I saw an episode of sensei Seth where a guy put his hands on his head and failed his elbows around. I think if Costa covers his left eye with his left hand he will take away all of stricklands offense, and he can use his other 3 limbs and that elbow. As long as he doesn't move his hand from his eye, he can't be hit by strickland

Sean's front kicks were crucial to keeping Izzy moving backwards and taking away his momentum. Also feinting them regularly acted like a block for Izzy's leg kicks He stopped using them in the second half of the DDP fight which may have been the difference

I wish this fight was not happening because I really like both guys and I want to see Costa go against Khamzat. I believe Sean is in trouble because the version that went against Rob. That version of Costa. Holy crap that dude looks like a freak. I would bet as much money as I could on Costa beating Kamat. Sean is going to have to use his wrestling in this one if he wants to win. Costa has great cardio for his size.

By the second round, he will be very tired because Costa is massive. Then Costa will probably wrestle and use his grappling skills because he is very good at it. By the third round. Khamzat will be exhausted because we all know his cardio is horrible and is always tired by the third round. Then Costa will probably win the fight by referee stoppage with throwing a bunch of heavy strikes. If it’s a five. Oh my God. Khamzat has no chance. Don’t forget that man has not even gone up against a middleweight yet. Not once has he gone against someone who fights in the middleweight division.

The fight being 5 rounds really benefits Sean. Costa isn’t because he has too much muscle/weight to carry. Costa, just like against Whittaker, literally has a puncher’s chance and that’s kind of it. But he doesn’t have the kind of one shot KO power that Alex has. He uses his physicality and bully style to break his opponents down by landing tons of hard shots. A lot of it against the fence. But both guys are known for going forward, so I wonder who’s gonna adjust their style and fight on the back foot first. I see Sean schooling Costa and winning this either by decision or late TKO, but Costa could definitely land something significant and change the fight. I just think Sean is too smart and his defense is too good.

I think costas right body and left high kick are gonna pose serious problems for Sean. Sean in general really falls apart when you push him back and dricus was able to, and costa throws much more volume than dricus

sean sees nearly everything but handling explosive power in round 1 is always very hard, sean's movement, composure, read, jab..checks..so good, if costa is too close too fast in the first round then sean should use his wrestling, he's very good there yeah that jab hurts..even wobbles fights, great reach, uses it like a hand teep, costa could have swollen eye pretty quick sean is fantastic at slipping away from the fence if he gets tagged, but yeah can't let costa pressure that first round, costa wants to turn sean's sparring session into a brawl, sean can't allow that, seans gotta teep, likely cruise control by round 3, sean's had great practice for this fight with ddp,izzy,jared,abus, he's faced the speed power athleticism is the ufc not hyping this fight? seems odd, sean is a golden goose for the ufc if they embrace him

He had 1 fight at 170 and got disqualified. So no he never smashed anything in that division. He was a great fighter for sure, way ahead of his time, but he didn't beat that many great fighters. His division sucked tbh. He has a few wins over legends but mostly guys who wouldn't be in the ufc today.

I beg to differ about Strickland’s pace. He was beating Cannoneer but just wasn’t active enough. I think if you look at all of his decision losses as a middleweight that has been the same. He may feel like he isn’t getting hurt and that he’s doing enough to win but he doesn’t seem to carry as much power or damage his opponents. I think with Costa that’s going to be a huge factor.
