The reason you shod use a tax professional (cpa, ea, etc.) is to ensure your taxes are prepared and filed correctly. Because if they are filed correctly, then all possible tax savings are accounted for. It shouldn't be about how much savings vs how much your billed. Out of the hundreds of self prepared tax returns I review each year, I find errors on probably 30-40% of them.

I work at a CPA firm and we only charge by the hour on consultations. If we’re doing an individual 1040 tax return with a basic W2 we charge a flat rate that does not increase the longer it takes. We’re not here to rob you and profit, just to help with your burden caused by the IRS

  • @BabyASHofficial

We also do 15 minute free consultations about 90% of the time and if it’s a complicated case that needs 2 hours of consultation then we charge $150 by the hour.

Why is he always against CPAs? CPAs have a much more rigorous process to get qualified than EAs, yet he always make it seem like EA is the way to go since he has an EA.

I dont think Karlton shading CPAs, I think he's just saying it's not worth the higher price tag if you're just paying for data entry. You can do that yourself. But the way I look at it is EAs are tax specialists, CPAs can do so many different services.. Alot of CPAs may not even do taxes lol. All I know is, CPAs and EAs is better than nonqualified people like Pookie who do fraud entries to get people huge refunds 😂

Bro you’re talking about big accounting firms and making it sound like that how most CPAs charge and work. Smaller cpa firms and Individual CPA tax preparers have the time to do everything you’re mentioning. Smaller firms and Individual CPA work the same as an EA would. You may want to stop with the misinformation before you ruin your own reputation. You don’t have to play the EA vs CPA game. When you open your mouth we can tell you are knowledgeable. Just run with that. That’ll serve you better than putting your foot in your mouth like you just did.

A CPA isn't worth it, so come pay me. Weeks to prepare your return. Pleeaaseee... who do you know that paid $10k and regrets it. If they paid $10k for taxes, their portfolio is stupid complicated. If you have crypto though... well you didn't know what you were talking about to start with.

This is kinda misleading. CPAs are the top business professionals of course they will be looking out to see if they will be able to help you. That's why they almost always offer free consultations. And another tip is to use a mid sized firm to ensure they have the people and resources to quickly process your return unlike a small firm where this might actually happen
