बासिल और तुलसी दोनों अलग अलग पौधे हैं बासिल विदेशी पौधा है जो केवल छाया का पौधा है । इसके पत्तों का।प्रयोग केवल खाने में खुशबूदार और स्वाद बढ़ाने के लिए ही होता है ।वहीं तुलसी देसी पौधा है और इसे धूप चाहिए होती है । इसका अयुर्वेदिक दवा बनाने में प्रयुक्त है । बासिल के पत्ते चिकने गहरे रंग और थोङे से बड़े होते हैं ।
