Even though i know shes not the best overall , on my account she is objectively the strongest carry.

technically, Eula is the best physical damage character in the game. And the question never stated best character in what regard. no-infusion normal attack damage goes to her as well, as most other characters aren't built for physical damage most of the time. I mean I've seen physical machine gun Fischl before who crit for 40-46k/normal attack, and straight up deleted bosses, it was insane, but it was also a very niche build. Other characters good wit hphysical damage would probably be Rosaria and Razor, with a big big maybe on Xinyan. They can work, they can theoretically 36 star the abyss, but it's a way hadrer challenge than doing it with a reaction damage based team. Let me also quote from a comment I wrote, where I tried to collect the different roles which shouldn't be considered in the same sentence when deciding best character: "Best on field dps? for single target or groups? or maybe not on-field, but off field dps? maybe against a specific type of opponent? maybe best support? If support, is it for damage increase, CC, or survivability? If the latter, should it be able to heal, or is interruption resistance what you'd be more after?" The "against a specific type of opponent" includes elemental advantages/immunities, so choosing a physical character would also mean, that nothing is immune to it. They might have a high resistance, but no immunity. One of the reasons why I really like the black tassel on my Zhongli, wit hmy Ganyu as my usual main. Cryo slimes are a pain to deal with, but with an R5 Black Tassle, Zhongli can delete them no problem.

If you really wanna cope with "nothing is immune to physical therephore eula on top" pretty sure that a geo character would be more effective if you wanted to solo the game however that makes no sense anyway cuz that's not how the game is played. Eula is hardly the best at anything other than design. Pretty sure people said that because she does the biggest single instance of damage and bigger number = better character for some players.

@@DC-no3vi As I said, the question in itself, was inherently flawed. As it didn't specify in what regard, or for what purpose a character was considered the best. on-field damage? healing? overall surviveability? movement speed? buffing capability? off-field damage? nothing was specified, hence ANY character would have worked as the answer. For physical damage done, Eula is without a question, the best in the game. Once the question is phrased correctly, in a way that specifies what they actually want to know, it'll be answerable objectively. Until than, it's basically a question of personal preference, as the question can be interpreted in any of the ways I mentioned above. If I was asked, I'd have said Diona, as Diona fulfills 4 possible roles that can be in a party. Healer, shielder, buffer, battery. I know of no other character that fulfills more than 3. Maybe Xianyun, if we include "enabler" as a role for the pogostick playstyle, alongside healer, battery, and her "extreme traversal capabilities" that come from her skill. Even if that last one doesn't help in combat whatsoever. Maybe to dodge out of AOE attacks from some bosses, but that's about it.

I think he is underrated but not the best, he is better than yelan in teams that dont need the Dmg% such as hyperbloom but otherwise she provides good enough hydro app and his dmg reduction is usless if you can dodge and since you can always reset the abyss you can clear until you dont get hit, his only upside is the short animation and alot of energy on E+fav

please do 😭 Apart from all the defensive utility and hydro application, I find that people tend to really undervalue his damage. I feel like a reason why people underrate him is because his damage comes in varying multiples and it's hard to build a very reliable crit rate on him, so it's mentally hard to see exactly how much damage he's doing as compared to like a Hu Tao charged attack. Considering his damage is basically free, it's an absurd amount.

Very neat dataset and presentation! Incredible that Diluc and Eula won votes out over XQ and XL, lmao It might go without saying, but playing on mobile also makes the abyss harder to clear. I play half the time on my phone and half on PC with controller, and even in the same abyss, a floor that I could only barely clear on mobile might be an easy clear with a minute to spare on PC. Knowledge of a chamber's enemies and how to group or manipulate their AI also helps a ton

I feel your pain especially since i became a full time mobile only player for almost an year now after getting my laptop stolen. Keeping on the topic of data analysis like the video, I found myself turning from a classic ST mainly player using characters like hu tao, to now maining more AOE ones like althaium, nevuillete, nahida..etc who prior I didnt vibe with their playstyle before as sitting in one place in the chamber wasnt for me (I liked predicting the AI movement while chasing them as it felt like a hunter chasing a prey). Sadly with mobile mutlitasking camera/attacking/movement is almost impossible so that type of gameplay went from my fav to almost top annoying

this is so real, sometimes i barely had enough time to spare in the abyss cuz my phone is kinda slow 🥲, thats why i hate serpent, wenut, and enemies with a thick elemental shield, they just wasting so much time.

While clearing abyss efficiently is a knowledge check, clearing it in general isn't that hard especially if you just get the new meta characters that the abyss is usually tailor-made for. I think the overlap between knowledge and abyss clearing is more because the type of player to clear the abyss is also the type to watch and read Genshin content.

Oh you're totally right! I clear abyss every time now! I clear it so good with all my new meta characters! Shame about how Level 12 just gives zero stars tho, amirite? (Forreal, doesn't matter how much content I consume and how much I try to learn... adhd will always win and I will get distracted halfway through a build)

​@@rickcooper4809 but then why would they make such a robust and nuanced combat system? if their intention wasn't to reel in heavy combat lovers in games they wouldn't have made it so deep. it's a shame because it's a truly great combat system, held back by a lot of things.. things like lack of content to indulge in said combat system, artifact rng leaving your character ineffective for maybe months on end, etc.

@@plvto1 It might be because satisfying the tryhard community is relatively difficult, and maintaining a balance between combat content, rewards, and casual players is also very challenging. They may feel it's not worth investing so much effort to cater to the combat enthusiasts. (After all, after they made that statement, the 3.4 hutao-yelan banner has become their best-selling banner.) Additionally, having a deep combat system doesn't necessarily correlate with whether they create corresponding endgame content. In summary, the presence of combat enthusiasts isn't substantial enough to have a decisive impact on revenue.

Just find out what snapshotting and elemental gauge are, also meaning that it’s just clicked why childe International is probably one of the best teams in the game even after so long.

I really think Navia is the only Geo character that is able to keep up with the current all DPS Meta. She's really good at bringing out the talents of the off-field units and uses it to her advantage while providing some defensive support. I don't think they have released a single 5 star support unit that is a game changer, except for Furina with her dual kit. (Xianyun doesn't support the existing Meta but opens up this whole new playstyle that people wanted for a long time so she doesn't count.)

@@RKNancy You could argue Venti was quite literally a game changer in that they had to design enemies and Abyss around him to prevent the content from being trivialized. Zhongli worried them enough to introduce rift wolves and corrosion when Kokomi failed to sell. Agreed that Furina would get my vote as an outlier in how strong and useful her kit is.

@@shadowpriest2574 It's very easy to disagree with that. If you're given a choice between Neuv and Furina, Furina benefits your account more. She'll turn half your account into Neuv+ level characters. Heck, Neuv's best teams rely on her as well. And beyond that, if you're given a choice to C6 one of those two, Furina is the obvious answer. Neuv is a tank mage, sure, and for that reason, I can see why people would vote for him. Arl being second, though, that's just silly.

Also, she needs a healer on team and many , I would assume would rather not use one or at the very least find it bothersome to use one. "Heck, Neuv's best teams rely on her as well." And? What is up with Genshin players these days? Best team? Best team is fine, but power only matters at one point, and that is at the beginning or at that lvl of character investment. Simply put , if a team needs more than 1 five star Premium character to be something , its not relevant because at that point....what is the point? You would not take me seriously if I said that Ganyu > Furina and Neuv because she is C6R5(she is not, but lets pretend she is) while they are not, would you now? I imagine that has to do with the fact that you understand that cons and 5* weapons trivialize things and as such must not be taken into consideration. My threshold for "it trivializes things" Is exactly 2 five star items instead of just 1(weapon/character). Furina is a 5* support and as such I don't consider her that valueable since she opens up no new composition while Neuv does so by just existing. "And beyond that, if you're given a choice to C6 one of those two, Furina is the obvious answer." Neh! I would rather Water Pump all of teyvat to death. "Arl being second, though, that's just silly." I disagree. Arle is just so nice to play as, while Furina's gameplay has the same problem as XQ, XL and all the other off-fielders.....that there is none. Also, she is rly strong and the Golden Standard of measurement is clearing the Abyss with 4* units and she passes. Tho she lacks on the department where she uses units that nobody else does.

This video series always makes me happy. The data collection is great, and everything is explained in good detail. Plus, it always pisses off Reddit. For some reason, they're convinced only 5% of players even try spiral abyss.

I'm friends with some players who are pretty much the definition of casual players. They barely even know what a character does and one of them refuses to put VV on Venti because it's not pretty. They don't even know the difference between a dps character and a support character (which I tried to explain). I think hardcore meta gamers forget this but many many people out there play exactly like my friends. And to be honest I only managed to start clearing Abyss because I began watching guides and learning about all of these things since the game doesn't explain it to you. Many may say that Abyss is easy but for those who don't want to do extra research into the game outside of what the game itself gives them, Abyss floor 12 is simply impossible.

I help my friend to clear 12th. Sometimes it's pain in the ass, cuz it requires to do at least 2 runs with different teams. Like in the current abyss. The first half were neuv, miko, nahida and Zhongli. Triple kenky and 12-3 are ok, but they struggle with coppelius. The second half was just a standard rational. But I needed to put some pyro vs coppelius, so I had to play it again with reverse. The worst part of this all is building of chars, they have about 160-180 cv, I had to rebuild xiangling from full crimson to emblem+crimson, cuz she hasn't enough critrate, hasn't enough er, etc. I don't use her kazuha, cuz he hasn't triple em artifacts, she said she don't want to go for vv anymore. And I always have to put fav on raiden, cuz she's not able to get her burst at 220% with skyward lance. I tried to convince her to use strongboxing instead of feeding useless 5* pieces to another 5*. It worked sometimes, but she still thinks it is a waste of artifacts and experience source for lvling up. And she doesn't have a plan of farming some domains, she tries to build 10 of her dps heroes at once. If I try to give her advice that her miko will be better with that goblet instead of another. It doesn't require to steal it from some hero. But she still says "ok I see and now put it like it was before". I guess she doesn't need 36 so hard, cuz she got disappointed when she built her ayaka to 200 cv. She tried her raw damage thinking it's not enough. But she didn't want to change her team of ayaka, kokomi, rosaria and neuv (semi carry team probably). I told her if she wants more than 12k from her burst, she has to give her all atk buffs, give her well built kazuha, give her rosaria fav instead of xiao weapon. She didn't liked that ttds is a 3* ugly weapon so it doesn't deserve to be put on kokomi as like as putting millelith on her instead of ocean hued. And I don't even mention that her rosaria doesn't have any royal set pieces. She said long ago that she hates weapon and artifacts swapping and tries to make chars that way so they don't have to count on supports. Well, it's easier not to bother to her with my theory crafting.

It's not really surprising to me at all that XL and XQ got so few votes. The casual audience is most likely to be wowed by on-field DPSes that are easy to play and do big numbers (which explains the large number of votes for Neuv and Arlecchino). So it's only the smaller hardcore audience that is more likely to vote for off-fielders/supports. But the thing is, even among the more hardcore audience, it makes sense that they wouldn't vote for XL or XQ as THE best unit in the game because, frankly, they aren't. I bet if you were to ask "Are XQ/XL top tier units," you'd get an answer of "yes" from 90+% of the people who 36 star abyss. Just because people aren't rating them as THE best unit doesn't mean people are underrating them. In fact, I'd say they're properly rating them as "good but not the best." They're both excellent units and among the best in the game. But it's just hard to argue that they're THE best vs characters like Bennett or Nahida. Like if you replace XQ with Yelan or Furina, many teams perform basically the same or even better (at the expense of some defensive utility). But try replacing Nahida on a dendro core team. Or replacing Bennett on the teams of most attack scaling DPSes. The difference is EXTREMELY noticeable. There simply aren't good alternatives to them.

Though I'd argue that XL is actually the best character in the game. Yes, bennet is a universal buff applier and healer but he can be slotted out for other buffers. XL is literally the only Non-ICD pyro applier, her burst can be snapshotted and, well her damage in any team is just insane. But I think you can argue for both bennett and XL, it's a matter of perspective.

This is such an interesting experiment. I kinda want to adapt this to HSR(I think the game keeping the chat log in a more convenient way helps,but let's see)

Just want to nitpick a bit here: EM doesnt "actually" increase your reaction damage. Rather, it increases your reaction potency, to be exact. For multiplicative/amplyfying reactions, EM increases the multiplier that amplifies the damage that triggers the reaction.

I’ve never subbed to someone after seeing one video from them. But you sir have made an amazing video and earned my subscription. Please make more of these, as it was extremely interesting to hear all of the data collected.

It's wild seeing Neuvillette got almost double Furina's vote, and even Arlecchino has that many. People clearly are underestimating the value of supports compared to DPS. Also funny how Raiden, Eula and Diluc got that many votes in a question that asks you to put your bias aside lmao

Eula and Diluc I get, but Raiden makes sense with her versatility as a character, being able to run as a hyperbloom character, sub dps for characters with downtime, energy restoration for energy hungry people, elemental burst dmg increase, probably more, while Eula and Diluc is literally just damage and nothing else

"and get lucky with artifacts" Yeah, small detail right there. Not everyone has 100% Cr and 300% Cdmg on every character.

A thing I like to keep in mind for surveys is bias. For this, he went to co op in game. This means that the unintentional bias (not counting things like ar55+) are people who let people into their world in co op, which are generally nicer players as 90% of the time it’s people trying to take things form their world. There is also a bias towards whatever server raymouse plays on. I don’t know much about the in game culture differences between servers, but I’m sure the answers would be different if done in a different server. There is also biased towards people who type in a language Raymouse understands,(which I will assume only English, but good for him if he’s bilingual) as he probably didn’t get many Spanish, Russian, or Chinese responses due to language barriers. This could be bypassed with google translate. This is notable since KQM or Akasha (to my knowledge) is only in English, so if someone wanted to learn the combos for childe, they have less resources available. There is, of course, the bias towards people who play the game during when he was conducting the survey. If he did it at 2 am, he is more likely to get people from the other side of the world who for some reason play on a server on the other side of the world. He also might get more teenagers who stay up too long playing genshin. But if he did this at 12:30 pm on a Thursday, he’s more likely to get adults on their day off compared to the kids/teens at school. But if this was in summer, there could be a bias towards kids/teens on summer break while the adults are working 9-5. This only would matter if there is a difference in knowledge between kids and adults. Kids/teens can learn and adapt much faster than adults, but adults don’t have to memorize things for school and have more brain capacity to retain information. Not knocking on this experiment, and I learned a lot about how knowledgeable the average player is.

Great video! I think the more important part to clearing is the actual execution of those mechanics instead of how they work though. You don’t really need to know how snapshot or ICD or EM works, you just need to know to give Xiangling some EM, make sure she bursts within Bennett’s circle, and ideally pair her with a Hydro character. But mechanical skills like proper rotations, enemy AI manipulation for grouping, knowledge of enemy shields and abilities, and tech like XL double hits will get you way further

Such great content. You fill an interesting content nieche for me. Alas, I'm what you'd call a try-hard ^^ Through you, I'm finding out about those from "down below" heh~ On a serious note, from inside my bubble, my first instinctual and emotional reaction would be to guess that the terms from the video are widely known. Experience teaches me however, the average is far lower than this first instinct suggests. People are very bad at guesswork.

I only know of Crit Value and just recently learned the other terms but I’ve been 12 starring abyss for 3 years now lol. I think just having a good general knowledge of characters and artifacts and knowing how characters interact with one another is more than enough to 12 star spiral abyss imo. Good video man.

Oh yeah I hate that guy due to all the elemental checks you need... Just a tip; the electro phase is weak to pyro, cryo, and dendro, so you have very slight flexibility there. Also, some weapons (like sacrificial sword) do not proc their effects on shields, so if you need the energy try to squeeze these things in while it's switching shields.

I recommend using a double dendro quickbloom team to clear the second side two sources of dendro application destroy the electro heralds quick and quickbloom meets the element check on baptist I used tighnari furina nahida kuki

I had an idea of some attacks applying 2U as opposed to 1U but didn't recognize that as "Elemental Gauge Theory". Maybe some people knew what it was but didn't know it under that name. Regardless, I think the point still stands and the results were really interesting. Thanks for doing this survey and I hope to see more content like this in the future!

Yes Spiral Abyss is absolutely a knowledge check. But not just with knowing the games deep mechanics like these questions ask about. But also like, knowing how to best utilize your characters in a team, knowing how to build good teams with a limited roaster, knowing how each of the enemies will attack you and move around, knowing which enemies should be killed first, knowing when to dodge instead of just spamming attacks all the time (that’s more of a skill thing though), knowing when to step back and heal instead of just dying, and yes knowing how to build characters correctly, which includes knowing when it’s more worth it to focus on a different character even when your main isn’t perfect yet and knowing that crit isn’t the end all be all of stats.

Xiao mains stronk 😊 A very interesting survey. Another question could be, how many characters on your account do you use (even ocasionally) in abyss 12. I wonder if anyone out there goes for variety and flexibility over universality.

When I first started to 36* without locking in needing to restart chambers over and over only to win with 2 seconds at most to spare, I started experimenting with a wide range of teams even almost 36*ing with noelle. But in about 2-3 months, the novelty wore off for me and now I think of abyss cycles like chores similar to dailies with only plunge tao one half and nevuillete/Arlecchino hypercarry other half depending on elemental resistances.

Personally I rotate between a few teams based mainly on enemy shields. Go to teams include: Tao, Yelan, XQ, Zhongli Alhaitham, Nahida, XQ, Kuki Raiden, Yelan, Furina, Jean Kokomi, Furina, Yelan, Kazuha More situational teams include: Nahida, Yelan, Thoma, Kuki (Rainbow team. Absolutely breaks all types of shields, but has lower dps relative to full hyperbloom) Raiden, XL, Bennett, Chev (If enemies are fairly close, a fun team) Ganyu, Nahida/XL, Bennett, Zhongli (good for flying enemies) Ayaka, Furina, Charlotte, Kazuha (freeze team when possible) Super niche Ganyu, Yanfei, Diona, Venti (Ganyu for burst, Yanfei main dps when enemies in Venti's vortex. Only works for semi spread pullable enemies) To date there hasn't been an Abyss Cycle where the teams above (given substitutions) couldn't full clear.

Everyone can be strong with Furina, and everyone can fly now xd I wonder if people naming Diluc as the best character has anything to do with Xianyun... hmmmm....

@jjthan8772 that's quite a lot! Yeah, having options really helps. I also like variations within existing team archetypes. Like, this Abyss 12, Childe international works really well, but replacing anemo helps on both sides. Zhongli first half for no interruption from big enemies. Rosaria second half to help destroy electro shields makes the fight so comfy. Rainbow teams are fun! Mine is Alhaitham, Furina, Kuki, Thoma. Or Klee, Yelan, Baizhu and Yae on lower floors, just to see my fav child terrorist in action. Do you not use Fischl? I'm always intrigued when people don't use what are cosidered really good supports. Like, I don't use XQ or Kazuha or Nahida or Raiden. Having preferences is a bit of a challenge in and of itself. It's actually fun to try and make it work

this is like the perfect blend of nerdy stuff and silly humor that i love to see on youtube, especially at 6:36 lol

If you have Nahida + Hydro + electro, you beat the game.

This is definitely not true , first of all the electro should be kuki for this , second its decent in single target but in AoE hyperbloom isn't gonna carry you at all and its falls off late game

Same even I learned about it recently after my 1st 36*. And even then I only started using ICD in my team building when xianyun dropped after learning plunge has 0 ICD. Cant say its a huge game changer but I feel a bit of pride knowing for example arlecchino needs lower EM compared to hu tao because she has standard ICD and vaporize reactions make up less of the overall dmg of her rotation

I would love to see a wider version of this in the form of a google survey. Stuff like this is interesting to me Also to answer those questions from my perspective since this video interested me and was very entertaining. 1) Ganyu if I had to choose one. If it was open to three mains then in order Ganyu, Chiori, and Nilou. 2) 36 stars since version 2.4 after I pulled for Ganyu. I started playing in 1.4, but was not really into the game until 2.0 3 - 6) Yes, I know what all those are and I had them correct in my head to how you explained them to me. To add a bit more, I did not know what these truly were until around 2.7 when I started to actively look up videos and guides on building characters, so I could consistently 36 star the Abyss without restarting multiple, multiple times within an hour. 7) I knew what this was, but did not know the name was "elemental gauge theory". I thought it was just info that was related to learning how elemental reactions works 8) Assuming you are only talking about characters at C0 then if I had to pick one character out of everyone, Furina. If separated into categories then DPS is Neuvillette, general support is Furina, shielder is Zhongli and healer is Kokomi

This isn't really related to the video, but my absolute favorite team for this abyss second half is gaming nahida furina xianyun. I kinda made it up for baptist and lectors out of casual gaming vaporise team, but it suprised me how well it works. it's the most fun i ever had with a team, you just jump around and everything explodes. But I must admit it is 100% carried by nahida c2 and furina c1, without them id probably never clear abyss with full stars. Anyway, thanks for your video and for the work, really entertaining stuff. It was really fascinating to hear how many people are deep into all the theory stuff. poor xingqui tho

This video idea is honestly amazing. Usually people think of abyss as a whale/vertern check but I honestly thought it was mainly elemental reactions knowledge one like not using dendro team vs the green chicken boss. Honestly had low hope that most players especially full abyss clearers knowing stuff like ICD and snapshooting thinking it was only for meta chasing players. Im pleasantly suprised tobe proven wrong atleast for your sample size

this is interesting, very good idea for a video! i wonder how different the results would be simply by the suverying method. i'd think dedicated players like myself don't have the time or patience to let randoms into their world, reducing their representation. i'd bet a reddit survery would yield more % of dedicated players (though that's probably leaning far too much in the other direction). perhaps twitter would be a good middle ground? also i don't understand what a question like "whos your main" tells you in this type of survey, i'd prefer to see a question asking if ppl know their team's rotations, and if they're aware that ousia/pneuma has combat applications (like the coppelius fight).

I feel like another overlooked aspect of game knowledge has to do with understanding enemies and their weaknesses. I'm a somewhat recent player and I've yet to finish the archon story and properly explore Sumeru and Fontaine. This means I have not yet encountered many enemies I face in the abyss and it becomes harder to defeat them

For ppl who are clearing abyss, I feel knowledge like elemental weakness and resistance is what is universally known even for extremes of whales who can otherwise outdmg an unfavourable matchup. This maybe a huge meta players chasing bias, but in the few genshin communities I chat online in, when a new abyss cycle drops our 1st points of discussion are "elemental checks". Basically what elements are weaker/stronger for certain mobs/bosses and therefore who to run/not run. Sometimes this may go outside of elemental stuff like when we had to fight Wenut which is a boss that only has a short time window to hit as it stays hidden underground for most of the fight. That made characters that do the bulk of their dmg in one or a few hits like burst ones better than ones that have constant dmg even when the latter actually has more total dmg overall in normal fights. Sry for the yap, just wanted to show you how interesting and fun planning for matchups can be in the future for u

I watched a lot of TC video but now that I cleared it and I used a Geo team (bruh no reactions) I don't nerd out anymore. But I learned a lot and it was enjoyable.

I wonder if the 36* clears that didn't know the advanced concepts, were able to do so only because they whaled or vertically invested.

@raymouse haha, yeah, I figured. That's why I thought at least maybe phrasing it as "how many constellations do they have" *might * be okay. As a whale with 4, C6 limited 5* and multiple others ranging from C1-5, I personally don't mind an opportunity to flaunt them. XD

Understandable why hardly anyone knows of Snapshotting, it seems like a rather.. situational thing, though I have to admit to not knowing much about it.. As a Yae Miko main, I notice when my numbers change, and snapshotting, as well as ICD, are usually just not a part of the kind of combat knowledge I require during battles, thus I've never had the need to learn about them or really try to figure it all out. Crit Value is something I've heavily invested in time into because it drastically affects her ability to do damage outside of full EM builds, although generally I'm far less picky outside of building my main, as opposed to other characters I care less about.

​@TybossMaster true that, there are even rumors of most of the top tier skills/bursts mainly due to snapshotting like pyrornado and shougn's burst mode were unintentional bugs which became such an important part of the meta (especially early pre ver 3 days) that hoyo were afarid removing them with a patch would lead to huge outrage from the playerbase. One of the best recent examples for your point I think is how chiori's summons dont snapshot, making gorou's buff useless for her which otherwise would have been a massive synergy play especially with how they both work together in itto teams. This feels very intentional as otherwise old geo team users would have greatly appreciated that their previously build gorou's would have still been viable leading to higher appreciation for her addition

I love that I can now 36 stars with my Clorinde/Qiqi shitpost team. Now, I can never do shielded enemies smoothly. I don't know if its my ping or pure skill issue.

Clorinde is ping dependent, so if you have medium to high ping make sure you actually have enough bond of life when attacking!

@@raymouse I learned that fact via leaks which thank god for them as I tend to pull for characters right after the ver update drops so not knowing she would work horribly with my 250+ ping would have broke me. A bit sad about it as I dont have any other electro onfielder (shougn c0 so I only use her as a driver) but better save my primos for someone I can actually use

I never really knew Fischl is also snapshotted by Bennett burst, thought it was only Xiangling haha (I generally clear 36 stars)

If you are interested, there is a whole list on wiki of which abilities can/cannot snapshot as well as which buffs can/cannot be snapshotted (for the latter, generally the buffs of stats that are shown on characters' stats screen can be snapshotted, while the others can't; EM being one of the exceptions - it can be snapshotted for Vape/Melt, but not for any other reaction).

I really want to 36 star abyss.Its my goal with this game. I can’t even clear floor 12 chamber 1 but I try at least.I barely know what these terms are as I don’t interact much within the Genshin space.

It's super funny that a person with a Hu Tao avatar said Xingqiu was the best. Kind of a depressingly low amount of Nahida answers on the best meta character too, but Neuvilette is quite perception warping.

It's so old and not useful right now I don't think it matters. Quadratic scaling nowadays exists only in childe, who I would assume isn't as popular as he was, and you cou say nilou, who still has some caveats with it(like the enemy can take dmg only from 2 blooms from a specific character per 0.5 secs)

@@ferend4038 it matters when it matters, knowledge doesn't occupy space, it pops up when you most need it, and knowing little useful things is what can make that difference in a low AR account abyss run And the caveat also applies to anemo And he also forgot to ask about self apply/cleansing, I would really like to make a complete survey and ask at least two thousand people in game about their runs in abyss

That one person who cleared 36 stars without knowing what is cv must be a c6r5 kokomi main

36 star is mainly a dps check. Even knowing all the tips and tricks, without having a good built team it is simply impossible

I fully agree especially with how a well built enough team can brute force even unfavorable matchups like figthing a pyro resistance mob with cracked arlecchino hypercarry for example. But atleast for the 1st few complete star clears, I feel those minior tricks helps alot in bridging the gap between mediocre and amazing teams. This is how we have some F2P players 1st 36*ing at ~AR 52 while others only at +AR 58 (like my chronic skill issue suffering ass for example).

No, it's not. I've done several Floor 12 solo runs with Ningguang, getting 9 stars. And on the most recent abyss (with the 3 Maguu Kenki, and the Baptist boss at the end), I did a solo run with C0 Arlecchino on Homa, and on the other side C0 Neuvillette on the BP weapon and C2 Kazuha on Xiphos, also 9 stars. Full teams, even with mediocre artifacts, will have significantly more damage than what I used, plus more survivability, so they can play more aggressively.

@@Miphera can I know what weapon, cons and artifacts you used? and what enemies you had for Ningguang? Oh, and how many tries did you have to get there? Was it easy enough, or rather a challenge? My point is that if you don't have good stats no matter how you get them - either by team buffs + 4* weapons + extremely good artifacts, or by whaling 5* weapons and cons for the strongest characters. All those things contribute to your DPS, and knowledge of the mechanics is just one factor (in some cases I would say most important).

@@vladys001 of course I have good equipment on my Ning, but like I said, a full team, even with a medium to low investment loadout (weapons, artifacts, constellations) on a F2P account will have significantly more damage than a perfectly geared Ningguang. So I just don't see how that constitutes a "DPS check".

@@vladys001 To clarify why I take issue with that framing: When people say "DPS check", they usually are implying that, no matter how well you do, what decisions you make etc, if you don't have really really good equipment (including characters & constellations), it's impossible. That means either you have to farm for an unreasonable amount of time, or you put a ton of money into the game. But if you include player skill in that equation and say "if a player has good game knowledge and mechanical skill, it's even doable with bad characters and gear, but because those aforementioned factors increase average DPS, that still means this is a DPS check", then the term kind of loses its meaning as a point of criticizing the way a game gives the players a challenge. And going back to your comment that I initially replied to, where you said "Even knowing all the tips and tricks, without having a good built team it is simply impossible", that is simply not the case if it's possible with characters like Ningguang, or someone like Arlecchino in a more difficult Abyss like the most recent one.

my personal answer for best character meta-wise was furina honestly, i'm kinda surprised arlecchino was as high as she was, and same with xiangling and xingqiu being so low

Ok let me answer those same questions before I continue watching the rest of the video: 1. Mommy Miko 2. 36 stars is easy smash 3. EM increases potency of reactions 4. Crit value is combination of crit rate and crit damage added up (crit rate x2)+crit damage 5. Snapshotting example Xiangling Pyronado where it keeps all the stats she had when she cast pyronado even if buffs stop part way into it. 6. Internal cooldown usually in terms of elemental application, standard ICD is once every 2.5 seconds or every 3rd hit, not everything is on standard ICD 7. Elemental gauge is how much of an element gets applied and how elements consume each other when doing reactions 8. Most meta character I would have to hand it to Furina. She adds soo much power to soo many teams.

I feel like asking whether or not a player was actively trying to full clear abyss would be a good question to ask. If you dont care about full clearing abyss, youre less likely to know these things in the first place or full clear abyss. If we separate those players from those that are actively trying to full clear abyss, we can see more clearly whether or not knowledge is directly correlated to success in abyss as these players might represent a significant portion of the players that answered no to all question and haven't full cleared abyss. We could also ask the players trying to full clear why they think they have been able to or haven't been able to full clear abyss to try to filter out other variables such as just not having all your characters fully built

I think also there can be a divide between *knowing* and *utilizing*. I always full clear, and I know everything - but I don’t think about or utilize these really. Except EM ofc. I’ve unfortunately bought and also built my way out of needing to pay attention to these types of things. It’s only if I’m going to really max a character’s damage that I’m going to think about these. Even then, it’s kind of hard to find places or opportunities to fully utilize all of this. Most enemies die in set up…

Same especially with broken supports like furina making even bad match ups like using hyperbloom vs the dendro resistance chicken boss and still 36*ing out of pure outdamging. Although being someone who doesnt like to pull above C0, i find I use a lot of side knowledge fix character kit issues that early Cons do like for example running hu tao with xianyun because plunge fixes her stamina issue similar to how c1 does it. Or how I can try to self swivl elemental aura I get from being hit with kazha in a nevuillete/furina team which lets me get maximum dragonic stacks even at C0 side stepping the only issue of that team pre c1

Why are you surprised by people picking Raiden a the best? She's driven the single easiest team to pilot since 2021, and most abyss cycles still come down to what team do you pair with Raiden national for an easy sweep.

I think he was suprised because while shougn can do every single content in the game with how versatile she is (shougn and childe national legit got nothing ingame that they cant counter elemental wise atleast), with how strong the new character rooster is especially after fontaine she feels like a jack of all trades / master of none. By that I mean for example the average navia 2x pyro team can hugely outdmg her classic national one with both sharing xl/benny. Or how the chorline the new electro dps can outdmg shougn in electro hypercarry with the same team comp. Last example from the top of my head is how even in aggravate teams, fischl and miko outdmg her in ST and AOE respectively. Sry for the yapping but I think their veiw for "meta" in that context is not only how versatile the character is but how irreplaceable they are in their particular context

So it's not good against light enemies, not that good against multiple enemies cs xq doesn't give hydro to them for xl to vape. Basically boss only team, and not that good at it lol. When anyone says raiden is top tier character I always wonder what teams r they playing. Rational we discussed. Hyperbloom is the most boring thing in the world and raiden isn't even always the best there. Raiden hyper doesn't exist for me cs no one has c6 Sara without raiden cons lol and even then it is kinda meh without those cons. Only team I would say is ok now is that one raiden furina yelan jean/xy. And even then I've never even bothered to try it out(tho I remembered now fischl variant of that team was nice). Ok, I will stop here haha

@@ferend4038 I've yet to meet a shield Rational can't bust. That's part of the strength of it, consistent 1:20-ish clears against basically anything, be it 4 waves of enemies or the Baptist in the current abyss with 3 types of shield. (Okay, maybe some double lectors are tricky)

I am AR60, without trying lol just playing since start...and I am proud to say I always get 36 stars, even after liquefying all my artifacts once (and not whaling on constellations)😭🙏🏾

And then there's me, an AR60 player who knows all this stuff and has many meta characters, but still can't 36 star the recent abyss 😅

I've tried international, Alhaitham hyperbloom, Arlecchino teams and Neuvilette teams. Ended up getting 6-7 stars every time 😅

I also suffer with his c0 but learned to fight at the extremes of his beam range so with a few abyss chamber resets, I can confidentially clear it without a shilder or interruption res like dehya. Its annoying yes but surprisingly easy to learn to live with

I have a friend and she's 100% casual player. When I started to play 2 years ago and asked why she put prototype starglitter on Zhongli or kagotsurube isshin on kazuha she said it's fancy. Like it's ugly to use fav on kazu or Zhongli. Or ttds on kokomi, it is preposterous to use ugly 3* weap which has not relatable color. Now she can swap weapons for abyss but she really hates it. And she hates to rebuild some chars, cuz she has already put a lot of time to make them good (160 cv actually). Or thinking that Itto 53/253 is good and 75/220 has too low cdmg. As for crit values I think it was a huge mistake for her not to use strongboxing 2 years of 3 of playing. She thought it's a waste of artifacts and still struggles and gets disappointed, when tries it. And she also doesn't think that she has to have not only crit artifacts. She got yesterday 2 nice pieces, atk sands with 29 er and 2 crits. It's a nice option for her rosaria, cuz she tried to give her crits and atk. Or she got 108 em flower. I mean just put it on your kuki or kazuha or somebody else, it's much better than getting 80-100 def. She spent these 2 pieces to lvling up something else.

The longer you play and the more characters you get, the less valuable xinqiu becomes. Him kuki and dendro traveler carried me hard in my early abyss clears. Now a days he's pretty much only on my nilou solo dendro team, so nahida doesn't get evaporated. There are just too many really good hydro characters.

snapshotting is something i never heard of, and the name itself doesn't give you an idea of what it could be. i heard about elemental gauge too but not under that name. i also learned about the concept of icds from a video about how people discovered why hu tao wasn't vaping that much, but it was more about the icd of the signs of the reactions (the big "vaporized" that shows when the reaction happens). in short, the reaction was happening, but there were no signals of it. the video took that initial discovery to explain why it is so complicate to follow the dendro-electro reactions.

I found the video to be quite interesting as someone who know about all the things mentiones, I couldn't stop thinking about the part where you say that people feel comfortable helping other, so I've got a question for y'all Who should I pull for? I got a C0R1 Clorinde and I really really really love her playstyle, I want to get her C1. However, Furina is coming next banner and I don't have her. My brain tells me to get Furina but my heart tells me to go for Clorinde's C1. I've been playin since 1.0 regularly until 4.2, when I mostly stopped playing. I can comfortably clear abyss and can run multiple different teams. Do you guys suggest getting C1 Clorinde or C0 Furina? I just don't really know how useful Furina could be for me, i know she can fit in just about any team, but I don't see her as necesary in any of my teams. If anyone could tell me the teams where having Furina is most noticeable I would appreciate it. I could provide further context into the characters I own if necesary

Getting Furina would be much better, in my opinion, getting more characters is always superior to getting constellations.

I'm actually not sure how true this is (I don't have Clorinde or Furina), but from a meta perspective I've heard that Furina works very well with Clorinde; and that Furina is a bigger upgrade than C1 for Clorinde's damage (allegedly, I'm not 100% sure). However if you like having the freedom to play Clorinde with any team you want, or don't always see yourself playing Furina with Clorinde, then Clorinde C1 will be better for you. From a personal perspective, make sure you actually enjoy playing Furina (I really like her, but I can't stand my characters not being at full HP which is why I don't have her lol)

Considering your a vertern player, I cant say furina would be an account changer for you but atleast metawise I can say the best thing about her is that she not only buffs most teams, she actually makes many who "fell off" into useable ones like how my noelle can almost fully max star abyss with her or how my c0 hu tao went from benched into becoming one of my best dpses again TLDR: furina makes most characters into abyssable tier dpses so you get to play more teams

The best way to 36* abyss is to have a friend (online or irl) do it for you 👍
