The Pendulum Z are still worth it even 10 months later.They have such banger Digimon on them like, Armadillomon a funny round boy. And of course how could we forget Armadillomon? With his cute pumpkin like mouth. But the one who carries the device on his shoulders is the one and only, Armadillomon. What a great character. But fun fact! Did you know that they have unlockable slots? And they put one of the best characters behind an unlock. Armadillomon! WOW! So yes you should get this device people!

I ended up buying the whole collection a few months ago, and the collector in me doesn't regret it at all. I think it's a fun device that I keep going back to even though the DMX is my favorite. I usually have a DMX and a Pen Z going at the same time. 😂 I'm late to the Digimon thing so I missed out on the Pen 20th and can't justify the prices, but I feel like I get enough out of the Z that I'm not missing out too much. Hopefully, they will release the rumored Pen Color soon! One thing I think I am fine with that some of the OG Digimon folks have a hard time with the Z is the pendulum itself. I think OG Pen 20th folks got really used to that pendulum system and the Z is very different. It didn't take me long to figure out that I just need to shake it at any rhythm until X amount of beeps. But I can see why they find it odd at first. I would still like to try the 20th, so hopefully the color will forego the accelerometer for the older Pen 20th setup. If not, hopefully they use a better, less sensitive accelerometer. I brought my Pen Z on a car trip since I wasn't driving. It was tough getting the right number of markers because every time we hit a bump in the road it would read it as a shake. 😅 But I like the Pen Z, especially since even the ravenous collector in me refuses to pay the price for a Pen 20th. A Pen Z and a DMX is a great combo together! Personally I have more problems with the Pen 20th pedometer than I do the Z's. I can never get the counts right on that device and it can become quite frustrating. It's so awesome that you have the whole collection. Right now I only have the Nightmare Soldier and the Wind Guardians but one day I'll get the rest.

I’m so glad you did this video! I’ve always been hesitant about looking into the Pen Z because of its similarities to the DMX device. I didn’t know about the unique Jogressing mechanic, and that’s really interesting about the pendulum being removable. I might take another look at those devices now!

You know me I'm a Pendulum fan boy and I'll stand for them like Star Platinum but if you're thinking about trying a Pendulum the Z is the perfect one to start with.

Brilliant overview, gents. The Pen Z is defo one of the devices I run quite often. I like the theme of each device and enjoy not having having to deal with the dice rolls. Doing 'Honesty' runs, using only my own backed up Digimon for jogress, can be a really enjoyable way to play. But on the flip side, it can be just as fun to blast your way through the evo stages. It's a great all-rounder imo.

I totally agree with you and really won't get more. Right now I only have the Nightmare Soldier and the Wind Guardians but one day I'd like to get them all.

I didn't even know that about the shakes depending on type. Wow

I recently bought wave 2 and ended up getting all the them lol the price ranges are good just really have to look for the right sellers lol

Great video Digi-dudes. I have all six PenZs and yeah, they're pretty much DmXs with the Pendulum shell and features😂 as my first pendulum devices i really liked them, i still want to get a 20th, i hope by some miracle they get re released at some point in english and they prices drop. Personaly i don't see a lot of negatives in the PENZ sure they are very Jogress heavy which is a thing since the originals. I think the biggest negative in my opinion is the second part of the unlockables, the first part of the unlockables, the 02 lines are totally unique for each device while the second part of the unlockables are Agumon and Agnimon lines for each device of wave 1 and Gabumon and Wolfmon for each device of wave 2, i'm not a huge fan of repeated lines. Another thing that i did for the heck of it. I have like 5 Dm20s one of each wave and right now they are all running their respective lines from the original DMs with the second mon for each being random.😂

Right now I only have one device from each wave so I do really mind the second unlock able line that much. I guess if I had them all I might feel a little cheated.

There is one thing I really, really do not like about the Pendulum Z which should be noted. Of the 41 Digimon available in total on the roster (a pretty good amount), 16 of them are locked behind connecting to other devices. So if you're only buying a single device, that roster gets cut down to just 25. These unlocks are also very linear evo lines that barely, if at all, interact with the rest of the chart. Furthermore, the connections itself are ridiculous. You need to connect to the other two devices from your device's wave, plus a specific device from the opposite wave. Compare this to the DMX, which only locks a single Digimon behind connecting with a single device. If you have an A/Dcom that's no big issue, but for anyone who doesn't have one or doesn't want to use one, it puts a serious dent in the device's content and introduces an incredible paywall to completing even just one device.

I think its a good marketing...u need to buy more than 1 to unlock the special monsters...just like the old pendulum and vpet...u need atleast 2 to battle and jogress...

The Wind Guardians, I love that one and it's a wave 2 so by connecting the two you'll be able to unlock special mons.

I got the nature spirits pen Z from Amazon Japan for a good price. It's my first pen device and honestly I thought it was cool with lots of Digimon in them. Only thing I hated about them was you can't Evo into anyone you want without jogress. And if you don't have an a-com/d-com/another penZ device to do the jogress with then you're shit out of luck. I prefer the DMX device a lot more than the penZs

You are able to jogress with other Digimon you have in your backup slots. So, an adult level Digimon that you want to jogress and you have another it your backup they can jogress. I hope this little bit of info makes your time with Pen Z more enjoyable.

I think it just depends on how hardcore of a Digimon fan you are. I think if someone just wants one v-pet and they don't feel the need to have the option to raise any Digimon that exists, then I'd say it's not worth it, just get a Digimon X or a Digimon 20th for a cool 20 dollars. But if you collect v-pets or you're so into Digimon that you want to be able to raise as many different digimon as possible, then it's absolutely worth it, if you can get it for a decent price. They were what, 40 bucks a piece when they launched? I'd say don't pay more than 60 for one. Personally, I love these rosters, so it was worth it to me. But if I wasn't able to get them for their original price, I wouldn't have got these and been happy with Pendulum 20th, because they roll 3 devices into one, and I like the rosters better. But I know i'm gonna care about them less once the inevitable Pendulum Colors are released.

i recently bought ma very first pendulum , the Nature Spirits Pendulum Z and it's an amazing device! kinda like the brick X versions, and I love those allot 2 :) so I ordered the 2 other ones from that wave aswell, .... cous I "need" ma AguBoy ^^ being very similar to the brick X device's,but still different I RLY like them allot BUT !!! let's be fair, it cost's tomuch , I just payed like 150-200 bucks (i'mEU,so €,for all 3 of that wave) to get the 3 from that wave,and unlock all the Mons in that wave ...that's allot ... would love the virus buster version, or even a 20th version pendulum... but pendulums are overpriced... :/ sadly

That is a lot and I understand that but most of that comes from Bandai making them a limited run and not a mass market product. On the other hand I do consider them affordable compared to the Pen 20th because you can buy 3 Pen Z for the price of one Pen 20th. With the help of a D-Com you can unlock all the special Digimon with only owning one device.

i just made it all the way to mega + on the digimon pendulum z and got armageddemon

I don't know if you have a D-Com or not but you can use one of those to battle against a wave 2 device.
