start a game with 0 starting resources, 0 weapons and 0 army and you'll notice that within a minute, the wolf has army worth over 1000 gold while having 10 peasants or so working. only explanation: they are literally cheating gold.

@@RKBock That's what I always thought. Enemies wealth seems to not correspond with their access to resources.

Religion pairs well with positive fear factor, as long as you optimize the distance from the chapels to the positive buildings - the peasants will get blessed when there. Another good place is next to the keep, for the peasants around the campfire.

Very thoughtful insight. The micromanagement of positive fear factor is a top meta secret of this game. Other comments mentioned walling off your good buildings completely to keep the idle peasant efficiency penalty to a minimum (they idle at their building or the granary instead), but this gives a good alternative.

What I have learned from an experience, if you have built churches and chapels and taverns, you can literally get small tax from the peasants and do not provide any food for them and happiness would increase!

Chapels can be very crucial for high bonus ....i can sustain it in later stages of game as well. My observation is that farmers and standing army also needs blessing ... So usually makes chapels near millitary camps near towers ..near mines ...near quarries and even near woodcutter huts which are far from my castle 🏰..

For low effort gameplay, I've always enjoyed cathedral + church + max nice buildings. Your peasants will subsist entirely on the vibes, no need to ever check your stockpiles or granary, you can sell everything that comes in and buy whatever you need to keep making buildings and troops.

1 brewery = 1 inn. Depending on distance. 1 hop farm can power up 4 breweries. But I prefer to buy all ale. Much more economivally powerful to pump everything to bread eco and buy all ale.

i always went (if possible) for +8 ale and i built cathedral and church and with chapels i just tried to maintain that +2 blessed, and went for -12 taxes

In regards to Ale, I know how it works, but is it worth it? Maybe make a video on it? I always make ale buildings if I have spare fertile land, in order to charge extra tax, but maybe it's better to just sell wheat? I'm a noob so advise me pls. Thanks!

Idk if it work online but when u play against AI u can do the same apple farm glitch and u will get so many priests with low number of chapels or churchs

i usually make 1 cathedral, 1 chruch and 2 chapels, with 9 or 10 houses i can get +5 of popularity, with 8 of ale, i usually keep my tax in -12.

Yeah I also agree Lord Barcley is like Wolf in Crusader 2 i voted him but i was disappointed when i saw Sir Edwin won.

About multiple workers stuff, press Zzz button 2 times really quickly (if you're slow you can pause inbetween 2 presses)

Even though these vids are very informative and always worth watching, I don't think a vid on ale is necessary. I'm pretty sure literally everyone watching these already know how great ale is for popularity and that 1 Inn = 30 people for 100% coverage, and that you'll probably make enough hops and/or ale to sell for more money. Not sure how much more there really is to it than that.

True, but to me it felt like people voted for someone like Rat as the best villain! It sounded wrong I would've chosen Bull IF HE WAS INCLUDED IN MORE MISSIONS AND TALKED MORE OFTEN, I don't understand why the coolest characters either died too soon or were forgotten in that game

If you wanna play for 0 food you can actually go for +8 + +3 Bonus from Religion, with a little ale for tax, so you can have max Blessed ppl, tax and not a very high population! But mines are important here

I guess some campaign levels requires you to do that: you have very low food sources, so you have to go for ale + religion bonus

Best villain in Stronghold 2 is yourself if siding with the discount Wolf and Snake dudes since that was my first blind playthrough choice. Plus, I couldn't beat the good path cause the Hawk mission was bugged where every range units fires their bows nonstop out of place. Then ofc, killin William's waifu and discount Obiwan bruh along with old boomer king and become Emperor Douchebag before the other two loser lords. Best Serpent Kenji main character path EVAR!

Hehehe I voted for Edwin to, I know he's a piece of shit too. It's just that I think he had way too much screen time and character. I wanted to voted for the Mcloud (The Bull) cause he had good character and a decent army, but he had so little screen time to know more about Mcloud. Love the ending, as for Lord Barclay (The Hammer) I would consider him my second favorite below Angus Mcloud. Would give more detail, but I hate texting large comments like this.

I more surprised about Olag (The last Viking) almost closing in on Edwin. He's the second worst when it comes too Edwin. He's just a generic Duke the truffle (The Pig), but more dumb and useless, but like Edwin, had too much screen time in the single player campaign probably. My bad on another shitty long comment.

If only they polished the SHC 2, it would be a dope tho. Anyway, yeah unpolished 3d animation on SHC 2 makes SHC 1 looks superior
