Good truck for open minded folks. If you don't need to go 300 miles a charge or you need to tow like from one place in town to another, go to the store charger, pick up groceries, come back, work charging into your life schedule. Its not as hard as you think everywhere I go has chargers. Better acceleration than most trucks, you don't have diesel burn smell, you got lots of features and good looks, not another noisy ass truck annoying everyone you are near silent in this. No more gas!

Just Got the same color one delivered today. Brand new, 511A package with sunroof, deployable bds boards and lariat extended range, beautiful and gorgeous color and drives like a dream. and I daily drive a new tesla MYLR that really drives nice. but this Baby IS THE ONE. 😍🥰❤❤

I'm getting a F150 Lightning for the leg room, I'm 6'5 in height and this truck works perfect for me. Thanks for the review because I'm picking mine up 11/3/2023 Antimatter Blue ext range.

In the 1990s Ford called it Midnight Blue. When it was brought back on the 2021 returned Bronco it was renamed Antimatter Blue. It is a Metallic. But unless it's a very sunny day and the vehicle is in direct light, with the door open part way, and you sneeze to the right, it looks like Shadow black. That's probably why there was no AB for 2022 Broncos

It’s a great truck, but it isn’t a long distance hauler. Electrics are great for short - medium daily commutes and if it’s in your price range a great option. However, I am just about sold on the idea of PHEVs since you can short trip on electric and then hybrid (with power) everything else. Also, ICE are just going to be better for hauling.

Thats interesting because millions are getting around just fine. When gas powered vehicles first hit the market, the small minded people complained about fuel access.

Good looking truck the Antimatter Blue is a sweet color!

It's nice that they developed a 3 -dimensional grill for the front. The lighting around the front fascia looks like a fluorescent bulb and is that a AM radio whip antenna from the 70's in 2023? The color is really nice. I'm surprised with the center screen integration as it extends above the dash line yet in the Ranger the screen is nicely integrated as it looks like it was designed to work with the profile of the dash.

I still don't understand that antenna on all large trucks/pickups. No one has given a decent reason for them to remain. If it's for AM radio, I have that in my vehicle with my sharkfin.

How does the range change in the winter?

The Lariat trim should have a panoramic roof for that price. Ford kept it simple which is not a bad thing. Competition will be stiff once the others hit the market though.

Sorry Joe, truck buyers should go with a non-EV truck, for starters the price, secondly ford are not make any money on their EVs, and third but not final is the range drastically is reduced if you pull a trailer and cold weather! Dealerships have over a 130 day supply with small discounts.

Range, towing and in cold weather is garbage. There is 4 on the lot in North Dakota that have been on the lot over a year. Watch hoovies garage for this review of ownership

@@ugabuga1361 it’s really about control, Control of your travel and who can own a vehicle … this is to squeeze out the little guy in the name of Mother Nature … but yes either way useless and our power grid cannot sustain what they forecast by year 2030 or even 2035 … I don’t blame these automakers for it, I only blame them for laying down and taking it.. except for Porsche and Toyota who are against this whole thing.

Very cool. Range is light. I'd rather see more range and less acceleration. But there's some fun touches.

Ford is designing a new electric pickup that will engineered as an electric and built at their new plant in TN. The Lightning will be relegated to Ford Pro only. I believe this all new EV pickup will be out sometime in 2026.

My current truck is showing signs wear so, I am keeping my Chevy Silverado reservation and plan for its availability sometime next year. Joe's June ride and tow demo review of the WT was convincing enough for me that the 4WT trim with the 450 mile range would work for daily towing of the equipment trailer I haul between job sites i visit. Topping off charge at home each night instead of my bi-weekly diesel fill ups is icing on the cake. Just to add here, I will be able to ditch the gas generator for powering my work site power tool needs is another reason to transition from ICE to EV. The Lightning Pro trim level is nice but the Silverado 4WT has a better use case for me using as a work truck that has a longer 6 foot bed. I do not have enough knowledge about the RAM REV at this point to add it to my list. As for Cyber truck it is not for me, its too much like a rolling computer than a work truck. Rivian has too plush of an interior and too small of a bed for my needs.

SVT LIghtning forever, should have named this one the short circuit or something. Shocking review, thanks gents!

Very smooth and handles very well

Hop it is reliable as an internal combustion engine.

You can drive over to a Mr. Empanada, read a few chapters of Tom Sawyer while you're charging up and head back to the dealership as long as you're not towing. Real well designed and attractive interior.

$74,800 for a truck that can’t go 300 miles on a single charge. Love the video, but it’s a no go for that kind of money. Keep up the great work, Joe! You are still the best content creator on KZread!!

What's crazy is they said $40,000 and that's what everybody was excited about but they went and changed it. And really it should be about $35k.

Joe, that’s excellent review, honestly in last two day you kept shifted my mind. The other day I wanted that 2023 F-250, now after you brought this Lightning EV F-150 and reviewed especially that color antimatter blue is a gorgeous color, I thought to myself what did I want to have a bigger truck that going to empty my wallet despite that here in California gas pretty close to $6.00 bucks/gallon, that Lightning, is absolutely fantastic truck for an EV truck, beside I’m a huge Ford fan, I won’t drive anything else regardless, one things that you always highlighted the think you would shank it about the product, yeah…for that price, full panoramic sunroof is must,I agree 100% with you, since EV is another modern technology in this new era. Yes I know the old day lighting but for this EV F-150 lightning ⚡️is another level, it’s true lightning, I mean electric ladyland, (lol) Jimmi Hendrix that truck it can light up the whole highway when it come crossing another trucks, thanks Joe for bringing up this Lightning. It’s fantastic review that would change the way people will buy their next vehicle, at least me, you got me on this one, I would set my mind into my next New F-150 lightning, I realized now why did I want a big Truck, when I don’t have anything to tow except my my road race bicycle and camping as another hobby, I can sleep in the back seat with all that room spaces since I’m only 5’5 foot tall old men, I love the front trunk spaces and all that all electrical connectors. That was the best review that make me set my mind to have one for myself on my retirement day and it’s just right in the corner. Modern EVs are already excellent vehicles... I'd just like to see them get cheaper. Prices for new cars are insane!

I just bought one of these. Considering it's the fastest accelerating F150 ever made, I think calling it "The Lightning" is appropriate since it is a performance-vehicle.

Electric Tows 7000lbs yet range is 100 miles hmm...wouldn't a full tank of gas get you the same range at 7000lbs aswell?

A decent first try, but the CyberTruck is going to rip it to shreds next year. A few people will enjoy this truck, but most people are ignoring this product, and frankly until Ford has their battery factory going, they lose a lot of money on each one of these. The next generation where the battery is built into the frame rails will be so much better. The frunk is an amazing feature; it means you have hidden storage like a sedan. I think for large trucks a diesel electric hybrid (like the Edison Motors truck) would be a much better solution, esp. for towing.

Elon deserves a savage roasting for his overoptimism. But all computer programmers are optimists, because they think, i have found all the problems.. ha ha. Anyway the D3 are very lucky he has been distracted, because they generate 75% of their profits from their mid and large trucks, and Tesla can undercut them significantly. All of the D3 have gotten incredibly lax about keeping their prices based on costs. They have milked the truck market because there are 3 major vendors (Toyota not being a major factor yet). If the Cybertruck comes in anywhere under 60k, they will be devastated. It may not be possible for Cyber to hit 60k target, but if it does, heads will roll at D3, and the Union guys will begging for handouts.@@MCASQD

I’m reminded of the story of a gentleman who bought an F-150 Lightning that cost $115,000.00 . He decided to take the family from their home in Canada to Chicago . He found that these EV’s are nothing but a headache and a “scam” according to him. They needed to recharge the battery upon entering the US and it cost him $56.00 and took 2 hours to complete. Second time he needed to charge the truck the charging station wasn’t working properly and no one in customer service would help him. He drove to the next charging station and that station was vandalized and he ended up having the truck towed to a Ford dealer and renting a gas powered vehicle to get him to Chicago and picked up the truck on his way home. Will never understand why anyone would think is going to work.

Some many zonks on this truck: use an old body style, instead of using a dedicated EV platform, interior, battery range and charging technology, price, etc. I drove this truck for a week and I wasn’t impressed. I wish Ford would’ve have copied technology from Rivian and Tesla. Joe another great video and thanks for the relationship advice. My wife agrees with you 😂😂😂

@@josepgutierrez22 they spilt there company into two separate groups … one Ford blue ( Gas ) and Ford Model E ( electric ) … they invested a lot into going electric and with inflation so high one can’t really afford an EV they want and demand isn’t really there yet to begin with … they don’t expect to be profitable until 2026

Opinions, Do you think EVs are here to stay or just a phase? Personally, I do think it's the future, but it's ahead of its time at the moment. Especially when it comes to public charging stations. Tesla barely can keep up, so how are other companies going to do it?

I think the Silverado will be better. Better range, interior quality and features.

The thing is, the same people who would make fun of EV trucks for their looks would also make fun of their capability. At the end of the day, (in my opinion), the people who would be persuaded to buy an EV truck would be more concerned about practicality and capability than looks. I get Ford's approach to not make an ugly-looking EV, but I don't think that will work towards their advantage, especially since the towing capacity is worse than a base model F-150.
