Is Royal Air Maroc Airlines as bad as people say?
Спорт
Join me as I make way from Montreal to Paris via Casablanca following the 2022 Canadian F1 GP. I flew Royal Air Maroc, an airline I’d never even heard of. They’d also copped some pretty lousy reviews and I must admit the cheering and clapping from the economy cabin when we landed in Casablanca was totally unexpected.
So, was Royal Air Maroc airline as bad as people say? No! Sure it’s a long way off Qatar, Singapore and Emirates but it’s not the worst I’ve been on.

Flew out of YUL right after the race and it was a gongshow. 2 hours in the security line. Saw lots of the F1 teams, got a selfie with Binotto, and Gasly was on my Air France flight to Paris
Great stuff. Your travel videos are always very informative and entertaining. Hope you and your wife have a terrific time together. Next race Silverstone. Hope it's a good one.
Welcome to Morocco Kym so happy to see that i'm a Moroccan fan of you for 4 years now and finally the occasion have come to know about my country i hope you will visite it again you are bery welcome :D
Thank you for this nice video ! "Salut, ça va ?" at the reception of the lounge 😂😭 ! No one would say that to a customer in France in a place like this, it's far too familiar language for the French Enjoy your stay in Paris, hoping that you enjoyed "la fête de la musique" !
Thank you for sharing your travels with us Kym ..
Hey Kym! I was going to suggest you could have used the two-week interval to travel through Morroco - it is a somewhat exotic destination when compared to the more western standardized tourism you probably already have had a lot of. The prices are low and the culture is rich. I felt very secure and welcomed when I had a 9-day road trip around the country. The only trouble I had was regarding the language barrier, but luckily I was accompanied by a good friend and she had a fair enough level of french. Cheers. P.S. I found royal air Morroco to be very poor quality, but I was flying economy.
Wow, posted 8 seconds ago! Hope this one would be good, I always like your travel vlogs.

@@KymIllman Casablanca used to be an F1 venue Kym. The last Moroccan Grand Prix was held in 1958, it was won by Stirling Moss driving a Vanwall. Mike Hawthorn clinched the World Championship by finishing 2nd and announced his retirement, only to be killed in a road crash 3 months later. Vanwall driver Stuart Lewis-Evans died six days after the race from burns recieved in a crash on lap 42, one of FOUR drivers to die during that season. Drivers had balls of steel in those days!

Merry Christmas/ Happy Holidays Kym! Glad I found your video and appreciate your review. I'm considering Royal Air Moroc to Casablanca for a tour in Sept. However, I'd also like to do a connection via CDG on Air France, as I hear Air France is an excellent airline.
Love all your videos!!!! Keep them coming
Hi Kym, A Moroccan follower writing this comment 🙂 Just for the heads-up, Casablanca used to organize Grand prix in the 20´s and the 30´s. it organized also the Grand prix within F1 calendar in 1958, I think it worth to be mentioned. For the applauds while landing it is a Moroccan tradition ( I don´t know why they do that), they applaud the pilot for doing a safe landing LOL. For me, otherwise no one would be safe so it´s part of the job of the pilot to land safely. I hope one day you visit Morocco as part of WTCC calendar in Marrakesh or hopefully as part of a F1 round in the future. Cheers,

Flew from Madrid to NY with a layover in Casablanca yesterday. Honestly, it was not bad at all. I had a pretty positive experience. The food was good, the staff was nice. They even gave me a second bottle of wine when I asked for one. The plane left on time and arrived at JFK early too.

Any info regarding the strict carry on policy on RAM? Are we allowed 1 carry on (within weight and size restrictions) + 1 regular size college backpack?

Hey Kym wondering with so much travel working with F1 do the drivers have there own privet planes or the teams provide them privet aircraft or does Max and Lewis just fly commercial. I imagine not all the drivers could or would fly privet but thought teams like Red Bull and Mercedes may flip for a privet jet.

Ferrari are sponsored by Vistajet which is a private jet company so if you see any of those flying around (mainly to and from Nice) there's a good chance that either Charles or Carlos are on one of them
@ECris9
2 жыл бұрын
They fly both private and commercial. Max has his own private jet. Sometimes, other drivers fly with him (Daniel, Gasly etc.). I think Lewis used to have a private jet - not sure if he has one anymore. Charles flies private as well (he's sponsored by vistajet). Other team members fly private too, I believe (managers etc.). But it really depends. They also fly commercial.

Carlos and Charles use Vistajet private planes. Max owns his own plane, he took Lando and Pierre with him to Baku. And Lewis used to own his own, I believe, but not anymore
@vojtechnovacek7776

they usually have agreements with jet renting companies, Vistajet for Ferrari, FAI for McLaren etc. that the team travels with so some drivers get there with the team, the richer drivers might fly private

Hi Kym, you must do a lot of walking diring your travelling, around airports etc. . But how many miles do you walk on F1 Grand prix days say at Silverstone, do you have a fitbit or pedometer? I ask as I will be at Silverstone for 4 days taking photgraphs (hobby) and hope to get as large a variety of images and from as many locations as possible but I know this will involve a lot of walking, the circuit is huge.. I went in 2018 for just the Sunday and was exhausted after a couple hours, no idea how far I walked. I have a week to train my legs.

I had a flight from Nice to NY with a 3 hour layover in Casablanca with this airline. It was the worst flying experience I've had in my entire life by a huge mile. Late departure, missed connection, airline staff was not helpful in finding a replacement flight. I was actually quite the opposite - they were malicious. People all around the airport were instructed to forward all passengers who missed their connection to a specific person that never even existed! And that's only the tip of the iceberg. After all the shenanigans I swore to myself to never fly the airline and never in my life visit this country.

You definitely will not like Morocco if you can't handle taking a walk off the beaten path. They are charming and unique and very human. Most of them will survive without your visit, and if they catch a wiff of an attitude that smells like you think you are superior to them, you will miss out on their warm demeanor and get a cold shoulder.
