I think the problem with Neo Splash isn't the fact that it's basically T-Tek, (t-tek is probably still better since it has more range, paint output and more favorable bomb in most situations) It's the fact that this kit COULD have been something else more interesting. Zipcaster, Inkjet, or even something like Super Chump or Cooler would have made Neo play differently from VSplash instead of being a different kind of special spam

FINALLY SOMEONE SEE THE REAL PROBLEM!! Literally when I first saw people saying splatoon 3 is doomed because of this splash I though it was another crazy overpowered splash, but it’s just because of the fact zip caster wasn’t put on this thing, which does make me sad, but I feel like most people over dramatized this issue 💀💀💀

mark my words, either splash gets eviscerated in Fresh Season’s patch, or we enter a quad splash meta.

I mean zipcaster was right there in the trailer and it actually had synergies with splash having no jump rng. Not to mention it would be first shooter with zipcaster. Who on the dev team loves Splash more than both of the new weapon classes in this game?

This news update really took the wind out of the sails of fresh season for a lot of folk. I hope they’re planning to at least make both splash kit have 220+ for the specials. This is getting ridiculous, it’s not even just shooter bias anymore it’s straight up splash domination.

it's either that or tone back crab and strike in some significant way, and other specials like reefslider, inkjet, ultra stamp, and inkvac all need some buffs to enable more counter play. Reef really needs one bad or it will be completely disembodied by kraken for example

@@connormcnulty6377honestly there’s a decent chance that it will be gutted, there’s no way that Nintendo is unaware of all the splash controversy, unless they live under a rock

My only question is, did Nintendo make this kit leading up to fresh season, or before the game launched. If it was the second option, a lot of things are prepared and set long before any game releases nowadays, so there is a possibility they made the kit and didn’t know how powerful the first kit would be. However, if its the first option, they have no excuse.

Manta did get changes! There is a new ink rail at the right side of base and they have widened the area behind the corridor out of mid (if that makes sense)

Callouts be like: -Splash on our spawn! -WHICH ONE???

Maaan splash would've been fun with zipcaster too. Also I 100% expected manta to stay the same that seems to be the trend with S2 maps in this game. At this point I'm only looking forward to big run and Kracken 😭

Others in comments and creators pointed out the area directly in the middle of the screen here 0:58 is more wider and larger so it’s not as cramped. It’s kinda noticeable

The overall problem we are having is the lackluster map design which then CREATES these damn kit/special problems in the first place. Outside of massively fixing the points needed for some specials ~cough BOOYAH BOMB INKSTRIKE cough~ and some other kits, I think another good solution would be to switch specials on some certain weapons. A weapon should have a few versions of itself being Attack, Defend, and Support. Splash both having two good assault specials is annoying(though i barely see anyone using Splash Crab, I see everyone using Booyah Bomb and Inkstrike bombardments constantly in every mode), and it being a good weapon doesn't help. I would have much preferred more Brellas, and maybe a new Splatana and Bow. I do hope Fresh Season fixes more than causes problems.

People aren't going to use neo splash a lot because its literally just worse tentatek. If splash gets nerfed, which it probably will, the neo will be even more irrelevant. Neo splash would have been fun with zipcaster. I honestly don't get why it even has inkstrike in the first place it literally had zipcaster in the trailer.

Let’s hope that tomorrow is better, today was awful like bruh Splash Neo- Spider-man on Splash was too much to ask wasn’t it? I really hope that this isn’t going to be as awful but…I have a funny feeling that in casual play I’m going to be seeing so many Splashes- once the yk new weapons have been tried out n stuff and the hype for them is over but I am not excited to see a special farming Triple Inkstrike weapon- Honestly in my eyes either Splash needs to be SEVERELY nerfed or we need to nerf Triple Inkstrike to be sorta like Tenta Missles

Originally I was scared for the collab charger, but I should probably be scared of the weapon with no counter that counters all. Nintendo why.

CJet is ok, I like rain in it but wish it had burst bomb. Must is fine though Neo splash is so disappointing, zip mist would've been awesome I have no issues with Manta, seems like the S2 maps get very few changes when brought over. I do wish Ruins was less linear though While the extra shop slots, jukebox, and Inkopokis are cool, it looks like the balance changes are going to be what really makes or breaks this patch...

I agree that we should get this to Nintendos attention and get it fixed but for now, I can safely say that these kind of issues with the game (which are the only issues usually) are DEFINITELY not gonna kill off splatoon 3 or make it worse then Splatoon 1 or 2. Ruins the meta. Competitive teams will now be all splash-o-matics, _maybe_ with a z+f charger or tentatek splattershot. Even if you aren't a competitive player (I'm not competitive) it makes tournaments a lot less fun to watch, and plus, this bias will still make its way to public matches.

I hope that sometime in the future, we will look back to this season and say that these horrible times with the worst meta ever are over and replaced by something more interesting.

How is the new splash o matic kit terrible? It is amazing and will be heavily strong. I can not wait to play against three splash and a washing machine in this new fresh season. I do love the chaotic environment.

As a casual, I feel like people are kinda over dramatizing these kind of issues with the game when in reality, even if Nintendo does nothing about this (I doubt they’ll not put a patch out for this) Splatoon 3 will still be the best shooter and the best splatoon game overall tbh. Edit: Although I’m not saying we should ignore these issues entirely and NOT get it to Nintendos attention, we shouldn’t think that it will ruin the game or make it worse than the other Splatoon games
