I have the disc one you showed and it is perfect for waiting in lines. I store it in a backpack with my water and snacks. I find it a touch heavy for long hikes but decent for short hikes, shopping for clothes with a friend (most places removed their waiting chairs during the pandemic and have no intention of putting them back), concerts and parades. That leaning stick is not a chair. You should return it with a paper that says “This is NOT a chair”😂

It baffles me that Amazon is selling knockoffs, even if the German company isn’t enforcing their patent, they try to point out the pros of their products… but you can’t buy the original if you don’t know it exists, can you? It’s made for caretakers to be able to sit with the person in a wheelchair, but can be purchased by anyone on their website. We take ours when we go out and my wife has a place to sit whenever needed. I’m always sitting in my Fold and Go Wheelchair.

As someone with mobility issues, the idea of a lean-on stool that I don't have to get up and down from, piques my interest for sure - but no, not one with only a single leg! The inherent instability is such that all I can see is it slipping, and me falling, in a way that just *screams* serious injury, too - it's the stuff of nightmares, and I'm not even joking! ::shudders:: So that'll be one giant NOPE and a "not even if you paid me, thanks!" for this so-called chair, but your diligence in testing such items so that we don't need to, is really more appreciated than you could know - so thanks again so much my friend, for all the time and hard work you put into your videos! :)

I've got one of these with the add-on cover / sling. I've brought it to Disney parks (both at Disneyland and Disney World) to take a bit of pressure off waiting in lines or waiting for a show at the end of the day where there's no other seating handy. Your review is pretty much my experience. It's certainly not as comfortable as a full-on seat. However, it's very tight and compact. And it's FAR better than nothing. Or sitting on concrete. So I continue to bring it ready to break out when those rare situations arise.

For that I'd definitely want the stool! I can see where the little NOT "chair" might seem like a good option at a Disney-type line, but I'm older and SUPER clumsy... I'd probably die!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

But aside from that very specific use case, you're better off just getting any number of other portable chair things.

When you are done you flip the seat back down till the two clasps hold it in place. But you can't shrink the leg down like this one.

I bought a cheap backpack with a built in mini folding stool for refereeing soccer. Best purchase I have made in a long time. The mini stool was surprisingly comfortable as it was foam padded and had a thick textile cover that has survived more than 5 years of heavy abuse with rocks, gravel, rain, etc. I would not take it long distance though, as the metal frame sits on your back with minimal padding, so walking more than a mile or two round trip would get uncomfortable real fast. But it's great for just going a short distance to a soccer field and carrying everything in a single small backpack. Your disc stool seems much better for backpacking or hiking.

I think I'd prefer a walking stick with fold out seat, it'd be easier to open. The table stool is cool.

I was just trying to think if I ever could have used this. The answer was no in 65 yrs.. I always would find a rock or log to sit on or go somewhere with a chair.

A better version of this was around in the 1960s. They had a leather sling to sit on. My Grandmother used one at Horse events we went to. Worked really well.

In a large group I’d be concerned someone wouldn’t trip or kick the stick and down you’d go. It certainly would be dangerous in the elderly or handicapped or ever anyone falling on their bum.

I love your channel very much. I am an autistic woman who loves watching reviews and diy videos. I just love watching people do things and learning how stuff works. There are very cheap useless products that are a waste of time and life. Fast production and fashion is hurting the planet because it's being dumped on the ground and ends up in the ocean. I used to free dive and it's polluted the deeper and farther out you travel into the ocean it gets worse. Most people don't get to see it because they don't have the opportunity to travel out there. I watched the coral reefs slowly die and become smaller. I haven't been out there in awhile but I know for a fact it's gotten worse. I cried for the loss because I made friends with the animals and the ocean. It was my home away from home. I am very comfortable under the water the deeper I dive the less stress and anxiety I feel. The ocean gets heavy when you dive down to 25 meters and after that it gets heavier as well. I used to go to 32 meters on one breath of air for 25 minutes. It took lots of practice to learn how to hold my breath and handle the pressure. I can see under the salty water too my eyes are capable of adjusting to it. I found out some of my family members have the same abilities. I believe it's genetic and if we don't practice the ability it can go away. Most of the time it's the younger people who have the ability and as they get older it slowly goes away. I am different so I haven't lost any of my abilities. I believe my autism is partly responsible. 😊

Those collapsing stools seem like a much better option. They may not be as tall, but that are just as compact, way easier to adjust, way more sturdy, comes with straps and handles. This videos just shows that even more.

Yapp, they’re better. Sadly the market is full of Chinese knockoffs, the original (Have A Seat® - My Stool) is patented and way sturdier, but most people doesn’t know. Every time i see those videos i try to point it out. The original isn’t even much pricier (around 10 bucks) and comes with a pillow..

Someone I knew had walking stick with a spreading handle to sit on. This was pre internet days. I probably haven't seen a similar product like that. I like the stool better than the stick. But the stick can be improved with a better flat seat. I think they are giving more importance to the design than the function.

man, stuff like that already exists but in the form of a cane with the top handle part able to open into a seat just like that compact chair. All they did is make the cane part telescopic.

Hi James, I think that had they called this the lean pack it would have made more sense. Given the cost and what you get I would give this one a miss. I am sure there is better out there. Still I very much enjoyed this review. Very well done.

It seems like you could easily design a plate (piece of wood) with a notch in the bottom that would quickly go on top your walking stick, if you had a walking stick, to get the same effect

I saw this on Amazon and as someone with chronic fatigue syndrome I was curious. Then I realized it worked exactly like when I lean/sit on the handle of my cane. Only it's way less durable, stable, and useful, and way more expensive. My cane looks like it'd be more comfortable too, because the handle is covered in foam so it's all cushioned. I decided to stick with my cane.

I actually brought sitpack to disneyland and use it between queues. It helps a bit where my foot sores from walking. Thus able to lean on something helps a bit. The downside im quite embarrassed for using it among other people. Hard to explain. It helps but it crawls on my skin on how weird i looked on others eyes
