I’d love a legacy Sideways that’s a combination of the Bay design with the Armada aesthetic. Like a car with the door wings and the hood chest, but purple with yellow accents. Sort of like how legacy bulkhead is part G1 part Prime part Animated.

I'd much rather have just a unicron trilogy sideways I'm not a fan of the movie look and even if I was trying to mash a movie aesthetic with a armada one would probably just end up clashing and with no one happy but I guess different strokes

That's a great idea!

The fact that everybot in the franchise that named sideways is literally the same character,make it even funnier and amazing, and honestly,I quite liked the design of rotf sideways, especially the similair robot mod to barricade,and how the wheels becomes his hands,rotf sideways is probably the biggest wasted potantinel character alongside dotm shockwave-prime breakdown etc...

It breaks my heart that Mercedes Soundwave couldn't get this kind of engineering effort to recapture his 2011 film essence, didn't even get his sonic guns. I loved that design just as much as Sideways back then.

The DS version was disappointing. It was way too linear. The first game was literally open world!!

I personally love this Sideways figure because it reminds me of an old ROTF figure, that strange middle ground between being accurate and "not accurate"

It actually looks a lot like a hybrid between the PS2 Revenge of The Fallen Game and the movie design, especially those door wings.

I'm pretty fine with the alt mode, even though sometimes, getting to it is a bit of pain. What softens it is the fact that this figure has almost no backpack/kibble. Only the rear of the car. It's squished so perfectly together which makes me wish every transformer deluxe was like that, but I, at the same time, understand why it's not possible

I'm very happy that sideways finally has a good toy the original rotf toy line was ok but it really wasn't that good as soon when studio series released sideways from the game design I was excited that were gonna get a decent sideways toy

I mean this figure isn't really the first ss figure we've gotten that has referenced the games when Dino had the same alt mode as the his appearance in the DOTM videogame. Besides that, great video overall and keep up the great work.

Funny how I just got Sideways today and you dropped a video about him. Great review as always, and I do hope we can get Bayverse videogame characters in the future. (DOTM Warpath?)

Every time a new character is released I get excited…and then I remember how long it takes for these Bay characters to come out, and how long this line has been around, and I start to fear we may not get the two dozen or so characters that this line has yet to touch.

one way to really stand him up the best is to have his feet be as up as possible to bump into the leg itself and bend the knees a bit to make it more proportional, it makes him a bit shorter tho

I would kill for a remold of ROTF Breakaway. I remember saving up and buying him at the store, then seeing his gameplay trailer for the tie in game on KZread. Hey remember when deluxes were $10?

You've just hyped me up for more studio series stuff outside of the movies with the game concept. Really wanna see the movie comic characters get some shine

This figure made me want to go back and play the ROTF game on PC again, as I need some good reference for when I customise the figure. The game isn't the best, but can be fun. Just like this figure! I agree, the car mode is off, the back shouldn't just abruptly end, it should be more like the original figure. I do hope we get some game figures, that would be the next stage of the Studio Series' evolution!

Just got mine yesterday, it turns out perfect without any loose join.

When I first saw this figure, I fell in love with it. I’ve wanted a studio series figure of this guy so bad, and it’s finally here. Also regarding the door wings, I think it’s actually accurate to the movie. If you pause when he runs through the building and right before he transforms back into car mode, his door wings seem to be in the same spot on the toy. I know the games and concept art show the other design with them being more in the middle, but I do think this is more accurate to the movie

@@gojirasaurusrex3451 he’s a pretty good figure. Biggest complaint is his feet. They are on ball joints and they are pretty loose. Standing him up on his own is an annoying. Other than that he’s pretty fun

Sideways is the most appropriate character for a "Legacy" toy, with all his iterations being the same dimension hopper. I know his motorcycle mode is the most iconic, but I'd like his hypotetical Legacy toy to be a retool of Cogman (Headmaster two seater), and have Crosswise and Rook as Titan Master figures, in addition to a retooled Enigma of Combination as his standard head. His car would have the armada colors (maybe with some extra black to homage RID) but be as legally close as possible to an Audi R8 (for the 5th time). Either his forearm cannons or saw weapons would be fine as accessories

Does anyone else wish Hasbro could take their current engineering and like, REDUX the first few figures from Studio Series (Ratchet, Clunker/Beetle Bumblebee, Helicopter Shatter and Car Dropkick)?

I would absolutely love a new WfC/FoC Prime if those leeks are true. That was my dream as a kid; my holy grail, but I could never get the WfC version and the FoC figure was nothing but loose ball joints and I didn't like it.

Funny that this mold is kinda like a retool of barricade, but it still works pretty well

I hope we see more game designs in studio series. Some of the drones in the 2007 movie tie in have really cool looks that I would love to see done

I played the PS2/Wii RotF game when I was a kid and he was so cool. The game made him one of my favorites.

6:30 I shaved the smallest amount out of the ball socket inside edges in the feet with an exacto knife and then added clear coat to the sockets and now he's much more stable and has a slight ankle tilt that goes a long way

I just tightened all his joints with glue. In fact, I really appreciate how easy it is to get to all his joints for fixes

If you ar careful you can get the doors to fold behind the back panel, and it actually looks pretty clean. Bit of a hump but it does give him a nice bit of mass

Totally agree about Car mode, front looks like an R8, rear not at all so it looks weird. But if that car was real and say something like an "Audi R5" or whatever Hatchback concept, that would be really cool! But I can't call it an R8 at all, the old one which I have that mold too, it looks way more like one, just wish Audi wasn't so stingy about their cars.

The feet of the ROTF Sideways mold are tiny but you're supposed to have the legs from the hip downward folded back more for a more chicken leg style rather straight normal legs as seen with your figure with the side panels above the ankles folded to face the inside of the legs and the wheels themselves to be used as the heels

I actually wish he'd come with his sniper rifle from the rotf game instead. Not only cause it's my favorite transformers game (besides FOC), but also because it's just cooler looking. I do like the figure, but I agree with you about the door wings being too far apart. It's the same for Dino and all the bumblebees in SS.

This is the reason why Sideways was there for a short time. Trans Theories, a transformers theorist, said that he was there for product, saying that Scavenger was gonna live or something, then the company of sideways vehicle said no, so they change it, THEN they said they want him back in, so they made a short clip of him escaping, since that was the last animation they made for him.

I'm glad I waited for reviews before getting this. I love Sideways' design and this almost looked like it could be a winner, but after seeing that transformation, I'm staying completely clear of it because the clear plastic will not survive more than a month under that kind of stress. That and the amount of ball joints is disappointing.

The clear plastic is actually quite thick. Like even the hinges are super huge in comparison to what we used to get that i don't really worry about it breaking

I hate how car licensing works, ferrari did this with mirage as well, Studio series is supposed to be affordable while being as screen accurate as possible, i like the robot mode though

omg thats a nice toy and sheesh it compacts at the underside of the car mode i love when transformers are almost kibble free on the underside of their vehicle modes and when its also nice and compact and not just a hollow mess also how dare you not put the toy sideways at least once

Studio series now has gamer edition, which is based on war for cybertron and fall of cybertron.

His vehicle mode almost looks like a Ford Focus-- ALMOST. As for the rear wheels, adjust his finger-joints. Chances are that there's friction.
