Unless there is access to the stadium cards shop on days, there are no games, I don't see how profitable that shop would be if it is only open 81 times in a year.

The play is too follow the comic book in house signings. They create the collectible. CGC will invite a sport player to a in house signing, like shoehi, customers can send in his cards to be signed, which is witnessed signaturel so any card is automatically authentic, graded slabbed , imagine sending in a base ohtani and getting back a graded signed authenticated card😊

Wouldn’t CGC buying JSA mean they can enhance their eBay authentication. Cards over a certain dollar amount get sent to CGC anyway for authentication this could also mean that they can authenticate autos for eBay purchases as well. Could be huge not just for CGC brand but also for eBay authentication

Always entertaining! I personally would buy Ohtani cards right now, especially low numbered or rare cards! Even with gambling accusations present and a considerable doubt in his cards values its a good move in my eyes! Take all that aside…. He is still a great player just like Rose, he is still preforming elite stats and is constantly on top as far as numbers! Innocent until guilty, even though thats Just a mix of words honestly! We shall see how this plays out! I personally will continue to buy/ collect Ohtani! Generational Talent!!! Thanks

So shohei had an interpreter who wired $500k 8-9 times over a period of many months and Shohei had no clue. He just never checks his bank account. Some people are just so willingly stupid that they will believe anything the media or a PR firm or law firm tell them. Also if it was really stolen why was the first story that he knew and was covering for a friends debts. Ever heard of someone with a 3/4 billion contract risking it to cover for someone who makes a few hundred thousand who was stealing from them the whole time? Why would that be the first story if it was a lie? 😂

I like the buying of non-sports idea but not the buying of baseball RPAs. I remember a few years ago, during the great card explosion, basketball collectors were buying red prizm Soto cards, then wondering why they weren't going up in value. The buying of Marvel idea should win an award!

T-Pot's theory around baseball RPAs is interesting but don't think it ultimately holds. RPAs are a more recent trend and first Bowman cards for baseball just have a more established history in the hobby. Thinking that collectors from other sports will fill the RPA gap in baseball is good rational thinking but people often behave irrationally.

What? Gambling is what made sports. Sports would be nothing without gambling. Without gambling Patrick mahomes would be making maybe 5 million a year and more than half of the fanbase 32 and older would be completely wiped out. Believe me, sports would be much better and pure, I agree with you 100% there but if we're speaking facts and reality then banning gambling would kill off a humongous portion of the people that make sports what it is today.

And it would just devolve back into the dark ages of black market gambling where bookies hire their goons to break some poor kids dads legs with a baseball bat. Have you ever gotten dropped off by the bus after school and have some strange man waiting in your driveway asking where your dad is? I have and it's not cool in any way. Legalizing gambling is necessary.

Teapot saying there is nothing to be concerned about when his interpreter gambled 10x his annual salary and Ohtani had no clue 😑 And JSA is a major player in autograph authentication. Acting like they don’t exist or only issue COA’s is a wrong take. The only difference between JSA and PSA is the plastic slab.

As T-Pott said, this should not be a guilty until proven innocent situation. What if Ohtani did absolutely nothing wrong? In that case I'm ashamed that our country vilified this man this way, a stranger in a strange land, who doesn't speak our language, and is here to provide us entertainment. To be taken advantage of by the one man in this country that he trusted most makes me feel terrible for Ohtani. I hope he comes through this ok.

Wacky. Massive consequences are possible and prices have barely changed. Buying? That is horrific advice. Especially given that Ohtani is NOT a young athlete anymore. All time great? He has had 3 great years and is turning 30. He cannot pitch or play the field due to a second major surgery. Sweep under the rug? The feds are investigating. MLB cannot "sweep" a federal investigation.... Oof. Crazy take considering the dip so far is only a couple of points lower than other stars.

Baseball figures out how to destroy its own, biggest stars, one way or another. That’s my biggest gripe with baseball. They need to focus on innovating the game and not letting the media run wild with the most random stories about every single persons character. Baseball was my number one sport growing up. I stopped watching once they said Barry Bonds wasn’t allowed in the Hall of Fame. Almost all of their top stars are just assassinated by random scandals of personal opinion. I would get that garbage out of the game if I was the commissioner of a sport . Just like the NBA protects its refs….. I would protect my players against gross media who ask non-baseball personal questions. Get off my lawn. Let the court of life take care of illegal actions. Other than that. Focus on the thing we all came to see. Pretending like all of your stars must be perfect angels is just Ludacris. Dana White is by far the best commissioner of all of sports. Standing back with white gloves like Bob Iger while the media plucks out your star players one by one is just a bad business model IMO.
