I read some bs where a pundit (probably that grinch Roy Keane) said Saka needs to become mean and ruthless. Absolutely not, Bukayo is Bukayo and needs to be true to himself and his family values. So happy to see his teammates (especially Madison) speak so highly of his character especially after the BS after the Euros. Southgate has done a fantastic job bringing this group together. I don't think it's a completely new cycle outside of the midfield.

No matter what anyone thinks of Southgate ass manager. One thing he has done for the group he has created a fantastic atmosphere amongst the group of players like no one else has come close to. Don't underestimate the importance of that team spirit. I personally thi k Southgate let's himself down with the lack of use of the bench. Our bench does not weaken us in any way unless the wrong players are took off at the wrong times. Southgate has a habit of getting his substitutions totally wrong. He is a reactive manager not a proactive one. He also has a massive blind spot with certain players. I don't care what ex pro's & comemtatores say about Kane having a good game against France. He is the least mobile international forward I've ever seen. His work rate is shockingly bad. He doesn't hassle defenders into mistakes, when he drops deep if we turn the ball over. He just stands & watches the rest of the team bomb forward. How many times do we hear the press say he's carrying a knock or he looks tired. It's every game, they're making excuses up for him. I'm a Sunderland fan & the last thing I want to see is any Newcastle player doing well. But Wilson came on in 1 game & he frightened the life out of the defenders. He was none stop like most international forwards. He's a pest for defenders Kane relies on his obvious ability to keep his place. Can you imagine him having the work rate to match his ability?. I'd love to see his stats of ground covered & the amount of sprints he does. Because I'm telling you now I bet they're pathetic. This is a point Southgate could have made without saying a word to Kane. By taking him off after 60 mins a couple of times. We've ignored Wilson & an on fire Rashford to keep Kane on the pitch when quite Frankly he is creating & producing very little. It's not good enough in top international games. How many great games does Kane have against top opposition? I'll wait for a reply. These games are when true greats perform & show he never shows enough in those big games for me. He scored 1 goal from open play in 5 games. That is simply not good enough for a top CF.

Saka is the 2nd youngest player in the 26 man World Cup squad behind only Bellingham. He was also teenager when he was 2nd youngest player in Euro 26 man squad, youngest starter by good margin. Wilson is age 30+, Grealish is age 27, Luke Shaw is age 28, Maddison is age 26. Saka just turned 21 and they have known him as the young kid in the squad, some like Grealish, Shaw knowing Saka as a teenager in the squad. It's not like they say it as a disrespect. Literally Saka starts ahead of those older players (aside from Shaw who also starts) in the World Cup squad as 2nd youngest in entire squad. Saka is friends with Shaw, Maddison, Grealish. However he's seen like a younger brother, Shaw himself saying he sees Saka like that. Saka is significantly younger then Shaw and Grealish who are in there late 20's. Shaw being a father with multiple kids.
