Answer- Yes and No

This is amazing, although I only understand about 5-10% of the lecture, the implications are huge. It provides a meaningful connection between quantum gravity and the holographic principle, in which theorists can explore more fully. Also, if everything is just qbits of information, we can begin to understand how the system was designed and possibly theorize on why the universe seemingly digital with plank constraints.

I suspect, that resolution of this puzzle again requires finding a broader basic principle around which a new theory can be formulated. Maybe new observational data can provide some hint later on. Otherwise it seems like way too much of pure mathematics.

So is he saying that spacetime is an emergent property of the error-correction at a quantum level?

This reminds me of how we use computers to verify information for financial transactions, i.e. : ATM's for example, and how they talk/task their actions with the main server(s) in order to make sure you have enough cash to withdraw and making sure that amount is correctly removed from said account.

Ie Thermodynamics is psudo-randomness of fine scales to the limit of .dt in one closed system of the Quantum Fields Mechanism. Time is prime, because it's one connected existence, ..defining the states of relative time shapes in wave interactions, ..probability bubbles of relative timing in the foam-form of physical-constant reality, ..a leaky p-brane of quantum fluctuations in dynamic synchronous continuity. So, yes, sort of..., it's a balanced multi-oscillator? It's streching the analogy, but Evolution is a type of error correction in the holistic context of Quantum Fields Modulation Mechanism Information sustainability pulses.

I didn't understand most of what you or preskill have said here but based on what I know about physics it is clear that preskill is saying the universe is a quantum computer/computation/data. I find the mention of error correction in this context interesting because it implies there can be errors in the data. That then brings to mind the mandela effect. I mean it seems to lend validity to claims of the mandela effect. Some do appear to be real. See the examples in the "mandela effect" playlist on my channel. One might expect errors to be corrected if there is an error correction function but error correction is not necessarily fail-proof. Take for example audio CD's which get scratched. The audio quality may suffer despite the error correction features.
