Great review as always Raiti's Rides. My dream Acura would be a 1994 Acura Legend L Coupe.

I own a base MDX 2011, powerful engine. Gas guzzler 13 mpg city and 20 highway. Live the handling in the rain, snow and the S-handling AWD is awesome in corners.

Just bought the 2019 mdx last week and i love it!! Worth every penny

Another great review Joe! I have always really liked Acuras. I owned a brand new 2003 Acura CL Type-S 6-Speed. First new car I ever bought. My parents own a 2019 Acura RDX A-Spec SH-AWD. Wonderful car!! The RDX has the latest and greatest features and infotainment and it will soon make its way into all the Acura products and will get rid of that Dual screen layout, which is really starting to look dated. You got to admit Honda/Acura really doing a wonderful job lately! Honda Accord Honda Civic Honda Civic Type R Honda Passport/Pilot Acura RDX Acura MDX And more!

Another great review! That one's a keeper. Lots more to it than meets the eye - sure it could have updated tech, but with smart phone integration and voice control, it works. Can't beat it in the lux/suv segment - it's the best selling vehicle in that class.

Agreed! That new RDX has a really sweet gauge cluster and infotainment setup.

Nice review, joe. I think these are some of the nicest on the road. I love the exhaust tips. Interior its pretty nice too. Not really feeling how that dash on the passenger side has that dramatic curve. Also, no wireless charging? Hopefully with the redesign they'll add that. Honda too, rather than having to worry about wires and plugging things in.

Dual screen is fine. Android Auto shows in the top. I like that I'm not cleaning smudges off the top screen by using the dial controller. Put the AC in auto mode. Set it and forget it. You cannot beat the bang for the buck with an Acura for a proven Japanese brand. Korean brands while have come on lately, they still have lots to prove.

Nice ride! I wish they had just one large info screen and put a rear camera view in the rear view mirror. Good job as usual Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸

I just got a 2020 Red with Black interior A Spec MDX. LOVE IT! I don't mind the 2 screens or the infotainment system. I hate the new dashes where they glued an I pad to it. Ruins the look and lines of the dash. Again, it's an amazing car all around...

My friend's young brother drives Acura MDX. Interior is gorgeous and comfortable for driving and passengers.

I like the quality of material they used on there set that should be also on Civic type R.

Hey what’s your thoughts on the new BMW X3 M competition?

Am 6ft 2 so every time you say you are 6ft tall you speaking to me. Had my 2019 MDX TECH SH-AWD for about 1 week now. Amazing auto. So far i prefer NORMAL, and the COMFORTABLE, SPORT setting in that order.

I was deciding which one to get but after seeing this one. it looks like a minivan than an SUV. i decided to go with the RDX.

2 zonks for me, no digital gauge cluster & no pano/sun roof. Other than that this is the perfect balance of price, luxury & sport. So many C/O's coming out with a sport badge but, failing at it horrendously. for example, Chevy is trying to sell the new Blazer RS @ $50k+. It has the HP you want & some niceties but, lacks in luxury. It boggles my mind how non luxury car companies have luxury car company prices.

You can drive it Normal Mode under Sport. And there is a Sport Mode with Sport. Can you drive it under Sport Mode with Sport without using the paddle? Or do u have to use them in order not to ruin the car? Please explain to me I will appreciated it. Thanks for the Class.

Love the MDX! But I'd buy the Lexus RX350 because it's much better in my opinion. Looks way better especially the F Sport and hybrid models, is sleeker, and can't beat Lexus reliability! But at the end of the day both are phenomenal vehicles.

I was going to buy an RX350 but honestly..... it did not impress me performance-wise. I have decided to wait and see if Acura does a Type S MDX for 2020 or a redesign of the dash & gauges. That floating rear pillar on the RX is not looking as good as it used to either.

Mdx is superior to rx 350 in my opinion. It has more room, power, bigger rear cargo just to name a few advantages.

How would you compare this A-Spec vs the 2019-2020 Mazda CX-9

If Acura redesigns the MDX to be similar to the RDX (interior-wise) and adds the Type-S..... I would buy it in a heart-beat. It would kind of bridge the gap between Lexus/Acura and the ultra luxury brands like Audi, BMW & Audi... at least speaking from a performance standpoint. Oh and for god sake Acura.... give us a bloody panoramic roof on the next MDX! Aaaand turf the Alcantara inserts on the seats.

Prepare to buy the MDX in a heartbeat, literally everything you listed are included in the new MDX and the interior is absolutely gorgeous, way better than the RDX and the RDX has a nice interior.

In the third row they probably use hard plastics near the cup holder in case a kid spills a drink. Maybe even an adult also..lol

Great looking SUV, but for just under 60k...my 2009 TL has the same power and engine size... I do hope Acura starts to compete with higher performance cars and SUV’s because they have SO much potential when it comes to essentially everything. Still an amazing looking vehicle

Active suspension only comes in all 2017+ Hybrid models or 2019+ Advance models.

It amazes me how Acura still only has 2 crossovers in their lineup, when every other car manufacturer is adding all these new crossovers/SUVs (since the segment is hot).

Baasil F. Their not going to add anymore cuv because the MDX and RDX makes up 2/3 of their sales so they just focus on those two vehicles but they claimed they try to strengthen their line up including sedans before adding any vehicles

Baasil F. Look at Infiniti majority of their vehicles lineup it SUV’s but Acura still out sell them. Before Acura start adding vehicles (SUV’s ) to their lineup they need to put out a new MDX and fix the TLX, RLX, and ILX ( even though ilx sales are up) because those cars are outdated and need to be put in the new Acura platform that underpins the RDX

Joe i think Acura Legend and Legend type 2 were superb vehicles for the time.. this MDX center dash looks like a 2015 Hyundai elantra.. For that price a Genesis G80 sport would be a way better buy

I want to see the TLX A spec and mercedes-Benz GLS 63 AMG

Man watching you accelerate late on every corner is killing me. If you accelerate a little earlier this car would be a lot more fun.

If you could get the rdx with the v6...now that would be a game changer. Its the only reasom Im lookin at the mdx.

I dont think the a spec have adaptive damping, at least not on 2020 specs. I'm still thinking of getting the used MDX vs the 2020 RDX(nice audio and infotainment)

It isn't shorting out, it's LED. LED lights pulsate and the pulsating is picked up on camera.

I rather get the Lexus RX350 than the Acura MDX. *Kinda off topic:* I wish all Acura models had the same interior as the Acura RDX.

The car doesn't feel slow though.

Dude this car has the oldest infotainment system in the segment. I know the car looks amazing outside but that interior is so outdated. When you sit inside a RdX, Tulliride or Palisade the way I did at NYC autoshow you can see why this MDX is not worth the money.

Look at Lexus and a couple of others. They do not all have the latest and greatest infotainment. They all have generations to go through. They can't just fully redo the infotainment before the next generation is out. It costs money and you'll piss off the current generation owner who just purchased last year's model. It does not mean the vehicle still doesn't have other great features like the MDX has. Driving dynamic may be more important than a ventilated seat.

They have feelings and emotions! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

HP is basically same as RDX and no HUD, bah!

I think brands like BMW, Acura and Lexus make loaded vehicles like this expecting people will lease them. Easy to forget how expensive the car is when you don't have to pay the entire MSRP.

Buy used. A vehicle loses value as soon as u drive it off the lot. Only Suckers lease. A 2 year low mileage is your best bang for your buck.

Not sure why they couldn’t. BMW our small turbos on the 335i and it was easily tunable to get an extra 100hp/100ft lb torque. With some bigger blades BMW’s have gone upwards of 500hp easily.

Lexus RX interior > MDX interior! MDX exterior is way much sexier than the Lexus RX.

I think it's funny that Acura had it right with the ZDX ,and they let Tesla basically steal the design and now I see mecedes Benz with the same design as well ,I love the mdx but it's not as fun to drive as the ZDX

The BMW X6 was first and the ZDX at the time couldn’t compare with it due to the weird grill. I saw a black one with a painted grill and it about broke my neck trying to see what it was. If only they designed the front better, it would have competed as a more affordable sport -hatchback crossover.

@@chrisrobles2012 I agree bmw was the first ,but those were ugly ,they looked like the hunchback of Notre Dame, but they have gotten better with time and the last ones , which are the 2013 ZDX they changed the grill and it looks good till this day

Lost interest in Acura when they refused to give the RL a V8.

I can totally understand where you are coming from!

The 17-20 MDX Sport Hybrid 321hp powertrain is even a sportier version of the 14-20 MDX with excellent mpgs of 24-27 always.

I used to be an Acura/Honda buyer for several decades. Both have dropped the ball and been incredibly slow to redesign their exteriors and interiors. It’s almost as if they don’t care. Ten years ago I would see Acura MDX and RDX’s on the road. Now, I don’t know anyone who owns or leases an Acura. This MDX looks very 2009ish and other than rims, I’m not seeing anything new. A-spec is a gimmick for badging purposes.

Steve Wise Of you don’t see one of the top selling SUVs on the market in the last 5 years, don’t be surprised. The 2009-2015 MDX are easily mistaken for 4 other types of SUVs. Also, I love Acura. Own an EL and a TSX.

They have a terribly unbalanced lineup, Raiti. Most of their sedans are noticeably outdated in some way; either powertrain, interior or tech. While their SUV's generally stay fresh and desirable. Honda really threw Acura under the bus with their Honda Plus and just general lack of resource allocation for R&D of their Acura sedans. I'm assuming the extremely underwhelming reception the NSX got despite being a legitimate supercar for under 200k$ killed a lot of the motivation Acura had for developing sedans and coupes. The death of the coupe/sedan and the rise of the SUV is on full display over at Acura. I can imagine how hard it is for their new salesmen to establish themselves when they have no choice but to do damage control all day and attempt to sell of outdated Acura sedans.

I have base 2018 Acura MDX and had the battery replaced twice don’t know exactly what caused. It drive ok but not that good in my opinion. I wouldn’t buy the A spec SH AWD cost 10k more MSRP with the same engine

Ha Duong , my wife has left the overhead lights on in the front, and after a better replacement it happened again, except this time it was the kids in the back with the overhead switch. If those are okay, I would think a relay such as the AC relay might be stuck on ( fuse box) and draining it slowly. I believe HONDA/Acura still uses the same tiny black relays that can be faulty.

I think this suv would be perfect for the soccer mom who want to trade her lease ending Honda Odyssey for a new sport looking luxury crossover!

It should have at least 320hp

I'd choose the Acura. Its bigger, more cargo area. Hell a Crv has a bigger cargo. Was looking at buying on a while back, not impressed!

No touch screen, no panoramic roof, you can't split the screen in two or three like in modern cars. $55k??? Hell no.
