    Thank you so much for this video post! I am that crocheter that is terrified to start an Etsy account even after prodding from those who have purchased my items. This has given me the confidence and answered so many of my questions to start setting up an Etsy account😊

    Sorry to say, that listing fee is due on the first of the next month if you don't sell anything. All fees due from previous listing, sales, renewals are taken out of the next (or first) sale. And if they are owed and not paid, your shop is closed by Etsy on the 15th of the next month, no exceptions. Otherwise, Etsy is a very good place to set up a first online shop. Just not "free".

    I know this is an older vid but THANK YOU!!! 💜 I needed these helpful supportive info. I’ve been trying to get the courage while being really ill and becoming permanently disabled in the meantime which has certainly not helped me do this endeavour faster that’s for certain. 🙄 So I’m glad I was subbed to you already and found this vid now. As I have gotten back into doing the things I love and I’ve already gifted so many things to any family/friends who I could so I need another outlet and making some $ when I can no longer work outside home would be greatly helpful to me. My son is helping me get my office space ready and the final piece of equipment other than in the near future (couple months) getting my own fairly good printer(no clue yet which one to get for what$?!?!? So and I yhink(I’m in Canada) so I think it’s similR in the USA if that’s where you are that for a small fee you pick up a special mail label sticker maker which will have the postage(stamp) on it and will be ready to put on the packages 📦 and then you just simply must drop a load of them at the P.O. When done. As opposed to I. The old days lol taking everything in scatterbrained all separate and having it boxed up etc there which is so time consuming and such. I know you understand most likely lol. But yeah I’m going to look on your channel and see if I can find the other vlogs in the series so I can learn some more about what I can do to be successful. I do have a question for you though? I hope you’ll see it? Can you be successful if you have more than 1 niche? Like I sculpt clay jewelry, make other jewelry, and sculptures stand alone kind, plus I make jewelry with resin etc, and I make paper art, paint, and crochet. So I am a bit worried that’s too many different kinds of art for one Etsy shop? But having five different shops seems a bit much to ha e to control and care for also? What do you think I should do? I’m also ot certain how to price anything . I used to know before my stroke and such but I haven’t been able to get that figured out yet on my own. Thanks for any help you or anyone else can assist me with?!💜

    Plus I need the scale of course so the sticker for postage comes out accurate. (This I also get from post office as well I think ya? )Do I use my laptop to connect wirelessly to these things yes? (Lol oh dear I’m in my 40’s and I feel somewhat uninformed and nowhere near educated adequately for this new dimension of life!!!!!) Gosh I feel so overwhelmed and scared of the prospects and how I will be able to do it well already and the office won’t even be complete till 2 weeks from now. But I wish I could have understanding even currently so I can concentrate on it and how I will set things up in the end to be the most efficient manner for success!!!!

    Thank you for sharing this very helpful tips. I always wanted to open my own shop of my handmade items but I’m just not that confident about selling online. I did my first Craft Market last October and I was super excited and it did turns out good. My question is, will I be able to list the crocheted items from other designer? I mean for example, I crochet one of your pattern I bought from your shop and handmade the item, will I be able to sell it on Etsy? By adding the pattern by you on the detail listing for the copy right purposes, to give you credit for your design. I just want to understand before I decide to open Etsy shop through your link. Thank you so much!! From: TX

  • @ACraftyConcept

    @ACraftyConcept

    4 жыл бұрын

    You can set it where you manually add the shipping cost. I personally prefer calculated shipping so if my customers buy more than one thing the correct shipping price is given instead of it being over estimated. You just have to make sure you have your weights accurate when you list an item, then calculated shipping can be a real asset!

    A Crafty Concept 😁 thanks. I just find sometimes I can fit 2 things in the same package if they order 2 it’s just the weight changes but it charges double the shipping. So sometimes I just look up shipping here and then manually add it and have it just add a few dollars for an additional item. I guess it’s just a bit of trial and error

    Hey thanks for your comment. If you set your listings up for "calculated shipping" etsy will automatically add everything up in their card (weight and size) for your customer's unique order. Then if there are shopping overages you can easily refund the customer and select shipping overage from the drop-down menu. Hope that helps!

    Hi, IDK if anyone will actually see this or not lol but I am a new crocheter (about a month) and still learning a lot about it. My ultimate goal is to start a small business with it but considering I don't know many techniques or patterns or really anything its hard to see in the near future me being able to do anything considering my little knowledge. Do you think even if I only know a couple of stuffie patterns would I be able to start a shop off of them? Or should I wait until I can start doing bigger things like shirts and stuff. I have a lot of free time and learn quite quickly but it rlly intimidates me thinking of all the limitations.

    I started making some crochet bags/purses about 3-4 weeks ago and I started selling them using snapchat. So far I've had 10-15 people buy bags and I want to take the next step but I'm kinda scared because I only started about a month ago. Should I take the next step and make an Etsy shop or do something else like make an instagram? Ugh I'm conflicted because the school year is about to start and I have a busy year ahead of me in college

    Instead of getting paid by etsy? Can we use it as credit to buy FROM etsy? This is for smaller purchases, of course id like the rest sent to my bank.

    Thank you so much for messaging me about it! To make things more organized in 2021 I am creating only ONE link to my email list. But ! You will get the 2021 content calendar right when you sign up and over the next few days you'll get the branding 101 PDF and the IG crash course PDF :D Here's the new link mailchi.mp/cc6235c17bbe/crafty-links and I will add it to this description as well! I knew there would be places I needed to fix, I just wasn't sure where they all were lol

    They're digital downloads. Google how to sell digital downloads on Etsy. I don't teach that. I just teach finished pieces. There are other creators that do though.

    You're allowed to sell a product that came from someone else's pattern as long as you don't claim the pattern as your own & as long as the product is not TM like Disney or marvel or something like that

    Just be sure to check each individual patterns small print; some people actually say you have permission to sell items made from the pattern (usually as long as you credit the designer), some say to contact them to get permission and a few say you've not got permission to sell items made (ie, only to be made for personal use)

    Etsy is being ruined by mass produced Chinese factory products posing as handmade and vintage. It is such a shame, these factory product sellers ruin everything.

    I don't love it either, but majority of customers who shop on Etsy are looking for handmade things. They see CC beanies and stuff like that in stores... so when they're on Etsy they're looking for handmade. They're looking for unique, one of a kind things, not mass produced things they see every where. I hope this helps. It helps me.
