What I find so funny is that Bourdain is trying to encourage us to open ourselves to new experiences and overcome our prejudices and the comment section is littered with anti-immigrant, anti-Arab and anti-Muslime bile. So, basically the opposite of Bourdain's ethos.

I just got back from a trip to France for the first time. We stayed part of our trip in Marseille. I'm surprised by it's reputation. It's such a beautiful city with so much to offer. I never once felt unsafe walking around there day or night.

ENFORCER Calanques is a part of the city, unique place. France is the biggest tourist destination in the world.

Was there in the navy on two cruises back in the 80’s. My favorite port.
It might be a dangerous city, but, compared to New York, it's a save and kind place

Marseille… I’m sure to say that it’s not the city for newbie. I got mugged and robbed for only three days staying. I still can’t forget the fear. I can say that even Morocco makes me feel safer than the city. Expensive for nothing. You will be in danger if you’re poor. And my muslim friend who lives in there told me she never go out night. You need to be tough in street.
