yeah it starts to get good with experience or a degree, CS degree is not easy in a good uni, loads of maths in the first 2 years, then you can for a SAA and you will have good chances of landing a job, or have a lot of exp in the field.@@user-ss7pp3nm8k

It's Fundamental to take the Cloud Practitioner Exam. When you prepare for it, and pass the exam your moral goes up, and you feel confident about your AWS journey. It's like a booster to get started.

As a multicloud professional, yes it is. The Certified Cloud Professional teaches you the basics of AWS services. It is important to have knowledge about a cloud provider. Even though I am a Microsoft Certified Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100), I still passed my Azure Fundamentals first. Finally, employers still list the AWS CCP on their job descriptions so the applicant tracking system (ATS) is searching for it.

I have AWS CCP cert. The exam gives basic knowledge of AWS which is useful in my opinion for entry level tech professionals or even non-tech professionals. Knowing the cloud is extremely beneficial.

You pack so much relevant information in to these videos. The "market demand" section and time it took you studying for the Solutions Architect Professional exam ( 100 hrs ) is valuable knowledge. Thanks!

for entry level support or business role in IT company, yes it's worth it; for someone to get a grasp and overview of aws, yes; it also gets you comfortable with the aws exam format; aws solutions architect associate matters much more and paired up with hands on aws labs as well as real understanding of the services will get you that cloud engineer job

Thank you Lucy for the video. In the end, you have to make an effort and invest a lot of time for the certification. It's not like you get it for doing nothing. I think that's the beauty of the badges. knowledge with proof. I start small with the AWS Educate "getting started with.." courses and finish with the (CLF-C01). And no, you should try not to believe that certification is a direct door opener into a company. Proof of portfolio or practical experience are always an advantage. Please also note that the (CLF-C01) is only available until September 18th, 2023. The successor (CLF-C02) will be available from September 19th, 2023

That was probably the best rundown of the pros and cons of the certification I've come across. Very well done indeed! As a Program Manager, I was reluctant to pursue the certification, but low and behold my position calls it. As I started to study for the certification two things happened: 1st. I found it more interesting than I thought I would 2nd. My team immediately recognized almost immediately that I was far better questions of them. To the extent, that my Operations Manager asking me, "Are you studying more tech?" To which, I had to answer yes. I have to tell the truth it felt pretty good having a better understanding of the technologies my team is working on. And it's lit a fire in me late in my career that I'm really starting to enjoy. So, I agree 100% with your video...very well done!

Thanks for the video. I am an iOS developer but my company wants us all to get this certification. I haven't worked much with the cloud yet so I feel like this will really help my backend knowledge as well as help me communicate with backend teammates. I started studying a couple of days ago, and while I get it's a shallow look there really is a lot of information to absorb.

So I failed my Solutions Architect the first time, found your videos and used turtorials dojo 15 practice exam. Most authentic questions and explanations for the SAA C03 imo.

Hi Lucy, 1st thanks for taking the time to do this! For me, I'm skipping the Cloud Practitioner Cert. I gained a Learning Badge for Practitioner & Essentials; these have been enough for my goals. I'm now studying for the Solutions Architect Cert. Yes, I'm skipping the Associates Cert too. ☺ Since there are no perquisites, taking these other Certs doesn't seem either Cost or Time effective. This path will actually have the level of impact I'm looking for within my skillset. Having those other Certs will not change my current status. I'll let you know how it works out 😎

Hi, I would like to become a Data Scientist and I almost learned many skills, but I have heard having cloud skills keeps me ahead of others and I am confused about whether to choose Microsoft Azure or AWS. So based on that I either prepare for AWS Certified cloud practitioner CLF-02 OR Azure Data fundamentals. Please respond.

I was able to land a job in the cloud with just a CCP cert, although I believe the certification itself wasn't the sole reason for that. Many factors to consider tbh, like having a good resume, strong interview skills, solid IT fundamentals, some exp in Windows/Linux administration, etc... So yeah, if you want a job in the cloud CCP cert only won't cut it.

How do you build a good resume if it is hard to land an entry level position? I have been getting certs and am trying to build projects now

I have the AWS CP but I also have other Certs. I think the mix of certifications & experience is beneficial. However if you’re trying to get into tech then it shows employers you’re serious about your learning if you obtain the AWS Cloud Practitioner. It’s always important to start with the basics: fundamentals with anything.

A lot of people underestimate the real power of having fundamental knowledge. AWS CCP is usually taught at the most fundamental level, with examples and illustrations even non-technical people can relate with. That alone gives people the drive and energy to keep going. Fundamental knowledge is really helpful. If you can get the CCP, get it. It also sort of gives you a lot to talk about at interviews particularly for entry level cloud roles, especially if you have a non-technical background..... I dont know wh anyone will say dont do it, it cost few bucks and u can scale it preparing in just 1 month

I am working at a Helpdesk IT for almost 2 years . I want to enter into cloud so i am preparing for cloud practioner and then i will for solution architect. I do not have any degree and just have a 2 years networking Diploma . I was thinking to get Comptia network plus first and then AWS CP and then solution architect. The reason I wanted to get network plus because it is a plus point if i am applying for wethere aws or something else And second if i am not able to find aws then atleast i can find something better than now because as i see less cloud job these days . If i want to move to cloud should go for these 3 certifications or just cloud practioner and solution architect?

You would need to go on the AWS site and either book the test through Pearson Vue or PSI. What error did you get?

Lucy, I’m about to start my aws school next year, is it the same as IT, and which school should I choose ??

I found the CCP great, it gave me a really good feeling about this direction. However, I've found that the next level is much harder and so I'm now trying to climb that mountain. Writing the Associate Architect exam tomorrow, wish me luck. ✌

Doing a certification early in my cloud journey was really beneficial for me.. I actually regretted why I didn't get it earlier... apart from the knowledge .. the confidence it gives is really nice :)

I thought about not getting it but after going over some of the topics, I see it's a good foundation to learn the products and how or when to use them. Plus, a small win will boost your confidence. $100 for a training boost is worth it IMO.

I definitely recommend doing the AWS CP exam first. I just took the AWS SA exam and failed, but I’ll need to see what questions I got wrong to better prepare for both exams and eventually prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Professional exam. I’m usually someone who preaches fundamentals is 🔑 to anything you do. At that point when I took the exam, I figured I had enough foundational knowledge to answer those situational questions in the AWS SA exam. The reason being is because I’ve been applying my learnings from just going into the console and playing with things for my startup before I even got into an AWS CP course through my college and decided to take the AWS SA on my own volition. It didn’t hurt to take it, though. I have two weeks before I can take it again.

Yeah you should do AWS CP first before AS because AS is more difficult.

For tech workers: the Cloud Practitioner cert is worth it if most of your work’s in a different cloud, and you want a basic overview of AWS. If you primarily work (or want to work) with AWS’ technologies, you 100% should start with ‘Architect - Associate’. For non-tech roles, yes, you should get the Cloud Practitioner cert if your company uses AWS, or if you want to be slightly more marketable while job hunting.

👍 CCP is useful. For those who aren't technical with IT, CCP is useful as foundation. Even finance team, who aren't technical, can get this to understand how the billing works.

I'm a software engineer working in web tech and it keeps coming up in job adverts (at least you need to have some familiarity with AWS or GCP) so i need to start learning, however full honesty, the whole topic is just so very boring to me I don't know if i can pay attention to it long enough to learn it.

Watch out for a discount voucher for a CP exam. So you pay $50, pass it easy and get an idea how the exams work, you get a 50% discount for the SAA. So for $125 you get both.

Even as Sales Support, I had to take this exam. Passed today! Next, I gotta sit for Azure Fundamentals. 🥴

TL;DR Taking both CCP and SAA would be 175$, NOT 250$ Great breakdown, thank you! but I do have to point out that the 250$ cost for getting CCP and SAA is wrong. If you pass CCP, the next cert exam (ANY of them) you take is 50% off, which would make getting SAA 75$, so in total, getting both certs would be 175$ (100+75). If your main concern is money, skipping the CCP exam and going straight to SAA only saves you 25$ (175& vs 150$). That being said, there are other factors to consider such as time and effort etc so ultimately it depends on your needs. For those prepping for the certs, good luck!

Probably worth it to learn the basics. But the exam is 100% filled with intentionally “gotcha” questions that don’t really make you better suited to take care of your customers for knowing them. The Azure exam was in my opinion a better gauge on what you learned. Just my 2 cents.
