so that i will be able to understand the suction power that i will get while using battery saver mode.

Unfortunately that is not published by Dyson - as far as I’m aware. The suction power mentioned will be the highest - so in the top mode that runs only for about 5+ minutes. Medium suction is good for most vacuuming, for floors, low suction is sufficient.

@@TheGrapevineIndia Thanks a lot for the reply. Initially i thought of going for Robot vacuum, but I need only dry cleaning, mopping function not needed. But the Navigation is robot vacuum seems to be very poor, may be in future it will get fine tuned. so thought of going for the Dyson V11 pro which is light weight and gets my work done in 30~40 minutes for 1200 sq feet flat. I don't want to keep meddling with the app & settings of the robot vacuum which i feel is much more painful than the actual work itself. Hope my case will be useful for you in some way.

Please make a video on v12 also
