    Penelope mentions not wanting to live under the rules of either the stupidest or cruelest person she knows (sorry I don't have the exact quote) referring to her sisters if they inherit the Featherington estate by proxy through any potential son. I assumed she meant Phillipa was the stupid one and Prudence the cruel one.

    @@squee599 I assumed it in reverse as you ? 😂 mostly since I rewatched all Bridgerton before S3 and there are some scenes where Prudence says the most questionable stuff ever lol and Phillipa just being cruel at her (Pen), but it still seems she has the hang of other things Phillipa doesn't, as evidenced before 💀

When in reality, kids are going to be curious about sex naturally & will get messages about it from their friends, media, etc. So they better get the right info from their parents if nothing at all!!!

Her daughters are "disappointing" to her, her husband lost all of their money gambling, then had the nerve to be murdered by the bookies he scammed, leaving Portia and her girls penniless, and without a known male heir to the estate, to save them. Then the new lord, who essentially inherited the estate and responsibility for Portia and the daughters, it turns out he is a broke scammer as well. Portia double crossed him, and kept the money he stole from the rest of the ton, had her maid forge a document relinquishing the estate to the first male heir from any of her daughters, and is about to be found out by the lawyer representing the crown. The only thing that can save them from losing everything is for one of the daughters to produce a baby boy before the lawyer takes everything away from them. And one of them doesn't enjoy the baby making, and the other is so clueless she and her husband of 2+ years haven't gotten past heavy petting. So Mama Featherington is feeling like the universe is working against her.

Daphne was….for a lack of a better word, blessed to have a husband who visited brothels and knew what he was doing. Therefore, he was able to teach her. It doesn’t seem like Philippa’s husband visited in brothels, therefore he didn’t know how to teach her.

    Because they're not really allowed to. It's considered scandalous and damning for a woman to talk about sex and pleasure unless she's a sex worker. Courtesy of the Church and all that. Mamas of high society were supposed to teach them the basics of what to do on their wedding night, which was solely to lie there, do what he wants and take it quietly. Women of high society were not supposed to know how babies where made. It could cost them their husbands.

    There’s a variety of reasons for not enjoying sex, other than not liking your partner and being ace. I think inexperience and a lack of communication is more likely for Netflix to green-light as it can show people how to have those discussions. Unfortunately us aro/ace people are always overlooked, ignored, or infantilised - especially in media. Having a genuine aro/ace character in mainstream media would be a HUGE step forward, but highly unlikely now and so suddenly. We’d need younger queers getting into media like this for that to happen, unfortunately.
