ensconced commissioners sold out to BIGcorporate developers ....clear cutting .. overcrowded roads .. passing costs onto resident property owners instead of developers ..even the chamber of commerce promotes national based business instead of local ones .. .. Ur channel keeps it real Thomas Rehberg .. discuss these issues w the new St. john’s Commissioner candidates opposing the ensconced sellouts.. btw too much sky spraying has changed our weather ..

There are definitely some issues here. Problem is if I can only get 1 out of 3 of the candidates then I'll be on the hook for favoring a certain agenda. I'll think about it. But that might be a little too deep for the purpose of this channel specifically. I've been toying around with the idea of doing a separate channel for something similar. I haven't come tk a conclusion yet

There was a post about this on the nextdoor app recently. A lot of essential workers are having to live over an hour away. My mother in law was in the hospital last year and many of the nurses told us they lived in Fernidad Beach and other far away places. :(

It's becoming more and more of a reality. We are growing rapidly. Though I would say in most major metros, tons of people commute 45mins for work.

@@LIVINGINSTAUGUSTINE I was commuting over an hour to Jax and got burnt out really fast and tore up my car. I was still chasing pennies to afford living and staying in SA. Now, I was forced to travel out of state and leave my family behind to save enough to pay ahead utilities, and other expenses. The local pay in any industry is like 1990 wages in Florida in general. It is sad that only the rich and those from expensive states can afford it.

All the place people are moving to will soon be overcrowded and expensive as well. I left Arizona because everybody from California priced me out. Moved to Texas, same thing. Now I moved to SA, and same. My point. We have too many people moving to lower cost of living no matter what.

Yes I also think cool places to live are few and far between. Many places like Cali and the northeast have had higher prices for a while now. Factor that in with population growth and low housing starts and we got problems here in St Augustine

pre-pandemic, post-pandemic prices are not all that different in most areas. there are some select areas that really exploded during the pandemic and continued on until this year. Inland Empire in California for example. I have not seen comparable price increases however anywhere in Floriduh. In fact scanning current listings and home histories I can see that clearly prices in St Augustine are crashing right now. Game over.
