Omar, how could you forgot the one main advantage of this frame. You can have moving painting like you see in Harry Potter!!!

I have the 55inch as a TV for a year now. I am also an amateur photographer and I was not crazy about having this huge black rectangular on my wall (a TV), so I picked up the Frame because when I am not watching TV, it displays artwork / my photos. On the opposite wall I have a 100cm x 70cm print of one of my photos and during the day you can't tell which one is the TV 😊
This is great! Learned a lot from you about Fuji and now you‘re reviewing precisely the TV I am interested in. Thanks a lot!
We've had the 55" as the center piece of a gallery wall in our living room for years now, and absolutely love it. It's surprisingly convincing during the daytime.
This is such a great review, finally someone answering all my questions! Thank you
Outstanding review, I love when people pass on this kind of info knowing what the consumers are interested in. Thanks Omar!!!!
THANK YOU! finally another person talking about viewing distance re: retina. It's ALL about viewing distance. People think in the future we'll have super high DPI displays and it'll be life changing. We'll only need super high DPI when we are displaying something inches from our eyes. Not a TV half a room away.
Very good video so detailed and full of information, thanks and keep up with the great content
Great review - really helpful thanks.
Great review, exactly the model I am looking at getting but also considering the 4K 43". Love your reviewing style btw
Thanks. That was great info. Just researching about the frame tv. Really would like one.
The best review I’ve seen. I have the 50 inch 2021 version and are getting this nice little one that you recommend :) the size is sooo much better for displaying photos..
Thanks Omar. I know you are using this for it's tv function too but I have been looking at digital picture frames and those are ridiculously priced and the image quality does seem that great. I never thought of going this route. I may have to give it a try.
Great review man! I just randomly ordered this tv for my bedroom today, actually pretty keen to get it now! Haha 😆
Nice one Omar. I bought the Lenovo equivalent but it's not a TV just electronic picture frame, but it's an excellent product with that limitation (plus the fact that you need Google photos to run it). Also comes with a range of inbuilt impressionist art paintings that come up nicely.

I would love to see Omar's thoughts on that one, I think with the Samsung I would never bother to dig up that thumb drive and change pictures on it.
Balanced review, nice. Kept thinking that this product type would be a good fit for displaying photos in a smallish gallery; sorta with previews of printed and matted offerings, if that makes sense. Cool connect box - should be expandable. How about built-in Fuji film simulations?
This was very timely as I was just watching these on the Cyber Monday blowout deal. I noticed the 32” was the only one that was not 4K. People in the forums said if you chatted with Samsung before purchase, they would include one of their $49 “wood frames” that blend the tv frame into your decor.

Just received m $29 yellow one to paint lol
Oh I was thinking about this tv for when I'll move to a new place next year. I'm glad I picked the X-rite plus when I bought it since it supports hdr+10 so I'll calibrate it ^^
Awesome review, buying one for every room!
I got my FRAME TV last year for Christmas. Love it! And it does fool a lot of people. I got the 43" and even that "invisible" wire is still visible, so we put it in the wall. Looks amazing! Thanks @Omar!!!
Looks pretty dope. And I beleived you at the begining
I purchased the same model last year and attached frame wire to the two screw pegs then literally hung it up on the wall with a picture hanger. The Frame is 11.4 pounds on a scale and the picture hanger can handle 30 pounds of weight. By far the simplest setup, easy to level this way and the least invasive on our walls.

Ha, that's pretty neat!
2021 model? Saw a few reviews of the 2022 (larger models) and supposedly there are some good improvements. As always, I appreciate your insights Omar.
FWIW, I've never mounted a TV before and had no problem mounting my 55" Frame TV last week. I used better mounting hardware where I was unable to locate usable wall studs, but that was no big deal. Samsung really should include some better drywall mounting hardware, IMO.
Great review! Random question what hair clip do you use to shave your head!?
I love that you can change the mat color
great review, can you let me know if you're not using cable but just want the tv for roku and art, do you still need the one connect box or can you just put a roku stick in the hdmi slot? i want to be able to mount it (obviously) but that connect box is kinda disallowing me to do that. thanks!
Wow. So cool!!!
Omar, thank you for this fab review from a photographer. How's it holding for ya? Do an update vid?
Looks like Omar went a little Black on Friday… From time to time I batch-Photoshop to give my latest best-of’s a slight vignette and white frame and save them to a "screensaver" album in Apple’s Photos app, which I set as a source for my Apple TV screensaver. Takes no time, and no money, and looks pretty much like the Samsung. I mean, it’s basically a screensaver option, right?
Ty. Don't think you mentioned. The artwork they have stock and for purchase ?
Haha! That intro was hilarious!
Omar, is there any way to display videos or gifs with this?
The start was funny 🤣
is the color good? is it good for using on pc/mac? or should i get a 43" one for 4k
Can it go into frame mode after x hours ? And also turn off at certain times?
Damn I would really love this screen but I couldn't convince the manager (read: wife). It is quite pricey for sure but I think it's worth it. Our big TV ends up as a frame at least once a day when the Chromecast stops playing something and automatically switches to the slideshow. I love that! It brings many memories, unearths thousands of forgotten photos from their digital catacombs and we often end up discussing some of the events. I think in the modern digital age such a device should be a must in every home to give pictures the visibility they deserve.

haha, I have the same problem with my husband... I would like the Frame and he says "Nah."... lets dump them and get the Frame together. wink wink...
Nice & Thanks :)
Are you able to lower the adjust the TV's rgb or color temperature so it displays images true to color?
Does it supports google assistant with microphone?
Does it need to be 1080p or just a 16:9 ratio?
Im seriously considering getting this for my van
Can you play a music channel in the background at the same time the pictures are scrolling?
Hi, can we put that 32in one Connect cable version (thick) in-wall?
Do you mean crop to 1080p or crop to 16x9 or both? May possibly get this for my cousin who is an artist but not a photographer.
Question: do you need to transfer the images from the thumb drive to the frame's memory to view them in art mode (with fancy mat)? If so, how much memory does it have? My older frame holds maybe 400 photos and when you want to show others directly from the thumb drive it shows them in only regular TV slideshow mode, like any Samsung tv.

i have the same question. hope this be answered.
Is this a smart tv?can i put google applications?so the antenna doesnt fit on the box?you have to place it on the tv?
I wish you had shown it being used as a monitor to see how the resolution and formatting sets up
I just got one for half price, I feel that it’s a good deal and since the tv is in a place where it’ll be seen on the side often I think the flush mount is a bonus

There's 2 cable options. The thin fiber optic cable is meant to go on the outside of the wall while the cable you have is meant for behind the wall.
Hey...was that red and blue houseboat picture taken in Vancouver??? I took a similar picture of those when I was there recently but there was a big yacht blocking me so my picture isn't as nice as yours! Assuming they're the same boats....

Oh wait...I guess if watched the rest of the video...it was a shot from Vancouver lol :) Cool!
Can an app display framed pictures? Or a dedicated box? Don’t want to buy a whole TV to do that.
Thanks
Hmm seems like the 32” is a con. You don’t get all those bell and whistle like the larger models.
Awesome. Tv audio is always bad because they want you to get a sound bar. Gone are the days of CRT with great sound
@Jabber-ig3iw
2 жыл бұрын
Some TVs still have good sound. I’ve just bought an LG C1 and the speakers are fantastic.
Can you mount this in portrait mode?
I looked closely at the frame a couple of years back. Key thing missing for me was how to get photos onto the frame. Having to copy via USB stick is a completely broken way to do this in an online world - surely it needs to be able to pull selected photos from all the main online photo sites (Facebook, Instagram, Google Photos, iCloud, Adobe CC etc etc.). My solution was a Sony Android TV with a screensaver app that has this functionality. My family and friends love seeing our regularly updated family favourite pictures on the screensaver, pulled automatically from online
@ogonzilla

True. It should be seamless. An attached Apple TV, google chrome or Roku is highly recommend. I have the smugmug app on the roku
@agerbak
2 жыл бұрын
@@ogonzilla I agree that those 3rd party boxes have great features like this. However they only work if the TV happens to be set to that input or you manually invoke it. I want my photos to kick in on the screen saver regardless of which attached box / source we've been watching from. So it had to be a feature of the TV's own screen saver. I found no TV that offered this out of the box (WHY, TV companies!!!??), but at least Sony allows apps from the Android app store to replace their core screen saver functionality, and there's a decent app for that
So, what did it end up looking like in the kitchen? Just today my wife and I decided to get one of these for a wall in our kitchen since she is always watching TV on her laptop while cooking.
Have had the 55 inch in our living room for about a year, fools a lot of people and get's a lot of compliments!
Where is remote sensor for this TV? Can I hide the box and still use the remote?
Any updates for the 2022 version?
I can see the pixels. Really wish they didn't cheap out on the smaller model.
Hi , is there a slideshow option in the samsung frame menu? are there any other choices of showing photos other then samsung frame menu? like tv menu etc because I want use short clips and gif images on it snd I don't know if I can do it without connecting other computer
Ahh heck I was banking on the thin cable!! Still, excited for a tv to fit my Victorian styled bedroom, will blend in with my gallery wall seamlessly
Would you recommend using it as a monitor?
Does it require power to display the picture? If so, that's a waste. I didnt want a black box dominating the room so I got rid of my TV. It was a hood decision
Now that a true HDR screen can be used as a display medium, what should future photographers consider? 1. Can TRUE HDR still photography become a popular artform? 2. Should a new thought process for "correct exposure" be used for displaying TRUE HDR? 3. How would smart phone pictures compare with mirroless/DSLR pictures if the display medium became so large instead of simply viewing on a tiny smartphone screen? Great review! I feel it is about time that photographers started considering that modern and future displays especially 8K and HDR, high contrast screens maybe a serious part of the future of viewing photographs and probably that should be taken into consideration while creating photographic art. In fact, perhaps the mirroless/DSLR camera manufactures should also bear this in mind when creating their next camera. Perhaps in camera 10bit JPEG options should become the norm? An HDR screen at the back of the camera maybe helpful to visualize how a shot might look if displayed on such a high contrast capable medium.
On ugry cable for box and another one for air antenna if you need it like me.... THE FRAME WITH 2 CABLES :)
Will this tv be on to play ps5 on?
Is this the 2021 model?
The new one is on the way with Matt antiglare screen
does it have a limit as to how many pictures you can upload to it / or display on the usb? thanks :) great review btw this tv almost convincing me lol.
Can you stream your images from a NAS?
@maciejprzybyszewski3077

Nope. On the bigger version you can upload photos through the smart things app. Not sure if this one has this also
Samsung screens are always warmer. That includes phones. I've checked every samsung display I've had next to my calibrated monitor..
That intro got me confused and laughing
it should sync with google photos.
Do you know if this can be mounted to a swivel mount that mounts to the wall?
I straight up watched a frame review not 20 before this video came out. Not prompted or thought about. Omar is now part of the targeting advertisers lol

@@ogonzilla You had way more information I was actually looking for. The other reviews all reviewed it just as a TV by TV reviewers. I mainly wanted to know how it worked as a picture frame that also was a TV.
Omar that is not a life hack, it's adding value, you will have an artisanally painted frame
thumbs up

Got a Samsung Frame 55’’ TV in July 20 for Rs 89K, family went abroad in oct 20,came back Apr 22,TV used till May 23 normal watching,TV died last week, called @SamsungIndia technician quoted Rs 55k panel dead. Need to file a legal case
I don't know why on earth they wouldn't give you the thinner cable for the 32 inch one. It's like they're punishing you for not spending more 😂😂. Yeah that's going to have to go straight into the wall.
so really it just put a border? Seems like there has to be an tv app that would do that? Seems sort of expensive to a comparable smart TV. Also wouldn't that kill the display in the long run with the border always being a static color?
How disturbing is it when all lights are off in the room?
Funny how the opinions vary from person to person. This is by far the worse TV I ever owned, I own the 65". It looks like a giant electronic photo-frame that fools no one. I have it connected to my stereo and it keeps dropping the Toslink signal, you have to unplug it to reboot unlike other Samsung models that you just have to hold the On/off for 5 seconds, and I can go on, and the worse of it all, it has ads built in on the task bar that cannot be turned off. The second that it fails, and it will, it is a Samsung, it is going in the garbage and I will get a Sony.
@absolutium

You seem to have a defective unit.. not once has the optical output failed with mine.
Where’s the frame install wire? Not many people will want to make a hole in the wall?!
Ah yes I want a white frame
Marc Rebillet is the only art worthy of the Frame tv.
MEHT
I like the idea of this, but the execution needs work.
So this stays on forever? Isn't it an ecological non-sens?
😂😂😂😂😂😂
why there is not the invisible cable…? does Samsung has cannibalism fear ?

Ten years from now, you'll laugh at how primitive this is! Sadly, this is the future, and images on paper will become a distant memory.
