Is Portland's affordable housing law working? Yes and no, watchdog report finds
Portland's Inclusionary Housing program is intended to help the city's affordable housing needs, but could instead make it worse, an audit found. The city hasn't set goals, so auditors couldn't tell if they'd been met.

This is where all of the HOAs came from.
Didn't happen in South waterfront.
"pretty damning". AMEN.😢
And they say the city has no control on the price of housing it's clear they do and it's sad for so many struggling seeing it first hand that development would rather shell five million dollars rather than do the right thing and spread it over all the income brackets. Money over people gross.
Just rich people getting richer.
Just because people need low income housing doesn't mean they should have to live in substandard buildings...Cascade Management, inc. just opened Kentwood Dimensions on North Willis Blvd. It's 48 units, 3 - 3 bedrooms and 45 studios. I live down the street and met a lady that rents there. Every unit has no oven (not even the 3 bedrooms). They, basically, only have a camp stove to cook on and a microwave. It took her an hour to cook rice. The heat doesn't work inside any or most of the units. The office staff or management are not working on site very often and neighbors have told her that no one ever responds at the number they've been given for issues. The residents are supposed to be getting a free Trimet pass the first year and none of them have received their passes. Also, it advertises air conditioning but there is none. I understand that many apartments don't have air conditioning but don't false advertise....when does low income housing border on slumlord status?....
What new policies work here? Medical leave, no. Drug policy, no. Homeless tax, no. The policy that worked was the vehicle tags moratorium. It was so popular that even when it ended, folks still refuse to pay dmv fees.

Cops will pull your grandma over for not having tags and insurance. The cops let landlord investors get away with serious crimes against even disabled or elderly paying tenants, making people homeless.
It didn’t fail, our leaders profited greatly from it. Whenever I get a call about housing they always give it away to a drug dealer or a illegal citizen.
$63,900-85,200 annual gross income would mean you would have to make $30.72-$40.96 an hour. Who is paying that much?
💯🤡💩show.
