it’s honestly pretty hard to find a BAD Idle song. they’re so insanely talented. don’t know if you really noticed the group count went from 6 to 5, Soojin was kicked out due to bullying allegations that were proved false BUT, she just debuted as a soloist and i highly recommend checking her out further down the line! Also, they performed their song Lion on queendom, highly suggest you watch that. it’s their best imo

I would recommend their official mv over the Queendom performance. They did get called out for cultural appropriation due to the African themed set design and costumes on the show. It’s an excellent song either way, but I think she would enjoy the mv more.

I loved when Miyeon did the Sha la la dance challenge with Taeyong. Her way of dancing was totally different from the way Taeyong danced. But it is understandable that she can’t know every dance. Dance challenges are just for fun anyways.

(G)i-DLE is the only 4th generation girl group that writes and produces nearly all of their own music. And they use their platform to bring up such important messages.

@@sindieltaylor2147 The only FEMALE self-producing group is (G)I-DLE..Not talking about male groups since there is too much of them..But in FEMALE category there is no one who produces music,arranges...The most female groups have done like Brown Eyed Girls,Mamamoo and etc was just WRITE.And most of the time they just completed already made lyrics adding smthing unique to them...Most of Moonbyul's credits(she is the most credited female idol) are like only rap parts and some songwriting where she is mostly last...And then there is Soyeon,Minnie and Yuqi who have credits for composing,arranging,writing and producing.

@@GarikArakelyan-ne3pv so this isn't actually true, you mentioned BEG where yes Miryo mainly has songwriting credits but JeA actually has a good few composing credits aswell. EXID just about every song was completely produced by LE and SST. Mamamoo do compose aswell, a lot more of their recent songs the girls have a hand in the composition and between them have over 40 composing credits. Obviously back in the day Yeeun and Sunmi were composing for WonderGirls , Subin for Dalshabet and if you count them as a group Jiyoung for Bol4 before the split. Then theres newly debuted groups like Kiss of Life with Belle, Young Posse with Sunhye and tripleS with Sohyun. (G)I-dle are definitely the group who have used the self producing title to elevate themselves but it has happened in the past and more groups are doing it now than ever before, they are far from alone in it.

I love when people react to G-idle, Soyeon really catches everybody’s eyes, and is just lovable tbh 😭

(G)I-dle and Stray Kids are my ult groups. Self producing groups hit so very differently. Their name is pronounced idle, and they are queens of concept. (G)I-dle are self produced as well. Soyeon, blond bob/rapper writes them. Queencard is the follow up to Allergy (which is why I suggested watching Allergy first).

(G)-idle are kind of the kpop feminists, their song Oh My God has hints to lgbtq (the chorus is literally “She took me to the sky”) They’re all about self love and women empowerment. Them and Stray Kids are the 4th gen ace group (in my opinion)

(G) Idle is pronounced as "Gee-Idle" (as you said at the beginning of the video) or just "Idle". G(Idle) is currently a five member group, composed of the members: Soyeon (leader, rapper and main producer), Minnie and Miyeon as the main vocals, Yuqi (vocal and dancer) and Shuhua (vocal, dancer and the youngest member). Originally they debuted as six, but unfortunately one of the members, Soojin, had to leave the group due to a very unfair bullying scandal which later was proved in court that she was innocent. She was the main dancer of the group and she's absolutely amazing at it. The girls were devastated when she left. Thankfully this year she re-debuted as a soloist. One thing about (G)Idle is that they are a self produced group, with Soyeon (the girl who first appears with the short blonde hair) producing, writing and composing 90% of their songs, literally since their debut song. In the last couple of years Minnie and Yuqi have joined Soyeon in writing and producing the group songs. As the group's main producer, Soyeon is the one who comes up with all the title songs, concepts, artistic direction for the MVs and about every single detail in their performances. Till 2021, she'd also come up with the choreographies together with Soojin. (G) Idle is not as focused on dance as Itzy but they actually dance quite a lot, it depends mostly on the concept they're pulling off. One beautiful thing about (G)Idle is that they're known for pulling so many different concepts and genres and they always commit to every single one. They're also unafraid of touching controversial topics within Kpop and Korean society and they always deliver a strong message about self love and confidence. They are my favorite 4th generation group and one of my favs overall. If I'd recommend another 4th gen group I also love, it would be Le Sserafim. P.S. 'Oh My God' is a song about being tempted by some sort of forbidden dangerous attraction. A lot of people believe it is a song about queer love, which is a controversial issue in Korea, and when asked about Soyeon said she'd let people interpret the way they wanted, whilst she has positioned herself as an ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

Im so happy you found (g) idle. Btw it's pronounced idle. They have got to be the best 4th generation kpop group out there and their leader Soyeon is amazing. Soyeon is the rapper who you notice multiple times and I'm telling you this now... SHE'S BAD ASS. She is the one who knows how to use everyones talents when they make their songs. Also she doesn't let anyone walk over her and her group. Awhile ago she dissed an entire award show for giving them awards like 'Down-Syndrom of the year' to disrespect them and nobody knew she would. Literally right after (g) idle accepted an award from them. Soyeon has to be one of the best rappers and producers in kpop history, she is up there with 2nd and 3rd gen. Which is really amazing for a 4th generation kpop leader. Only sad thing is Soojin who was kicked out of the group for false bullying allegations. But she has debuted on her own so I would recommend watching it.

I agree with you 100%. I've been a kpop fan for a year, and my top 2 groups I stan are Stray Kids and (G)-idle.

Soyeon is one of the best rappers in Kpop. CarKpop channel made an analysis of the top 10 kpop rappers and she is the only woman on the list. Gidle was the first kpop girl group that I fell in love with and still one of my most listened beside aespa, Mamamoo and Kiss of life. I am very picky when it comes to female artists and these bands in my opinion are the best right now. (New jeans is also very good but they r really not my style)

when it comes to representation Loona- Butterfly was the first MV that was actually centered around that as far as I know (diverse women and it was just so so so beautiful I wanted to cry at first) but unfortunately theres a boycott ongoing because their company wasnt paying them and were keeping all the profits because of an unfair contract (theyre free now but we still dont wanna give money to that agency) :// Theres a google drive with all their content tho !! I absolutely love this series. If you want to check out another group I’d suggest you “Dreamcatcher”. They are kind of a black sheep in Korea due to their rock & metal influences. Songs like Boca & Scream. They have pretty intense choreographies (Wind Blows, Odd Eye, Scream, Chase Me, Good night) Their b sides are also bangers (Jazz bar, Black or White, Shatter)

They have an all English album called heat that is amazing. I saw them live in Chicago over the summer 🤩 they were recently touring USA during the kiss jingle ball tour

Honestly, gidle was what got me into kpop - they're so unique and I love that they're not afraid to do their own thing! Also it's so refreshing to see a group who write and produce all of their own songs. Soyeon (the blonde one in the first video) writes and produces all of their songs. She also comes up with the concept for each comeback! The fact she can write such different vibes and still make them all have that gidle sound is so impressive to me! Some of the other members have written and produced a lot of songs, too. They're such a refreshing group and the fact they are all so unique and different, but all get on so well is so nice to see. It's a shame they get so much hate for being different - it's what makes them so amazing to me honestly. If you like them - they just announced their new comeback album - 2 - releasing jan 29th :)!
